A ton of good has come out of it, if you're not Russian. Europe has regained its senses regarding Russian expansionism. NATO is stronger than ever. Finland has abandoned any pretense of neutrality. A source of heinous misinformation that has sought to divide and conquer the West, including our own country, has been brought to its knees. China, once ready to rattle sabers over Taiwan, is now afraid. As they well should be. Fear is a great deterrence. Yes, Russia has slaughtered hundreds of innocent Ukrainian civilians. All the more reason to stop them now before they go even further. And from all signs, we should have done this long, long ago.18 points

As veteran from the Desert Storm era, I personally didn’t have any counterparts/service members KIA within my unit during DS. I’ve had members “pass” during training duty and that was rough enough. Hats-off to those that served while their unit members fell during combat, regardless of the action and era. Heart felt gratitude to all of those that had family, friends, and acquaintances fall during their service to our country. May their family and friends remember their fond memories of the service member’s lives and cherish those. Thank you for their service! Hook’em!!!17 points

You have points I don't always agree with for sure, but at least there is effort into them and it's not straight contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. I'm quite certain I have thoughts not everyone will agree with either, and I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always right, in fact far from it. At the end of the day, when someone takes the opposite side strictly for the sake of it people can immediately get a sense of the disingenuous nature of it. I think the vast majority of people here, right, wrong, indifferent are least attempting to express their genuine thoughts. With Mullet, I don't get that sense at all, and it's very transparent in my opinion.16 points

I've read estimates that they can produce 70ish missiles a month, while they still we estimated to have a few hundred previously stockpiled. This tracks but also doesn't consider that some of these strikes are from the KH family for tactical warheads with ballast installed instead of warheads, which we know they are also using. What is remarkable, is even with their dwindling supply and limited ability to produce more, they still don't target military targets. This is incredibly stupid considering that somewhere the Ukrainians are mashing formations and these could be used to target them in lieu of civilians. This says a couple of important things, 1 The Russian intel systems must be utter shit, I mean way worse than anyone thought to include satellite surveillance. The Ukrainian work to hide their movements I"m sure are good, but what it really indicates is just how shitty the Russian abilities are and that they are generations upon generations behind in our satellite technology. 2. It shows that a politician of a singular mentality is in control and not a seasoned military professional. Putin knows only one way to try to get his way when things go to shit, and that's terrorism. A real strategic thinker wouldn't waste resources in this way. Lastly, and most importantly, these continued strikes prove the need for the extermination of the existing system of government in Russia. Patton was an asshole 75 years ago, but it didn't mean he wasn't right, and he still is.15 points

The thing is, Khan, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. Don't... don't care? It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my turban off and Talitech ships a few extra bombs, I don't get one more virgin in the afterlife, so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Khan: I have eight different Mullahs now. I beg your pardon? Eight Mullahs. Eight? Eight, Khan. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me it's haram. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled... that and the fear of Jahannam. But you know, Khan... that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get executed for blasphemy.14 points

I could be described as a “Reagan Republican”, a “right wing reactionary”, even. I have no illusions that the so-called “MSM” sees things the way I do. Yet, I disagree that the MSM is discredited. The MSM isn’t dishonest. When it reports a lie, it credits the lie to the liar (both parties). (“Senator Joe Scnhlabotnik’s spokesman said the Senator was not in the company of the murdered prostitutes that night”). It usually corrects those lies when the truth comes out. As a conservative, my issues with the MSM are over what it chooses to report or not report, not it’s accuracy. I disagree with your statement that the MSM is discredited. It is a source of information, and it reports accurately. Now, RT? Zerohedge? Tucker Carlson? Propaganda and lies (lies reported as truths) abound there, as near as I can tell.13 points

Just a reminder that this is at least the 6th account GRUHorn/Mullet has used to spread pro-Russia disinformation. It goes back years. GRUhorn-> Satoshi->Immaculate Vibes-> Caponata->Humble Beast->Mullet Free When we finally run off this account, he'll be right back with another one, so be vigilant. The fact that he's still openly trolling on this thread and the CR one suggests he knows his cover is blown and is ready to move on to the next username. He's exhibited a similar pattern with each of the 5 known accounts we've banned. He's either paid to do this, or is pathologically fucked up and craves being embarrassed by his intellectual superiors. Either way, watch for his new account, because he won't/can't stop spreading pro-Russia disinformation.10 points

The Ukrainian reporting has overwhelmingly been pretty accurate. The Russian narrative has been as reliable as the Iraqi information minister. You're treating the Ukrainian side as dubious because you're either willfully ignorant or completely retarded.10 points

Supposedly they can build about 20-24 new tanks a month (T-90s). While also supposedly repairing/restoring and fielding around 90 a month, estimates I have seen could be anywhere around 1,500-3,900. They lost an average of 150 a month, so at most, they have 2 years left, and with each passing month, we'll see older and older tanks sprinkled in with the new T-90s they can produce each month. Edit: I should add, I'm being very generous to them with the numbers I've seen about how many they can pull out of storage that are useable. Also, this doesn't even include the upcoming tank battles between modern Western tanks when they arrive and start being used in full force, so the 150-a-month number might go up.10 points

FYI, I left the trail after about 300 miles. Many reasons. It was an amazing adventure, but a thru hike doesn't align with my values, so I'm making my goal a multi-year section hike. Planning on going back in July to meet up with a couple of my hiking buds, probably in NorCal.8 points
