  1. We aren't asking him to be perfect, we are asking him to be better than 2/10 for 5 yards in 5 RZ opportunities.
  2. Supposedly Duce Robinson is on a campus somewhere this weekend, wouldn't be shocked if it was him.
  3. I am warming up with Verdugo, we need both of them. Verdugo can likely play against R/L, but Kepler would likely be a strong side platoon guy. I'd feel immensely better about the OF situation with Verdugo, Chas, and Kepler. Then you could use Dezenzo as the platoon partner with Kepler. Meyers can be the 5th OF.
  4. To think we had Tucker's replacement lined up only for our shitty manager at the time to talk the owner out of the solid acquisition of Contreras for Urquidy. Then we scrambled and gave up W. Abreu for a player that Dusty refused to play. This is why you don't let fucking managers and owners dictate personnel moves.
  5. This is why I am against Bregman, you can get two good bats for his projected price point.
  6. Macklemore doesn't understand the fiances of baseball when you are hamstrung with shitty personel decisions and an owner that really is cheap. When you understand that Tucker was never resigning with the Astros and Bregman's contract is abysmal the minute the ink dries you understand why the Astros are doing what they are doing. Anyone thinking that the 3 guys they gave up for Kilkuchi are going to anywhere as good as Cam Smith doesn't understand baseball at a fundamental level. Framber needs to be traded next because you can rebuild your farm system and get major league talent that can help you contend this year in the same deal, we just got that in the deal for Tucker. Clearling off salary and not taking on shitty contracts is how the Astros stay competitive. Really they should have done this with Springer and Correa as well. You had guys ready to replace them, sell high and get another wave of guys that can replace Tucker, Brown, Bregman, etc. Whoever is willing to give you a team discount that is actually good, those are the guys you keep for long term deals and build around them. The problem right now is the $47M that is tied up in Abreu, Montero, and McCullers. None of that is the fault of our current GM. If the Astros had that money, then this off-season would be completely different, but then again the Astros are not a team that is going to give out massive long term contracts that hinder their future investments, nor should they. If we get serioulsy involved with Santander, a 5-year deal is where I would draw the line. 34 is a good age range to not want 3+ more years committed to a player, unless they are the face of the franchise, you let him retire as a only Astro, ala Bagwell, Biggio, and Altuve. This is the 1st offseason in 4-5 years that had a plan with easy to pivot to contingencies.
  7. 11.1 K followers on twitter.
  8. The Astros tried to sign Tucker to a long term deal, Tucker told them no every season, Tucker was always going to FA because that is what Boras told him to do. Connor is not right because you can't force a guy to sign when he and his agent are saying no we want FA as soon as possible.
  9. He was fine before the injury, of course the offense was running up and down the field and he was barely used.
  10. Was he talking about two different people, because the visit was yesterday, which was not Saturday. Turns out we got him.
  11. Or a three team, where the Cubs are getting prospects from the Yankees for Bellinger and sending them to us.
  12. Didn't OB say that Singelton was wanting millions and Texas wouldn't pursue? How that site still has paying customers is beyond me.
  13. For the last fucking time, no one hates Quinn Ewers, there is a debate if he is holding this team back from achieving all the team's goals for this season. Some say yes, and some say no.
  14. This is a whole bunch of nothing.
  15. Vaccaro and Diggs were very good as well.
  16. Even with Tucker healthy, you can't go into a season with Singleton, McCormick, and Meyers taking up 33% of your everyday lineup. That just isn't sustainable.
  17. Sarkisian's what the fuck in game reactions to what Ewers does on the field says plenty more than any interview.
  18. This team has too many holes to win in 2025 even with Bregman, Tucker, and Framber. Resgining Bregman and keeping Tucker and Framber also mean that the window shuts after 2025 for a long fucking period, i.e. the end of Altuve and Bregman's contract while also watching Alvarez, Brown, and Abreu leave when their team control is over. I am sure Luhnow had a plan, but we are now on GM #2 since him and the owner if fucking meddling too much to see the forest through the trees. Correa and Springer should have been traded for prospects just like they were doing with Tucker and Framber when it was clear their money demands where going to be more than what the Astros were willing to pay.
  19. If Niblack and Shannon leave, the problem with the TE is sovled. You would likely have the portal guy with Washington as the main two in 2-TE personel groupings. Develop the two freshmen, and recruit one in the 2026 class.
  20. We hammered the shit out of that guy, but the Warriors got like 8 seconds to inbound that ball.
  21. Well, this is an insteresting ending here. The one thing Jalen does really well this season is shooting FTs.
  22. Great play by Jalen there, cut across the lane with almost no time on the shot clock with no plan to actually take a shot, instead kicking it out, a bad pass on less, forcing Smith to take a horrible 3.
  23. Lulz, Jalen Green is so fucking bad when the game means something.
  24. That should be a Flagrant 2. Just fucking dirty basketball. Complete bullshit, and the arrogance of the official on top of it.
  25. Fred needs to sit his ass down. Just too many stupid live ball TOs. Go with Sengun, Brooks, Thompson, Eason, and Holiday. 9 TOs from Green and Van Vleet. Just sit their ass on the bench.
