  1. The WWIIDT fly their own or use others over there in Europe for the jumps they do for the bigger years....40,50th, 75th, 80th etc... https://wwiiadt.org/
  2. That is a great book...Small town in West Virginia. Truly shows the sacrifices made during the war. National Guard troops that were in the first wave on Omaha... hardly a family in town came away unscathed Jake McNiece and his demo squad. The movie The Dirty Dozen was based off him and his "Filthy Thirteen" They suffered such heavy casualties in Normandy and Holland that him and few others decided to join the Pathfinder units thinking they wouldn't be used again and could stay out of more combat. Nope, with troops surrounded in Bastogne, McNiece and his Pathfinders jumped in and then set up the Eureka beacons for follow on drops that gave the 101st, bullets, food, and medical supplies. csb//? the unit I served with is a direct descendant from that team and the other Pathfinder units that dropped into Normandy, Holland, and Operation Varsity (the drop into Germany just across the Rhine) In BOB, showing the jump into Holland, a replacement struggled to get out of his harness, fumbling with the quick release. Bull opened it for him. This quick release was put into the harness after the Airborne found out with their AAR after Normandy that many of the troops drowned in very shallow water (Rommel had flooded the marshes and areas thought to be used as drop zones and landing zones for the gliders) Many of those troops drowned due to the weigh of the equipment they had and with no quick release on their harnesses, they were unable to get out of their gear or even stand up in the shallow marshes. Those quick releases (maybe updated slightly) were still in use 38 yrs later when I went to jump school. I weighed about 150-155 lbs while in and the heaviest ruck (equipment pack) I jumped weighed in at right around 110 lbs. Like Toye said in BOB, I still had my chute, reserve chute, weapon and LBE to add in, so everything total was at least my body weight (or more!) getting up and out the door. Good times! 🤣
  3. Got punched in the face early. But too many mistakes throughout the game. Get em tomorrow hopefully. 🤘 (on another note...what does that stadium hold? Pretty BS they get to play every year they go in front of a crowd that has to be 90% oU fans)
  4. That's all the Florida LF needed to do the other day.... ( just a little jump)
  5. Reese has had a pretty shitty game...
  6. Beat me too it. Going from OKST to there?...One thing and one thing only.
  7. 1st baseman never disputed the call.....she missed her. C'mon
  8. Ol hag Beth slobbering all over blowU
  9. Alright...showing a little life.
  10. Really? Don't flip with your glove...
  11. This ump is terrible......down the middle... ball, inside ....rung up.
  12. Yep. That's right. Forgot about that, but I remember now one of the announcers saying something about that when I was watching some of the rowing last week.
  13. I don't think so. Again, a reason the Stanford has dominated that over the years. They are getting points in sports that other schools don't even have.
  14. I read 27 recently but maybe that was wrong (or I misread). Either way, it's much more impressive for both schools (UT UF) doing it and being competitive with less sports involved.
  15. Bye bye Tigger
  16. They get the majority of their points every year for the Directors Cup by competing in the Olympic (something like 40ish + total) sports. Not sure how many Florida does, but TEXAS competes in 27.
  17. Yes!!! Way to go ladies!🤘🤘
  18. And Gata shouldn't have even made the tourney. Like one game above 500 in the regular season and 13-17 in conference. 🤷‍♂️
  19. I don't think any of them will be back (except for an alumni game). 🤘
  20. There is not a portal thread so I thought I would throw it in here....Gavin Kash is again available, he entered the portal today. (And no, I don't want him or his whiny helicopter dad back).
