Ha, Beau pulled a Vic on Vic.

Like any rational person, I have Vic blocked, so if he posted this earlier and you saw it, that's on you for not blocking Vic.

The Cubs have acquired pitcher Edward Cabrera in a trade with the Marlins that sends top outfield prospect Owen Caissie and two other hitting prospects to Miami, sources told ESPN.

Sources told ESPN that the Cubs also dealt away infield prospects Christian Hernandez and Edgardo De Leon in exchange for Cabrera, a popular trade target for multiple contenders who will improve a Chicago rotation that includes veterans Matthew Boyd, Jameson Taillon and Shota Imanaga.

The O’s claimed the delightfully nicknamed Jhonkensy Noel as possible outfield depth.

Could be a real short tenure.

The Orioles announced that they have claimed outfielder Marco Luciano off waivers from the Pirates, a move which was previously reported. To open a 40-man spot, outfielder Jhonkensy Noel has been designated for assignment.

All of Beau's teams.

The Colorado Rockies have acquired outfielder Jake McCarthy from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor league pitcher Josh Grosz, the teams announced Saturday.

McCarthy, 28, played five seasons with the Diamondbacks and finished fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2022 after hitting .283 with 8 homers, 43 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.

McCarthy slumped to .204 with four homers and 20 RBIs last season. He was a first-round draft pick out of Virginia in 2018.

Grosz, 23, was acquired by the Rockies last summer in the deal that sent third baseman Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees. Grosz went 5-14 with a 4.67 ERA in High-A ball with Hudson Valley and Spokane.

Grosz was drafted in the 11th round out of East Carolina in 2023.

That looks like a great trade for the Rockies, though I'll admit that I like McCarthy more than probably warranted. He is out of options, and AZ has a lot of outfielders, so they really couldn't keep him, but he should have pulled more than dreck from the Rox farm system.
