We have that dilemma next week, think we're going to try Seaworthy.
Justine also has an interesting late night menu.
Thanks, it’s on my list. Would welcome a report.

So I keep seeing folks post this. "Hey everybody, just use $20 /gal gas, and you'll be good".
Meanwhile, every mexican that cuts lawns for a living fills their cans at the cheapest station in town, no matter what town you are in. ( And they gather at the coffee pots and take forever to get the cream/sugar blend just right)
Seriously, let's say gas is $3 bucks a gallon. Trufuel is about 20. So, 17 bucks extra per gallon.
How many gallons do you expect to burn over the life of a mower? 10 gallons is $ 170.00 extra for trufuel, give or take. If you burn 20 gallons, you've spent more than the price of the average new mower. I fill a 5 gal can every month or two, I suppose. Maybe I'll start keeping track of that. I'll bet I've burned over 50 gals in my weed machine. I would have spent an extra $850 on trufuel. I could have replaced the mower with a comparable new one a half-dozen times for the price differential.
Look motherfucker, we don't come to Surly for a dose of common sense. Or maths. 😉

I'm 6' and about 180 and I'm wearing a Masters medium today.
If any of you guys at the tournament could hook a brother up with some golf shirts, I'm good for it.

If a fella was getting in late to MSY, but had the fever for the flavor, where could he find a good meal after 11pm?

I could go for some Tadich for dinner, that place is tasty

Did you fly into Liberia? And how did you get to the resort? The site says it's a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours from either Liberia or San Jose to the resort.
I'd be tempted to rent a car, but not sure about the quality of roads. The good thing the Southwest flight from Houston arrives at 1:00 PM , so that leaves plenty of day light. Also are taxis readily available for La Fortuna?
Flew in to San Jose. It’s it is much cheaper and same distance. To the hotel in Arenal in a van arranged by the hotel. It was a no brainer. I don’t recommending driving there. We then took another van to Tamarindo for a few days. Then flew out of Liberia. More expensive but much closer to where we ended our vacation and a better departure time.

Any can’t-miss recs? I know we’re doing Makers. Others are up in the air at this point, I believe.
BT for sure. Stitzel Weller was cool as well

In what resort did you stay?
FYI if you do Arenal (and you should) here is one of the best hotels in the world to bring your lady friend, same company and next to each other, I've stayed in both and had an extraordinary experience

Not to go all male privilege on your collective asses but this is example #3,247,898 of shit most of y'all don't have to worry about that some of us do. I mean, God forbid we females should be able to go out drinking and having a good time without having to be hypervigilant about being raped and murdered just because we were distracted or drunk and mistook the wrong car for our ride. I mean, I have seen some of you fuckers BRAG about doing shit a lot more infantile and idiotic than that, and give high fives all around. "Oh, hahaha, we were so fucking smashed, hahahaha! Oh, too bad I wasn't there, sounds like it would have been a riot!" Yeah, 99.99% of the time it turns out fine for everyone. Until it doesn't. Is it so much of a goddam burden to talk about things that Uber and Lyft might be able to do to mitigate the possibility of something like this happening again? Or to create additional visibility around the issue so that people know that, you know, it's an issue? Or is it just so much easier to just call the girl a dumbass and the father a whiny bitch and move on? Jesus H. in a sidecar.

Buy them there. There’s a spot for your business card in the back so you can ID your chair over the other thousand in the vicinity so bring some cards
Buy as much Masters stuff as you can afford. Or you will regret it later. The golf shirts are excellent. Also hit it early. It’s a mad house and they may run out of popular items. Or the size that fits you.

Thanks for the responses. Although many of you are suggesting I run from hole to hole, my plan was to bring my own cart and just drive. It'll keep me off my feet and give me a place to put my cooler, phone, metal chair, and air horn.
My plan for walking the course was to follow the first group from 1-18 just to see every hole, then head to 16 since that is my favorite hole from a spectator stand point. My favorite hole on the course is 13 but you're so damn far from the green that I don't think I'll want to spend much time there.
I actually only got tickets for Sunday, but I'll be arriving in Augusta on Friday. Where are the best bars and/or places to watch on Saturday?
13 is one of the best spots to watch. Get your chair on the rope early. You can see them approach and then hit to the green. Everyday a golfer will hit into you, so pay attention. You can see the 14th tee as well. Easy walk to Amen Corner and also 16, which is where shit gets real. And the 15th green. And the guys hitting over your head on 5. Walk a little further to watch them play the par 3 4th and approach on 3 is also great. And the concessions are right nearby. And the pisser is right up the hill.

What's the surly expert verdict on the new Amex Bonvoy card with the 100,000 point bonus? I am not not loyal to any hotel brand (yet). It's a $450/year card.

Your.second paragraph is demonstrably false.
I misspoke. Obviously. Murder rate is highest where death penalty is most frequent. By region, not city. It’s right there in the fact sheet.

Read the studies on race from the DPIC fact sheet. Consistent in all states studied. Sickening.
Deterrence? The murder rate is highest where the death penalty is used more frequently.
Harris County, Texas is #2 in the nation in executions. Ahead of all the other states except Texas. Let that sink in

NUMBER OF EXECUTIONS SINCE 1976: 1493
Death Row Exonerations By State Total: 164

For every 9 people executed, 1 person sentenced to death has been exonerated.
Let that sink in.
