  1. IF we aren't paired with aggy in their regional, we will definitely be put in the regional that pairs with them for a Super. Right now, I believe that is a SoCal regional. There is no way that the NCAA misses out on the possibility (especially last yr of different conferences) of us and them squaring off to get to Omaha.
  2. Girl from Boerne Champion almost did the same in the 5A finals. She set state records in the 3200 (10.11.40) and 1600 (4.41.36) and came in 5th in the 800. She's only a sophomore. On the Greyhound side (4A), girls high jump top spot was taken by Kendall Lemm at 5'8. She tried for the state record at 5'11 but missed all 3 attempts. Guess I'm definitely in the olds now as her her great-aunt was a Boerne High classmate of mine.
  3. Pretty sure this is what killed the room just outside of Tyler. They were doing it for a promotional/bad beat but most likely some of that or more was going to the owners. Just DUMB. There is a new room in SA (off 281 outside of Loop 1604) that is advertising the same thing. You're right these stupid tactics (greed) could cause added scrutiny for those that are at least following/skirting the gray areas of Texas law. 😡
  4. Not related. Dude was pretty tough after that first inning. was the JUCO CWS Most Outstanding pitcher last yr in leading his team to the title.
  5. And I just heard about this. Been missing good TEXAS sports (and a decent radio station for UT Baseball 😡) since the HORN went away...
  6. Not sure you understand the appeal of not having to drive for an hr (or more) to play cards...when they eventually get all the red tape done and it gets to open, that room will most likely do well. The room in Flint (outside Tyler) was in business for 5 years before being shut down in March '22 by Smith County. They most likely were shut down due to a "promotional rake" the room was taking for high hands or bad-beat jackpots. None were charged with felonies, owners plea bargained down to $500 misdemeanor charges, but the room is still closed. It's too bad cuz there needs to be a legal place to play in that part of the state. You have to drive to Dallas or worse, go to the shithole casinos in Shreveport.
  7. 8 minute mile ? Dude that's called jogging. Bump it up to 5:30-6 minute mile and you'll have your desired effect quickly.
