sheesh, you are acting like there is only a choice of ND/OSU/Miami or Texas school for the deaf.   there is a wide chasm between those, like say Louisville or ASU/Arizona or Colorado(for all the Deion lovers) or Michigan State.

Correct, as much as I want marquee match ups, I think the signal from the committee is to go out and schedule fun vacations for us rather than great helmets. Let's have a yearly away game at Hawaii and then perhaps a rotating travel schedule to Seattle, Portland (via Corvallis), and NOLA. Perhaps we try to convince Alaska Fairbanks to move up to DI FBS?

Yea, especially if tOSU finds out losing to a top ranked OOC team in a true road game fashion means nothing vs playing pud state.

not cool

Ohio State missed the 4 team playoff in 2017 and 2021 because they lost OOC games to Oklahoma and Oregon respectively. Both of those Ohio State teams were better than this Texas team and would have had an actual chance of winning the CFP. After 2021, Day fired his entire defensive staff sans Larry Johnson, then brought in Knowles and the rest of the position coaches that have been the backbone of their elite defenses to this day.

Sark has to politic for his team in the present moment. But if the actual takeaway from this season is to try to finesse the schedule like a TCU-caliber program trying to earn national recognition, then you should just give up any aspiration of competing with Georgia or Ohio State right now.

Compare Texas and OSU's conference schedules. OSU can do whatever they want, but don't act like it's apples to apples.

We kind of signed up for this, having dumb losses against teams like Florida. Struggling to beat Kentucky and Mississippi State. This is the grind we signed up for.

Conference scheduling is too unbalanced.  We are 3-1 against the top 7 in conference.. Aggie is 0-1 and are going to host a playoff game against a G5 or hapless ACC team.  4 of their opponents went 3-32 combined.  They beat 0-8 pig by 3 and 1-7 SC by 1.

UT 3-1, UGA 2-1, Bama 2-1, UM 1-1, OU 1-2, Vandy 0-2, Aggie 0-1

There’s no incentive to play good OOC teams. I guess go towards the NFL model where those games can be fun and can compare relative conference strength, but are irrelevant for a playoff bid.
