  1. The death earlier this month of Foremost GroupCEO Angela Chao, the sister-in-law of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, is currently under "criminal investigation," a Texas sheriff's office said Thursday. Chao, 50, was found dead shortly after midnight on Feb. 11 after being pulled out of a car that had gone into a pond on a private ranch in Johnson City, Texas, about 40 miles from Austin. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2024/02/29/angela-chao-death-being-investigated-as-criminal-matter.html
  2. I watched that rescue yesterday. That was crazy!
  3. The camera moves around too much but damn. We know firefighters are fearless and brave…💜
  4. He’s on a secret but not secret quest!
  5. You can really see the scope of the damage here: 💔❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🩹💔
  6. Cody Allen, 35, an Independence police officer, husband and father of two small children, was shot and killed Thursday. Independence Police Chief Adam Dustman praised Allen’s “heroic actions” after a civil process server called for help during an eviction. A Jackson County civil process server, identified as Drexel Mack, was also shot and killed. https://amp.kansascity.com/news/local/article286104501.html Killed trying to save a civil processor who was also killed. Suspect got evicted alright. To fucking jail where his dumb ass belongs.
  7. Also many of you remember this horrible shooting from last April: FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (AP) — A man who fatally shot a 20-year-old woman after the SUV she was riding in mistakenly drove into his rural driveway in upstate New York was sentenced Friday to more than 25 years to life in prison. Kevin Monahan, 66, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death last April of Kaylin Gillis. She was riding in a caravan of two cars and a motorcycle that was trying to leave after pulling into Monahan’s long, winding driveway while looking for a party at another person’s house in the town of Hebron. “I think it’s important that people know that it is not OK to shoot people and kill them who drive down your driveway,” Judge Adam Michelini said. Apart from the wider deterrent effect, Michelini said it’s important that Monahan remain behind bars rather than be free to harm more people.
  8. This was a huge story in Connecticut (and also a fairly large national story): A jury Friday found a Connecticut woman guilty of conspiring with her boyfriend to kill his estranged wife, a mother of five who disappeared in 2019. Michelle Troconis, 49, was also found guilty on five other counts of tampering with physical evidence and hindering prosecution connected to Fotis Dulos’ presumed killing of Jennifer Dulos, who was last seen dropping off their five children at school on the morning of March 24, 2019. The Duloses had been in the middle of a contentious two-year divorce battle and custody dispute, which placed strict restrictions on when and how Fotis Dulos could see the couple’s children. ——- The highlight of my day was watching that haggard bish drop her head on the table and weep as the charges were read. Guilty on all 6 counts! And then being led away in handcuffs.
  9. How many triangles????? I have the correct answer so all wrong answers will be strenuously mocked!
  10. Looks like we do have an arsonist…hmmm “A prominent Austin businessman and founder of Continental Automotive Group, or CAG, was arrested Thursday on charges of Felony Arson and a State Jail Felony offense of Burglary. Dorsey Bryan Hardeman, 75, is accused of starting a fire at a downtown Austin building on Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit.” https://www.kxan.com/investigations/prominent-local-businessman-arrested-in-austin-accused-of-arson/ Not sure I totally get the motive but whatever what a dildo.
  11. This just makes my heart ache…
  12. 2 officer shot in Independence, Missouri. Warrant situations from the cops I have met are one of the most dangerous times. That and DV situations. You never know when the abused person might come at you like a spider monkey. Way to make a bad situation worse for yourself. You have a warrant let’s make it ten times worse. People are fucking stupid. Hope the officers will be ok. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/wireStory/2-officers-shot-wounded-independence-missouri-police-107691961
  13. I bet there will be some amazing photos out of all this heartbreaking destruction.
  14. Thats wonderful! It helps to have a local presence for people who want to donate but don’t live in the Panhandle. That’s great!
  15. Yes! Pray! The thing is I’m stunned we haven’t had a worse one in all my years of life prior to the 2006 fire. I do wonder how the smokehouse creek one started. Was it human error? The thing is when you grow up in the Panhandle it’s dry and windy and you learn very early on to BE CAUTIOUS AND CAREFUL about anything that could potentially start a fire. This part of the state in particular lives and dies by the rain. And some of the years growing up it was incredibly dry. Praying for the snow and rain to help the firefighters do their best. They’ve got more planes coming in Friday and other aid so this little bit of Mother Nature is huge with the snow.
  16. Man I miss Braums! I love their little grocery store and ice cream and especially milk. People that don’t have a Braums are missing out! Here is a phone number to pass around to those trying to relocate livestock.
  17. Snow snow snow ❄️ ⛄️
  18. Never been so happy to see snow in my life! Let it snow! ❄️
  19. This is fabulous news because every little bit helps. Praying for some rain in the next week. It’s just so depressing. On my family’s ranch we don’t use any pesticides or anything so we have a lot of the red ants and horned toads (which are rapidly disappearing from our landscape.) so I am hopeful this snow helps at least contain the Fritch one. The Smokehouse Creek one is just another matter. Damn.
  20. It appears it’s not going to hit everywhere we need but this is positive:
  21. I follow true crime and wanted to create a thread that is for crimes in the news rather than have an individual thread for recent cases.
