Of course, the question remains, how much worse will be any of their successors.
At least Bondi is nominally qualified.
The next AG will cover up future crimes, then will be fired as well. Rinse and repeat.

What Trump is doing here might work. Throwing MAGA a bread crumb that they treat like a loaf. Their God King is listening to their concerns, and the blood of Bondi might satiate them.

Would not be surprised if Bondi is sacrificed in this ordeal. Trump posted support for Patel and Bongino yesterday, but left her name out of it.
He clearly told her to make the Epstein case go away, and he'll have no problem "reassigning" her as a gift to the hardcore MAGAts that are calling for her resignation.
Everything these bozos do is so obvious. This is all made up drama to force Bondi out. The new AG says "unfortunately the case is closed. There's nothing we can do and we have to move on."
No one wants to take blame for the coverup so ditch the bitch and hope it satiates the moron base. Sorry Pam, I know you're a loyal MAGA, but you're still a woman. Bye.

I think this is just a ploy to push Bondi out.

1 minute ago, Texas Fight said:Thanks for the exact quote. It’s the perfect example of a question to the wrong guy at wrong time. If you don’t agree, how do you think a mayor, who wasn’t in office during those votes, should have answered? Should he have just shared hearsay?
maybe something like, “Morgan, great question. I read on surly some snippets of a vote 9 years ago and some ridiculous comments about crazy people my preseasons made that look horrible right now considering what has happened. I’m glad I wasnt in office then.”
Read the quotes again. Slowly. The reporter never criticized the Mayor. It was an all encompassing question, and the Mayor chose to be personally offended and deflected.

First, Yes, I do think the best time to ask the questions out there is anytime after the event until it's as long as it takes to get the fucking answers. The American public has the attention span of a gnat, and people won't give a fuck in 3-6 months.
Not only that, but pressing them now doesn't allow these officials time to create bullshit excuses and narratives. Truth >>>>> decorum.

Morgan Chesky is a Kerrville homer. He was called on by the mayor. He asked a question about voting records and sirens.
My point, is we all want the answers on what happened. What really happened. We aren’t going to get them from these press conferences 3, 4, 7 days after the event and during the ongoing emergency response. If really want these answers, from the camps, officials, government, they will come in a different forum (discovery, FOIA, depositions) and will take more than 3,4,5 days to get it.
So fucking what. It's part of the job. When the shit hits the fan at work, do you cry about how unfair it is, or act like a man? Where does the mayor's feelings rank on the unfairness scale compared to 200+ innocent people dead?

Oh no, the horror! Politicians get unfair questions all the time, and they have agency to respond accordingly. Why you're so upset about it in this particular case is curious.
Being a mayor is a hard and often times thankless job. This dude signed up for it. Stop treating him like a victim.

Is it the city managers responsibility to answer questions about notifying a camp in a town not named Kerrville 2 towns over? I have no idea and neither do you. But it doesn’t need to be answered today, in a press conference, asked by Morgan Chesky the city manager’s high school classmate.

It's perfectly ok to Monday Morning QB when innocent people die. Our governmental systems failed them and a diagnosis is necessary.

It's interesting (but not surprising) that right wingers are now running with the "well, I guess Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison for nothing" sarcastic (?) talking point. She was charged for trafficking minors to Jeffrey Epstein. Yes, there is clearly a cover up from Trump's DOJ regarding other clients. But it doesn't negate why Maxwell was charged and prosecuted.
Just the dumbest binary thinkers. No nuance. No attempt to fire a few pistons in the brain.

Exactly.
"Stop making this political!" when they make everything about politics is just another data point that the game is rigged.

They'll get over it within a week or two. They'll make up a story like how Trump is keeping all the secrets to have power over the "Deep State" or something. They're likely getting their story straight right now.
If I had to bet on it, I'd agree with you.
MAGA doesn't care for normal politics. Tariffs, Middle East, the Big Beautiful Bill, etc....they are happy to cede those decisions to Trump. But Epstein/pedophilia is wheelhouse culture war red meat for the right. And he just gave all of them the middle finger.

If (and I understand how big an "if" this is) it's humanly possible for Trump to make a mistake with his base, this is it. Right wingers turned Epstein into a massive political football, and the only thing they may hate more than liberals is pedophilia.

Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
in Football
Posted
Happy to see him break down that Mississippi State game. I don't know why - whether it was the terrible game flow and close score for 3 quarters, playing a shitty SEC team, or something else - but it felt at the time like our fanbase really didn't appreciate how good Arch was in this game.
Mississippi State bled a lot of clock with 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense. But Arch was phenomenal, with lots of wow plays that we haven't seen at QB for a long time. The Johntay drop on 3rd and long (easy TD) was basically a turnover and still pisses me off. Arch played an A/A+ game, if it was a B+ or less the game could have been a nail biter at the end. I don't give a shit if it was against bad competition, the film doesn't lie.
