Tech wins B12 regular season and conference championship tournament over Arizona. $1M plus and NIL to other transfers brings success. Regardless, I like and respect Glasco, happy for him.

Edit: SECN+ Rain delay.

Championship game moved to 12PM today due to weather, ESPN+ if interested.

Arkansas leads the conference in fielding (.981) and thus far are making great plays. We are at .971 probably the highest in the MW era. https://www.secsports.com/sport/softball/stats (may have to click to get in right area) Above are conference only pitching stats. TK holds her on in most areas except opponents batting average. There is definitely reason to be concerned about her performance this year but as known there has been a significant increase in the level of competition. Perhaps the analytics of the approach to SEC hitters and of course the execution was not up to a championship level. TK and the coaches need to improve. As a team we are 2nd in the SEC with a 4.44 era. When an over 4 era is 2nd it makes a statement about the hitting.

Canady and Tech vs Baylor, 4th inn, no score on ESPN+ if interested before our game.

Lengthy article, Vic has comments on the new additions. (excerpt) https://eu.statesman.com/story/sports/college/longhorns/womens-basketball/2025/05/07/texas-womens-basketball-vic-schaefer-longhorns-roster-transfer-portal/83437930007/

D1 Chat excerpts. Surprised there were no "Texas overrated" "Texas easy schedule" comments after the debacle in Arkansas. In fact, no Texas comments in the chat. Do you actually believe there are 6 teams better than Arkansas, or is that just a ranking reflective of the past 4 weeks of results? Vegas has Hogs as title favorites. I would probably put the Hogs as my personal title favorite, too -- I said as much on the podcast today. But yes, they paid a bit of a price in the rankings for losing three straight series before this week. At this point in the season, the rankings aren't just "who do we think is the best team" -- that's what they are in the preseason. But now we have 12 weeks of results to draw upon, so even if we think a team is the best, we have to consider its entire body of work, especially in the last month. So Arkansas had a very loud weekend, and has had a great season, but we couldn't exactly jump them up to No. 1 given the results of the last month.\ Who do you guys see as the current front runner for SEC POTY? As a hog fan, I'm obviously leaning towards Wehiwa Aloy, but wanted to see who else you guys have in mind. I think I also lean toward Wehiwa, considering the numbers he is putting up while playing a premium position for one of the best teams. Ike Irish actually leads the league in OPS in conference games, I think he is emerging as a top contender as well. Luke Heyman has flown under the radar but has put up huge numbers in conference play. And maybe Rylan Galvan, considering how much he means to Texas, and the excellent numbers in SEC play while playing the most demanding position on the diamond. That's my list of top guys, but there are plenty of others Is Tennessee's staff after Marcus Phillips on Saturday and Sunday a real point of concern for the Vols? I think it is. I think I wrote this after the LSU series, but as much as I like Doyle and Phililps, the arms at the backend of the bullpen do not scare me. Sure, Franklin and Snead throw hard, but Snead doesn't miss enough bats for my liking -- just 19 strikeouts in 26 innings in league play with premium velocity. Kuhns will be really good in the future, but he's just OK right now. Yes, it's definitely a concern for me. What's the latest on the House Settlement and roster counts for next season? It's expected to be approved in the next couple of weeks. What will be interesting is if Judge Wilken rules that the roster limits will be a gradual change or an immediate change -- administrators want an immediate rip the band-aid off approach. With a pivotal series against Vandy on the horizon, how crucial is it for Tennessee to secure a series win to bolster their hosting chances and regain confidence? The Vols are definitely leaking oil, and considering they finish the regular season with a road series at Arkansas, I definitely think it is critical for them to win this home series vs. Vandy. But you know they're going to get up for that one. If Vandy goes in there and wins it, the Commodores could be in danger of losing six of their final seven series to finish the regular season, and that just doesn't feel host-worthy. We're getting 14 SEC teams, right? A&M and Mississippi State both have Mizzou left, while UK gets to the 13-win threshold by winning one of their last two series or not getting swept plus taking a game in Hoover. I would lean 14 SEC teams as of today, but I just have a weird feeling someone out of that league gets snubbed on Selection Monday If Florida wins 1 against Texas and 2 or 3 against Alabama I think they're in the NCAA Tournament what do you think? With its RPI in a great spot, the Gators are easily in the tournament, IMO, with 13 wins. Let's not forget about the non-conference series win the Gators also have against a Miami team who is near the top of the ACC standings at the moment. Missouri hasn't gone to regional since joining the SEC. Now, they're on pace to go 0-30. Meanwhile, Texas, albeit a blue blood has waltzed into the league and looks to on the way to a regular season title and OU will also be in a regional. What is holding Mizzou back from being even respectable? Tiger -- Missouri will not win at a high level in baseball until it actually treats baseball like a legitimate sport from a financial perspective. Missouri's facilities are not good and the administration has not shown - in any shape or form -- that they have a plan to support baseball. I did like that Laird Veatch (the AD) came out last week saying baseball needs to be supported at a high level, but he gave no specifics. I'm intrigued to see those specifics in the near future. If not -- Missouri will continue to struggle (albeit, probably not THIS bad). Is 13 conference wins the magic number for the Aggies? What will be critical for the Ags to do to comfortably make the tournament? I think the Aggies are in with 13 given those marquee series wins over Arkansas, LSU and Tennessee, but again, I would prefer, if I'm A&M, to get to 14-15 to leave no doubt. You do NOT want to go into Selection Monday hoping teams in other conference tournaments win, lose, etc.... that's not a fun spot to be in. How close is UTSA to being in the Top 25? Being 18-3 in the AAC along with a 37-10 overall record, No. 21 RPI and clinching at least a share of the conference title, what is holding them back from the other teams in the Top 25? Daniel -- glad you asked this, because I think the world of Pat Hallmark as a head coach. Love what the Roadrunners have, specifically from an offensive standpoint, but what's holding them back right now is that they don't have a series win over a team that will sniff the NCAA tournament as of yet. That's just a tough rankable resume. What do you make of the recent struggles for the LSU offense? They have looked so off as of late. And the first thing everyone wants to do is to "tip their cap" to the opposing pitcher--but up to last week vs Texas, Praeger was getting crushed. Lamkin was giving up a ton of runs too. LSU couldn't do anything on them, and Sunday they didn't exactly look like world beaters either. I think Prager, Lamkin and Patton have gotten much better. Prager's metrics were better and his velocity was up, Lamkin has been very good at times this year and Patton is just a typical Sunday pitchability lefthander who doesn't allow much hard contact. As much as I like the overall talent in LSU's offensive lineup, there are few guys in that lineup that just scare the you know what out of me. I love Bear Jones, but he can be pitched to right now. Curiel had somewhat of a freshman-esque weekend, but he's a stud. Ethan Frey had some really good ABs. But outside of those guys, who scares you in LSU's lineup right now? Milam is a really solid overall player but he has struggled offensively in league play. Is the SEC going to do anything over how poorly the umpiring has been? Are they even aware that their umpires are calling strikes on pitches that cross into the opposing batter's box? I'm an LSU fan and loved that 9th inning strikeout that Eyanson got, but the ball was literally in the other batter's box. It was such a terrible call at such a crucial point in the game. I hope the SEC does, and I hope all leagues do. You guys know me -- I don't like to bitch and moan about umpires. Those guys have a really difficult job to do. But some of those strike zones that I have seen over the past few weeks are an absolute joke (and it's usually for both teams playing the game).

A google search will reveal a myriad of projections, mostly unreliable. D1 and On3 have projections behind a paywall. Can't recall which but one had us as a 3 seed behind OU and aggy with Washington here as a 2 seed. Others had Nebraska or Virginia here as a 2 seed. Florida may be a tough out. Argument can be made at present they are the hottest team in the league. RPI after regular season (could not prevent large print) https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d1/ncaa-womens-softball-rpi

Watched the LSU game. Eyanson tossed a 3 hitter for LSU, only 112 pitches for 9 innings. Prager and Lampkin are very talented. Lampkin was pulled after allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. But they brought in Caden McCoy, freshman from Bloomington, Ind who was impressive, iirc only 2 hits over the final innings. This is the time of the year when the cream rises to the top or not. Pitchers begin to find their groove. Today's schedule. https://www.secsports.com/schedule/baseball

I checked, same size as the Disch. Outfield seating seems to make it look smaller. Ark is 3rd in SEC with 97 HRs. Ga (117) Tenn (100) We have 70. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baum–Walker_Stadium

@Js1 Seems Tenn will do everything to not complete the 3rd game ? They would finish at 15-8 in the top 4. A loss tied with Arkansas. If Arkansas can sweep LSU they would be 15-9 with a tiebreaker vs Tenn. If we lose to Ky also would be 15-9, tiebreaker to be determined, win and we are in but would play OU ?

Only in our minds 4 year Senior, tossed a 1 hitter yesterday vs Tenn, good career.

aggy up 5-0 over Tenn after 1.5, weather delay. Strong t'storms till 10PM. Showers also forecast for Saturday. Kennedy pitching for aggy, Tenn using their 3rd starter and now the 'pen. Florida with a grand slam off Deal to lead 5-1 over OU, after 2.5

Tenn vs aggy DH today at 1PM
