Building renovation code changes in Texas: HB2439?

I am not sure what materials this may be aimed at, but it appears that this is similar to the "plastic shopping bag" legislation that is intended to keep local governments from banning building materials that are still OK by national standards.

It's a tad fascist.

Pretty much. Officials here in Frisco are whining about it. They have requirements like a certain percentage of the facade had to be rock/stone. Made for some pretty ugly buildings where these look like they were an afterthought to meet the requirements.
