  1. Semi not all inclusive Cliff Notes: The rigged numbers from the Stewie Mandel School of Statistics took an average where much/most of the Pac school's worst games were excluded, because so many were on unrated PacNet broadcasts (up to 8 games in a season.) Totally Neutral Baylor site's adjusted adjusted just adjusted numbers adjusted for a more even comparison may or may not result it: You can see why AZ would be most gung ho about taking a lifeline ASAP, and how smoking dope must have stunted CO's growth. B12 should make KS a basketball only member.
  2. ^^ The 3 "insiders" (1 legit for sure on his end) on the TCU 247 site Who heard the rumors of TCU being considered by the B1G have all been very limited and measured on the story. They've always tempered expectations, saying what they heard was basically TCU was mentioned in a scenario for luring ND to the B1G but not in several other such ND strategies, and not in any non-ND options. Have said it was a longshot and it's been quiet for awhile now. I don't think they made the story up. Meanwhile, from Canzano today: https://www.johncanzano.com/p/canzano-pac-12-in-a-dance-with-espn ...I reached out to Bob Thompson, the former president of Fox Sports Networks, for an answer. Said Thompson: “He’s probably got a number from ESPN at this point. Is it their best, last, final? Probably not. But given there’s about a week to go they’ve got to be honing in on it.” Thompson said the Pac-12 should also have an idea about the interest of other television and streaming bidders who aren’t involved in the exclusive window. “Nothing precludes the others from reaching out or back-channeling their interest to the conference or most likely to the conference’s television consultant...” “...I think the conference will be wise and want to see who is on the outside looking in when the Big Ten option ends..." “...Certainly San Diego State and the San Diego market would be attractive,” Thompson said. “I kind of go back and forth after that between Las Vegas, Fresno and Boise. They’re almost interchangeable. None of them blow you away from a market standpoint. There’s not a real clear second partner for the Pac-12. Beyond that, you could go to SMU or try to poach the University of Houston before they get into the Big 12.” “There’s no doubt in my mind that San Diego State is the No. 1 target — without a doubt — should they decide to go forward with expansion....”
  3. I see Arizona already has them there their version of the Baylor tarp:
  4. So the B12's likely P12 targets are projected to finish this year 1st...and 10th, 11th, and 12th in a 12-team conference. And Utah, while a top notch school that did football the right way by earning their way on the field, would double up a relatively small market/state of 3 million, since BYU is already coming in. Even doubling up in 7 million pop AZ is of questionable $ value. ASU is a mess with a huge scandal that the NCAA may try to make an example of (paying for the sins of UNC, SEC, etc.) U.AZ is 110 miles from Phoenix (Austin to San Antonio is 80 miles), where most of their alumni live, but not clear that they can carry the Phoenix market the way Texas or aTm carry Houston, DFW, San Antonio, etc. Perhaps it is just because they've been down awhile in football. Perhaps not. But at least AZ is in blue blood territory for bouncyball and both AZ and ASU are historically great baseball programs. 4 and 5 CWS titles each. The only things going for Colorado is 5+ million in state, though net growth recently has slowed way down and is nothing close to Arizona's. Both states have a high percentage of transplants with no connection to the local schools. Not sure if it is ultimately good or bad for the B12 that Cal will probably end up still available once the B1G finishes their hunt. Lousy fan/local interest, but an almost 10 million CSA (5th largest in the country, larger than DFW for probably another 2+ decades, should pass Chicago's CSA in the next few years) so TV might push for them.
  5. Gene Shalit is my second favorite Oriole.
  6. *BTM = Big Ten Mom Same function as S. Austin's
  7. Obviously not, since you had to cut out most of what I wrote to set up your strawman: Also, here's an interesting, albeit long, look behind the curtain at the Big Ten HQ before and after former Vikings COO Warren began his transformation. More drama and intrigue than expected, and the AD's even contemplated a mutiny. Looking like his and Fox's vision is to turn it into more of a pro style league When someone writes that the article they are linking to is long, most would not expect Cliff Notes of the whole thing. Not the first time you've heavily edited a quote to play games. What's your deal? (no Pete Carroll)
  8. That stupid bitch killed a man when she fell asleep while driving but cried her way into a suspended sentence: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-12-01/tas-driver-gets-suspended-sentence-for-fatal-crash/6991264
  9. "Hey Siri, what would the Astros offer in exchange for..." Seems like it would be better to ask Click instead.
  10. This is a fun read, it appears the SECrant is fed up with their ags, and Daniel Figeerilli shows up for some immediate abuse: https://www.secrant.com/rant/sec-football/the-sec-should-consider-an-even-trade-aggie-for-utep/103471496/ Miners FIGHT!And unlike certain four year institutions in Texas, we have a natty since Nagasaki got put in the microwave.
  11. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-ten-evaluating-cal-oregon-stanford-and-washington-from-pac-12-as-further-expansion-considered/ Dodd types a lot, and I often wonder if many of his 'sources' are actually low level types. So FWIW: ...Industry sources tell CBS Sports that Cal, Oregon, Stanford and Washington would not bring requisite value as the 16 teams that will make up the league in 2024 with USC and UCLA in the fold. That could lead to the four programs taking substantially less revenue than existing members just to have long-term security in the Big Ten. The revenue cut taken by Cal, Oregon, Stanford and Washington in joining the Big Ten -- compared to other conference members -- would need to be "significant," industry sources say. That would present a headache to rightsholders trying to restructure a deal already in place. However, the revenue those four teams could receive would still likely be far higher than the combined value of the 10 remaining Pac-12 schools together. That number is estimated as $21 million to $30 million per school annually... ...College athletics sources reached out to CBS Sports concerned with the tenor of Warren's address Wednesday. They believed, even if Warren was going to be aggressive in further expansion, keeping it to himself instead of sending ripples of worry through college athletics might have been a sounder move... ...Asked for his requirements in pursuing new members, Warren went down his checklist. "Goodness of fit. That's more the holistic viewpoint," Warren told CBS Sports. "Under that, it's the academic stability. Two, the athletic strength. Three, their alumni base. Four, their fan base. Five, the progressive nature of their leadership. That's what made USC and UCLA so special..." ...The Big 12 is also zeroing on westward expansion with Arizona, at least, according to sources. There is no indication if Arizona State would follow, though CBS Sports previously reported that ASU, Colorado and Utah were the Big 12's targets. San Diego State is in play for both the Pac-12 and Big 12, sources indicate... --- Also, here's an interesting, albeit long, look behind the curtain at the Big Ten HQ before and after former Vikings COO Warren began his transformation. 12. Was Jake the outfielder that Dusty kept refusing to play right after callup?
  13. Part of Nebraska is in the mountain time zone.
  14. Silver lining: No more late nite games except for a weekend in Sept.
  15. There can be no doubt that Fiers gave the A's pictures and receipts.
  16. Crap, I don't see Altuve! Rumor he fell of the Golden Gate Bridge!
  17. Good for him and his family. Really weird that people get mad at others who chose to offer to adopt in certain situations. His family, their choice, right?
