If your Bingo card has SpaceX sued by USDOJ using Elmo's own tweets as evidence, congrats.

Elon Musk’s reckless tweeting has once again come back to bite him. The New Republic

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against SpaceX on Wednesday, alleging that the company discriminated against refugees and asylees. And it cited one of Musk’s own tweets as proof.

LMGDAO. There will be many more lawsuits just like this one.

Anyone have any experience with this? I have an employee that buys cars in online auctions for personal use and to flip. The ones he buys are "rebuilt titles" which my limited research means were in a bad enough wreck for the insurance company to declare total loss but someone has done repairs to make them safe for return to road. He recently got one that I am considering for my son. The Carfax report shows the date of the collision but no info other than right front damage, had to be towed, and no airbag deployed.  I have looked it over and driven it, it has lane assist and brake assist, back up camera, etc so many more safety features than the older cars I've looked at on FB marketplace, autotrader etc and at dealers.  Drives well and no shimmy at high speeds and only 70K miles for a 2020 vehicle.

    Questions

If you've purchased one or more of these what was your experience?

He's selling it for 2K under the carfax "fair market" and I assume the carfax value accounts for the rebuilt title status is that correct?

Is it likely that any structural damage remains that the repair shop patched over enough to pass the required certification?

Should I and where would I take it for an independent evaluation, and what would that likely cost?

There should be a 30% reduction in price at a minimum due to a rebuilt car. Just remember he bought this to make a profit which means the car is "safe enough".

You can fix that, or at least make it tolerable (see Jalen Hurts). The problem is Milroe's decision making. He is indecisive which neutralizes his natural physical gifts.

We (Bama) are going to run the ball 2000 times against Texas.

I do think y'all are going back to that style of ball.

Ad litems have fucked over plenty of good parents over the years and are just as shitty as any other family lawyer. They should be kept out of all legal proceedings as they do jack shit other than run up the costs of a custody battle.

kind of a wtf moment but the ad litem for my father when I was applying for conservatorship was a family friend who charged more for that than the attorney I  hired. We were in judge's chambers and my attorney looked at him and said really and my buddy backed off a few hundred. In his defense he had to drive 2 hours to see him and 2 hours back.

I’m unsure if the NCAA would have allowed a college player to receive money from a book and/or film deal. I realize the movie came out once he was already drafted in the NFL but the deals would had been struck at least a year or two earlier. While he was a 2007 or 2008 player. Rules were different then.

and while the family could have look to structured some type of deal to give him cash later on, even conservators aren’t required to help an adult. Oher earned over $34m in the NFL so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was ok, at the time, that the rest of the family made money from the film.

also it’s a bit coincidental that this news came out as he just released a book. I hope he was smart with his NFL earnings but history says that there is a decent chance he’s broke with few prospects.

He is worth $16 million. I think he was incredibly naive thinking people really cared about him but he doesn’t deserve to get nothing for them whoring him out.

That's a fair point.  The agent should have been questioning the conservatorship, the need for it, and any income/revenue from the film.

Most financial affairs conservatorships are premised on the idea that the ward can't handle his business and the conservator needs to handle it for him.  So that would tend to mean not only the film but any NFL related matters a sports agent would handle.

Also, in Texas and most places, an attorney is appointed for the potential ward to evaluate the fundamental fairness and need for a conservatorship, called a guardian ad litem.  In some of these elder abuse scandals, I discovered Nevada, among other places, did not have such a provision.  Tennessee may be or have been another.

In Tennessee, an ad litem is appointed and I think it’s a great thing.

Interesting. Simpson was a highly ranked recruit, but came from a 2A school in West Tennessee where he was coached by his dad. Dual threat guy. I guess they think Milroe is a lost cause, but Simpson making the start against us in a prime time game of the week feels a little like Colt McCoy getting the start against Ohio State in 2006. At least Milroe has started a game in that environment before.

If Simpson starts you guys will beat their fuck in.

The similarities of Texas and Tennessee since the late 2000’s are eerie. The only difference is the one year of Kiffin. They both had a longtime coach who was a great recruiter, not so great game day coach, who out talented everyone but would lose to a big rival (OU and Florida), then both got over the hump and won a BCS Championship. They both passed their sell by date and were ousted. Skip the Kiffin year. Strong and Dooley had the identical record in their respective three years. Butch Jones and Tom Herman both gave the appearance of a return to prominence before imploding.

Really hoping Sark doesn’t mirror Pruitt even though their records for their first two seasons are identical. Sark seems to be handling everything off the field light years better than Pruitt so far.

I think you got a good one with Heupel, possibly a great one. He really reminds me of when Spurrier hit the league in 1990.

One more thing with Heupel. He is such a dork but a genuine dude. We were all pissed at first but halfway through his first season we all realized he was solid. I cannot believe the disgusting fat body pulled it off.

He won us over against Ole Miss when we were fucked on some calls and the fans threw shit. Prior to the press conference after the game he asked the AD what could he say and he was told if you criticize the fanbase you won’t survive here.

yeah, it was wrong but Kiffin stoked it up
