  1. A few things that might be worth reading. I've been kind of slammed in both business and family stuff for a while, so forgive me if this is old stuff. Just trying to pass on some things for those interested. Arch Manning likes Austin first, second, and third, Athens fourth. The parents and extended family haven't really voiced opinions in favor of or counter to anything Arch is thinking at this point, at least that anyone around this recruitment knows about so far. The trip to Tuscaloosa probably winds up telling that tale. No news is good news after that visit. Flood appears relatively high on Cajoe and Stroh but other folks around this stuff feel less enthused. Cajoe could be someone that pulls the trigger soon, so it should be interesting watching how folks view it. ATM got the fastball by everyone in the last cycle. Georgia, Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, they all kind of "knew" that ATM was rumored to be pushing their chips all in, but no one was expecting Nolan to get $750k and Stewart to come in around $500k. Denver Harris will get $50k per semester as long as he's at ATM (and producing). No one was ready to match those numbers. That won't be true in this cycle. For certain, Georgia and Alabama have war chests confirmed. There's also a seriously negative sentiment wafting its way through the sport right now about how it all was handled in the last cycle. Sour grapes? I don't know. What I do know is that there are a lot of people around programs that have actually won shit who do not think much of the nouveau riche cheese that ATM is bringing to the landscape right now. They may think "don't care, got Jimbo", but that same thing is what other people are talking about -- getting Jimbo. Finally, from the above board side of this stuff, which is how everything will be couched going forward, whether legitimate or otherwise, there's a chance on multiple fronts for big time traction for Texas NIL efforts at the moment, including today, so wish ourselves a lot of luck.

  2. Ouch, baby, very ouch. While I'm here, might as well respond to this bullshit. I read the article. Hill is despised by many because she is a racebaiting know-nothing who insists on forcing her politics and "every white person is a racist" worldview into everything she does. So fuck her and anyone supporting that shit. She's also fundamentally wrong. Outside of the Hollywood handbag-swinging, pearl-clutching white elitists living in a fucking bubble, and the bubble celebrities are living in on Twitter and Insta, white America doesn't give any more of a fuck about the incident than black America or any other demographically-sliced America. Twitter isn't America. The only actual conversations most people are having about that incident are the entertaining ones surrounding the shock aspects of it coupled with the bizarre premise in which Rock did nothing in the aftermath. This isn't a racial issue, no matter how badly a bunch of politically obsessed mouthbreathers want to make it.

  3. Today is the 34th day of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine -- and the cold war super power feared by so many has only managed to take and hold some eastern fringes of the Ukraine while getting pantsed by Ukrainian farmers. To put that into perspective, Nazi Germany had completely defeated Poland within 35 days back in 1939. We also have not been drug into WW3 and no nukes have been fired. All in all, good job, good guys.

  4. spent the weekend with my folks who live in the Dallas area for only the second time since before shutdown. they both grew up catholic and have been relatively conservative their whole lives. Trump and GQP changed all of that. my mom is now pro-choice. my dad no longer believes being gay is preference. they know "illegals" aren't ruining the state - Abbott, Paxton, Cruz, et al are. They used to pull the R lever but now they are going to vote in the R primary runoff in another attempt to oust Paxton. If that doesn't work, they plan to vote straight D in the general. none of this prompted by me or my sister. they somehow saw past the bullshit and made it out the other side. there is hope. maybe only a little, but it is there.

  5. Yeah. Totally. Actual recorded calls of him attempting to overturn election counts in Georgia, all of the existing civil and criminal suits against him, video of him firing flashbangs on peacefully protesting citizens for a photo op, audio of him admitting he knew how bad covid would be to Woodward a month before it really hit the US, but this...this actual record of silence with nothing being said will be his undoing. Totally. No sarcasm here at all. This isn't 1970's America, where integrity and principles regardless of aisle side still existing by our elected officials, where the news was still relatively unbiased thanks to the existence of the fairness doctrine, when politics wasn't a complete team sport, when social media didn't exist and people lived in online bubbles of disinformation. 7 hours of silence doesn't mean shit.

  6. There you are.... Standing there having lost all the things you held dear in life. Man, people go into a murderous rage simply from finding out their significant other cheated on them and you think they wouldn't if they lost all of them? I would kill as many Russians as I could with gritted teeth. Why? Because I have nothing left to live for except extinguishing their lives, that's why. Right now my fear is only not being able to come home to my family. Not seeing my wife's smiling face. Not seeing my daughter play sports. Take that away from me and you just uncapped a rage that would likely only be extinguished when my casket is lowered in the ground.

  19. Donald Trump and a majority of the Republican party attempted a coup. They continue to cover it up, obstruct its investigation, and vote against any accountability. Any person that denies these facts or continues to support the Republican party is a huge fucking delete from my life.

  21. No I didn’t use questionable language. First off this is surly. Second, you’re the only one who is making an issue if this. Third, since when do you need gays to hold a sign that says “I’m gay” for you? Once again, you cannot deflect from something you’re right about. You know I’m right. You chose for some dumbass reason to get your ass all flaky over a post I had considering the rest of the posts in this thread and on this website? Did you go apeshit the hundreds of times the word “faggot” was used here? No, you didn’t yet saying someone is the gay of their family is now all of a sudden eliciting righteousness? Fuck outta here bro.

  24. Being friends with some Norwegians, including some members of the Norwegian military, there is a 200% chance that this sign was put up because there was a rash of Norgies pissing towards Russia. Our sweet and lovely exchange student ended up serving in the Norwegian military, working base security. When I asked her what she actually did on a daily basis, she wouldn't give me details. I said, okay, give me the big picture, what do you do, do you sit in a guard booth. "No." So what do you do? She smiles -- "I hunt Russians." When you hear that from a gal who functionally looks like this....you know the Russians are fucked. Also, before she went back home, I taught her to shoot. She, ummm, knows how to shoot REALLY well now. As do many of her friends.

  26. I tend to agree. Nixon had definite personal faults and disorders, but I think he fundamentally respected the government and was trying to do his best for his country. Of course, his personal faults perverted that. I was thinking about this in the context of whether the "nation needs to heal" as was said when Ford pardoned him. I think that was probably a correct thing to do, because while Watergate was corrupt and disgusting, it had more to do with Richard M. Nixon as a flawed person than with an attack on the institutions of the United States of America. January 6 is a different deal from Watergate. It was the culmination of a politician and political movement that aims to destroy the United States of America as it has been heretofore known. Trump and his ilk need to be fully exposed and punished.
