  2. Next made a taco out of the meat and some shredded quesadilla cheese. Got the skimmed-off fat hot in the skillet and crisped the tacos. Served with some beans I had been cooking all day. Pretty dang good. The kids even ate it. I think next time I will throw in a few chilis de arbol to spice it up a bit. Easy enough.

  3. You've just told us that you have zero fucking idea how "liberty" works. When your exercise of your "liberty" impacts OTHERS (such as making it more likely that you'll transmit a deadly illness, and much more likely that you'll 1) use limited medical resources, meaning they won't be available for others who need them, and 2) you'll impose the costs of your decisions on others, either through government payment for your treatment OR through payment by private insurance pools of which the rest of us are a part and have to fund), then it's not fucking "freedom." It's petulant childishness where YOU get the "freedom," but the REST OF US bear a bunch of the consequences. Pick up a copy of "On Liberty," and come back when you have read and understand it.

  4. Yeah I would just feel so terrible for Alabama if they lost a title game in large part because of a poorly timed injury.

  5. Yes, I'm sure nothing has changed in booster involvement from /checks notes/ 3 athletic directors ago. I'm also sure that Kelsey learned everything there is to know from what I am sure her massive responsibilities were as what I assume was an unpaid intern. Just great fucking analysis there, Chip, you fucking out of control drinking and gambling fuck.

  7. Honestly I don't think Neyor would've had as much playing time with Worthy, Addison, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp.

  9. I agree with a lot of this, but you've got to be kidding me with the bolded. The loudest and angriest--and most willing to make a scene--are undoubtedly the "masks are useless" crowd. I've yet to see anyone yell at someone to wear a mask. It's almost always Mr. Independent Thinker flipping out on the poor 17 year old door greeter for asking him to please put on his mask before entering.

  13. One of my best friends dad grew up in GA and is die hard Dawg. I play golf with him all the time, been to 2 UF v UGA games with him and went to the USOpen with him this year. He’s 77 years old and was hospitalized this week with a life threatening event. He’s at home in his recliner enjoying every minute of it. And I’m happy for him.

  15. Reporting back. First, thanks to @686 and to @BabaYaga for the help and advice. And thanks to all for all the other kind words. Second, IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE DALLAS SAFARI CLUB'S ANNUAL CONVENTION, PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR FOR 2023. Holy shit that was awesome. Almost everything you can imagine; if it can be shot or caught, you can plan it there. Plus gear and guns (integrally suppressed lightweight mountain guns, anyone?). Even stuff for your farm/ranch. 882 companies on the exhibitor list. Plus the, ahem, talent was off the charts; 10s were everywhere, and I'm talking about the attendees. Hot chicks love alpha males, and apparently DSC is where hot chicks go to find alpha males. Third, the mission. I had 19 exhibitors targeted. Express UU Bar happened to be the first I spoke with, as they were right by the entrance. They were booked up with returning clients for the next few years, but Pat was the nicest guy, very knowledgeable, and all-in to help me accomplish the mission. He taught me what I needed to know about my search, referred me to a few exhibitors, and took my info to ask around up there. So, shout out to them. After two days of searching and considering all options/factors, I chose Royal Rut Ranch in Eagle Mountain, UT. I needed a hunt with a very high probability of success on a 300-400 bull elk, and after meeting the owner and his wife, I was sold. I have a close friend who was just coming along for the ride, but after attending DSC with me, he's decided to pull the trigger, too. So, I've officially embarked on the mission to take a trophy bull elk this fall - I mailed the deposit check today. I get to do this in the 30th year of my father's passing, using the rifle he never got to use (fuck cancer), and it will take place over what would have been my father's 94th birthday. I'm so fortunate to be able to honor my father and his friends like this. Let's get to it.

  17. 837,000 dead Americans and you dumb fucking idiots acting evolved and rational because now (due to the incredible selfishness and shitheadedness of people like you, the true plague on our nation) it really is too late to do anything but live with it is priceless. The only people you are fooling is yourselves, get fucked. To be clear - the people I’m talking about know who they are, and yes at some point hopefully soon we move on. I’m all for insurance companies gouging the idiots and companies showing them the door.

  25. From FCB: Sources close to the situation told Horns247 Patterson met Friday with Texas coach Steve Sarkisian and the UT coaching staff, toured the Longhorns’ football complex in the south end of DKR and had a productive, positive meeting. Patterson, who turns 62 on Feb. 13, was the head coach at TCU for 21 years with a record of 181-79, winning six conference championships, before being let go when the Horned Frogs fell to 3-5 following a loss to Kansas State on Oct. 30. TCU finished the 2021 season 5-7 and hired SMU coach Sonny Dykes to replace Patterson. Patterson has long been considered one of the best defensive minds in college football and knows Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowskifrom their days competing against each other when TCU was in the Mountain West and Kwiatkowski was at Boise State under Chris Petersen. Kwiatkowski was the defensive line coach at Boise State when the Broncos defeated TCU 17-10 in the Fiesta Bowl capping the 2009 season, when the Horned Frogs finished 12-1. Patterson, however, brings more to the Texas football program than expertise on defense or how to scout Big 12 opponents. Patterson has an excellent working knowledge of how the Texas program works, including booster involvement, thanks to his wife, Kelsey, who worked for former UT athletic director DeLoss Dodds when she was a student at Texas. Kelsey then went on to work for Lincoln Properties, a highly successful real estate company run by Texas booster Bill Duval. Gary Patterson also still has a close relationship with Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte, who served as Patterson’s athletic director at TCU from 2009-17. That stretch included a 13-0 season in 2010 (capped by a Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin), two 12-1 seasons as well as the Horned Frogs transition to the Big 12 in 2012. In other words, depending on how the Sarkisian-Patterson relationship develops, Patterson could serve as a quasi-general manager for Sarkisian in assisting with athletic department matters, booster relations and much more than just football. According to source who knows Patterson well, Patterson “is excited about helping Texas and Steve Sarkisian any way he can.”

  26. People like you are the reason mandates and vaccine passports are necessary. You are too stupid and selfish to do what is needed to get us out of a pandemic. Maybe you should post at TexAgs or TigerDroppings. You will find those are more your speed. Hell, they might even give you money like you asked for here.
