  1. Yeah, seems like a place where SP+ and other models would have a hard time. That suggests the game plan itself contributed to aggy defensive dominance. They weren’t trying to stretch the field and be rewarded by SP+ for explosive plays (don’t remember if that metric matters). So should wrectum crew be seen as elite when the other team did exactly what it wanted? Probably not.
  2. Sark better work out. I absolutely love this direct middle finger to 9.95s and FCB.

Maybe it’s just the acting, but I don’t find these that great. Surly collective is significantly funnier than this crap. @immamac might be a good entry gift to the SEC to start an animated surly shorts illustrated by @THUJONE.
  4. Those experts expected the public to think that and still vastly underestimated the money on the over. They made a killing off the game.
  5. Texas 41 UTSA 9 Prop: 245 defense holds them to under 100 yards in first half
  6. SP+ heavily weights last years returning performance early in the season. We’d probably see a bigger impact from Bama on defense rank as the season goes on assuming 1) defense doesn’t shit the bed, 2) Bama offense is typical
  7. Same. I’m hoping a week with the 1s means there’s more on the table. And cards ankle is solid.
  8. I think Card played better than I feared immediately after the injury. That said, he forced us into severely limited playbook and change in game plan. I appreciate his grit and smart decision making, but it’s ok to call a spade a spade
  9. It was clear from snap 1 they were keying of Bijan. Ewers changed the math and it gave him some space. That space quickly disappeared once Ewers went down.

Ehh, I’ve seen this crew enough to know exactly what it would become. Flag fest but still utterly incompetent. This is one of the big 12s worst
  11. Holy shit was I wrong. You nailed it. Glad I backed down when I did.

What a fucking idiot you are
  13. bigcigar replied to taybo20's topic in Football
Lol to be clear, this crew is both flag happy and blind at the same time every game I’ve seen from them.
  14. Yes our defense is still shit. Like bottom 10%

I fucking hate this crew. Always flag happy but still fucks texas
  16. Wait…I thought ULM showed our defense has made vast improvements?!?!?
  17. Yards per play was 10 for Texas last season and 6.2 for Texas last week. Yards per pass was 5.3 for Rice last season and 7.1 for ULM last week. Reading anything into ULM performance is like using Rice from last year. It doesn’t tell us much.
  18. Our defense looked pretty outstanding against rice last year. ULM = Rice. Rice had completions that looked way too easy last year as well. They looked even easier against Kansas. It’s difficult to extract anything forward looking for the season due to quality of opponent.
  19. A backup from another big 12 school it looks like
  20. Texas 20 Alabama 48 ewers goes for 187 with 1 td and 3 ints
  21. Or rice last year? That’s the level ULM is at. I thought offensive line flashed at points but still showed its inexperience. They’re in for a rough week. That said, I’m bullish they can be better than last years shit show. Defensive line showed it’s more talented than ULM, but not very good overall. Outside of a few plays (Sorrell helps), they struggled to get a push against the pass. Better teams will have too much time to throw. Ewers made many freshman mistakes. He needed more reps. He’s a risk taker which will result in some great plays (threading the needle in double coverage early third quarter, improvising that flip pass to sanders on his rollout) and some not so great plays (first two attempts). He throws a beautiful ball. I wish he could have connected on the deep balls to build confidence. wtf card. Scared to death of a Ewers injury now. It was nice to see some guys really show up - Sanders, Overshown in particular. The latter seems to be closer to what we hoped he would be last year. Tackling seemed better, but I’m not sure how much of that was competition vs improvement. They tackled well vs. Rice too. It looks like the early line is Bama -17. I’d take Bama and the points without a second thought.
  22. Sark is a fucking idiot. You’re playing Bama next week dumb fuck. Get your freshman qb reps. Card is the same we thought.
  23. That didn’t stop you from judging us last year. Doesn’t matter if you play scrubs with a big lead or play scrubs all game, no judging.
