Thanks for the input guys. I was thinking about buying local at Bernard Watch as its down the street from my office. I know I'd pay sales tax but I have more comfort buying local. I did see some brand new watches at Jomashop for really good prices and no tax, but was a little spooked of buying online. Here's an example:

Thinking about picking up a seamaster as my first “nice” watch. I’m located in Austin. Does it make sense to spend the extra $500 or so to buy from an AD with a warranty? Would like a Rolex but understand that market is borked

Anyone have thoughts on a LA bull red fly rod setup? I have an orvis 7wt and a scott 8wt, would like this next rod to be good for bull reds in Louisiana and big permit/smaller tarpon in Belize.
Have been thinking about another scott in 10wt plus a nautilus reel.
Got a 10 wt sector and an Abel SDS (probably the one troph passed on at sportsman’s finest…)

The answer is tree fiddy come on guys. I can cast it tree fiddy feet.
actually I’m averaging just under 40 I think but the loop is getting tighter. That 12wt is heavy it’s not as much finesse as a 5/6wt cast on a river 20-25 feet. you actually have to put your body into it (that’s what she said). I’ve gotten to 54 feet with a tight loop by my calculation. With the weight of it aiming is easier though. Also avoiding the tangle more and more should be a nonissue by next practice session.
not in Dallas don’t have a close by body of water so the field has to work. I may take it out on the boat or too the dock this weekend by our under construction home.
Do you know how to double haul? If not that's probably worth learning - huge help with saltwater fly fishing.

Please tell me what kind of idiot gives their REAL id to a high school kid making minimum wage at the kayak stand? I'd have thought you might understand how important your REAL id is but apparently you have no fucking clue what kind of REAL shit you carry around in your pocket

Went kayaking with older sister yesterday on Lady Bird Lake. We got in a kayak for one hour, and the business misplaced her id. We both figured out at the same time what they should do, call everybody who left the business while we were on the lake and tell them to check to see if they have the correct id. Business slowly agreed with us.
On the lake from 10 to 11 a.m. Hung around until my sister got what she needed, wrt promises, maybe 12:30 p.m. The id was delivered to my sister around 3:30 p.m. Hour of kayaking was free. No request necessary.
Here is what I think happened. Being around water, I think her id was stuck to the back of someone's id. At one point while employees were looking all of the id's were stacked together Our scope of problem solving was too narrow at first. We thought business had given her id to someone with the same or similar name. Business reported no names similar. Business has cameras, good. Employee reported to us while she talked to a manager; manager saw on camera the employee put the id in the correct spot, and did not see anybody give out ids from that spot. maybe.
We were a good team. I demanded to see a gm in person, told them we weren't leaving, etc. She was waaay too nice, but effective. She got them to agree to text, call, and email those 20 people. She got the GM to agree to sign a statement in front of notary(my idea) saying they misplaced the id, so she could get a new id if necessary.
Other than hiring employees who do a better job, only thing I can think of is that if I am ever in the process of giving up my ID, I tell this story? I am good at beating people down with details. Also, maybe have a lanyard attached to id, and refuse to remove lanyard?
Honestly, I don't think I am every giving up my REAL id anytime, ever. I mean at least with the airlines, you can see them holding your ID.
interesting.
Remind me to never let you near my business

I bought a new Lariat from Mac Haik Ford back in late March and got about 10% off sticker price. Looking now they have less than half the inventory they did 7 weeks ago and all the trucks are now advertised at sticker price.

In 78731 and my home does not have a gasline...everything is electric. Same with my neighbors. Is a whole home generator feasible for me? I'm guessing I'd need a propane or nat gas storage tank on site as well as the generator?

Have heard from Acho's former teammates that he was an insufferable douche. Anyone remember when he was calling Texas players trash on LHN?

In Austin I used Carl Russo at Sheds and More to built a 10x12 about 4 years ago. Easy to deal with, cheaper than the Tuff Shed franchise, and I got to customize. Has held up well. YMMV.
https://www.shedsandmore.com/I also worked with Carl and my shed is bad ass.

My appraised value went up 35% and my taxable value went up 24%. I have a homestead and called to ask why my increase wasn't capped at 10%....the lady told me it was a "mistake" and would be fixed in a month or so. Fucking racket

Question for the board: How good is the internet at the resorts on Ambergris Cay?
I am an IT person that manages several mission critical systems and I am currently short one member of my team. I am trying to take a week off and go to Belize in late May/early June, but will need to be able to log in and troubleshoot work systems in case of real emergencies.
I don't need a lot in the context of around Austin, but am unfamiliar with Belizian resort wifi quality. Can I expect 3omb internet or am I looking at like 2mb?
Thanks
My last trip was in November 2019, but I'd say it will be spotty and closer to 2mbps than 30mbps

Ill take my time as Im in no hurryHell yes brother...but don't expect many deals on 21s. Inventory is incredibly low and looks to stay that way for a while. You should get top dollar on your 15 though.

2WD or 4WD on your ‘18 XLT? How many miles? $35k is a helluva trade offer ... don’t blame you one bit for jumping on that.It was a 4x4 302a with aftermarket leather added. Only 34K miles. Would have probably had 45-50K miles if covid never happened.

Do Activision/raven software hate themselves and making money?
This latest patch is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever seen. Invisible/invincible players and the stim glitch is back. Also, the foresight killstreak is campers paradise.
yeah this game keeps getting worse. I have a ton of playtime and find myself avoiding the game now
