  1. Look lots of teams would love to go from (imo) being wrongly ranked Numero Uno to 27th. Right? Holy shit. Where’s the Tylenol? 💊
  2. Watching the end of the Texas Tech game (a team who has spent some decent money by going after team captains at key positions) and seeing them beat year another opponent by more points than we seem to score in games—the announcer said “McGuire has started a culture here.” It seems like we have an unsafe and untrue slogan (all gas no brakes—which seems in real life like a shit driving strategy and also something we haven’t done except in a few games) as a “culture” and paying a lot of dudes. Yes we are Texas. But what is our identity? I submit we have none. and as @victory88 pointed out the months leading up to our season opener should have raised a ton of red flags. Spring practice? Ah fuck it. Spring game? Nah don’t need one. And while the teams poised to kick our ass were training like Rocky to take down Drago (teams that don’t have an endless pile of cash to blow that have to actually make good decisions on the players to fit their scheme) we seemingly sat there like King of the Hill when we didn’t even win it all last year. What is our identity other than a slogan and we have money to burn? And a bunch of dudes who aren’t gelling as a team bc our HC who ain’t never won a MNC as a HC thought this pro-style NFL fuck practice shit would fly. i see other teams doing so much more for way less. If we are going to have a bunch of dudes just sitting there collecting a paycheck and coaches who seemingly didn’t have the first clue what these dudes can or cannot do before the season started and still don’t know now…now what? What is the culture? Keep everyone’s draft hopes alive? The mess is Sark’s shit to fix. It’s his doing. He is in control of everything. Picking apart this thing or that thing or this player or that player doesn’t change the fact that everything is underneath Sark. I don’t even blame the players. It’s coaching pure and simple. That requires some deep self reflection, a willingness to dig deep and ditch what ain’t working and pivot. To the strengths of the well paid dudes on our team. I don’t envy whatever they are attempting to do now as we are going into a major rivalry game. It would have to be seismic to stop the slide into the abyss of a shitty season. Can we salvage it? Why did it take 5 games and a bye week to figure out we are failing this badly? slogans don’t mean shit. Unless ours means “someone cut our brake line and we cannot stop.” Sark is wearing too many hats and none of them seem to fit right now. I’d say get back to the fucking basics but we wasted the whole offseason. It should not be like this. Penn State BMDs are looking at the UCLA game and asking themselves “WTF?” Our press needs to be asking sark some hard questions. OT but I found this weird: this entire season almost every game there is some new type of record that has been broken from like the 1950’s (like multiple teams and games) what gives with all these 70 year old records being broken this season in particular?
  3. Sadly, when a HC is forced to make some hiring and firing decisions it’s typically a season after that (barring major improvement) the HC finds himself fired as well. there are a lot of teams I have my eye on (doing more with less type of thing.) the poor AD at UNT is probably trying to bubble wrap his HC and such. I will never understand why Sark believes he can do both HC and OC. Has he won the big one doing both? No. Very few coaches have and most find themselves forced to hire an OC or a DC and then end up looking for a new gig. Even inventive OCs have to stay on the trends. DCs are figuring out Sark’s stuff on offense and the rest of the stuff not on offense is putrid. In short, he’s failing at both. so my only hope is that some people with real influence sit his ass down and tell him it’s going one of two ways. He can coach up in the booth and retain both roles or there will be a bloodletting. If he’s really this stubborn that he’s going to ignore what all recovering alcoholics know—that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results—and continue on this path he will find himself no longer HC at UT. Eventually land somewhere as OC and win something that way and go back to doing the same shit (minus the drinking) that caused him to have underwhelming and underachieving teams at Washington, USC and currently at Texas. He is floundering and we can all fucking see it. Everything is not fine. He’s either going to adapt or he’s gonna find himself on yet another hot seat. Damn. as far as a list look at teams that have entered the top 25 who aren’t traditionally in the mix. For a coordinator. But it won’t matter a shit bc Sark has been quoted many times as saying calling plays is his superpower and he ain’t gonna give it up.
  4. I was wondering that myself. 🤔
  5. The BMDs were also responsible for Tom Herman. And Franklin was a much better hire at the time than Tom. We all know who they have picked in the last 30 years. Save Charlie but a clusterfuck of stuff happened there including picking that fraud of an AD. And they kinda have some fingerprints on that too. It’s widely written about and known state wide the influence they wield and while I appreciate their support and all they do to get players I think they don’t know what the fuck they are doing picking HCs until they prove otherwise. Particularly since the Mack and Sally days
  6. Then if we can run and aren’t going to call many running plays let’s replace the current Oline with the running back room. Maybe this will help. Whoever is playing QB next weekend is likely going to be severely harmed if OU v Auburn is the blueprint next Saturday. Damn. We cannot really quick fix Sark’s issues in one week to a level that we would all like to see so what can be done so we don’t have one or possibly two QBs killed next weekend? I’m not kidding. 6 sacks today from a shitty Florida squad. Jammer tweeted the oline was like traffic cones and then apologized for insulting traffic cones, outside of giving our running backs something to do and telling sark we are suspending him for depraved indifference to attempted murder on our QBs if he doesn’t get his fucking ass up in the booth to call plays what else can be done right now? Forfeit like aggy? I mean there aren’t any other options. The staff seems incompetent on this side of the ball and that all flows from Sark. And sark’s mediocre record as a HC. If no changes are made between now and next weekend I expect bad things happening to what remains of our offensive weapons and our QBS
  7. I don’t know anymore man. Tech has had its best start since 1953. Elko hearts aggy. He came back for them. So I guess in your scenario Elko is like Cameron in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. and aggy is like his first true football love.💕 "If things don't change for him, he's going to marry the first girl he lays. And she's going to treat him like shit. Because she will have given him what he has built up in his mind as the end all be all of human existence. She won't respect him, 'cause you can't respect somebody who kisses your ass.”
  8. Texas is just a cautionary tale here. Other schools can win shit with the same amount of money or even less money. We cannot win with our money. This is a good teaching moment for students. Sometimes throwing a lot of money won’t fix the problem. Especially when the people throwing out the money cannot figure out that they don’t need to be in the room when coaching decisions are made. But hey our BMDs gonna BMD. Not for nothing but if I was a big money donor I’d get sick of all the wealthy dudes from other schools who have won MNCs in the last 19 years calling my school soft and a joke behind my back. But maybe our big money donors like that? They must like it or like Jerruh Jones they only care they get to pick the HC. In short they must only care about winning if it’s winning with their handpicked science experiment.
  9. Sounds familiar 🤔
  10. He’s a really nice guy. And has been doing stuff on campus for years. I think BMDs just wanted to steal him from Texas Tech. That might have been their only reason to hire? I like him as a person. This is like tragic comedy. 🎭 aggy has found their HC. And Elko is good coach. His weird matches their weird and he knew how weird they are and wanted to come coach there and they barely laid out the welcome mat for the guy. Damn. But gladly cosplayed robbery victims to Jimbo Fishfood merely bc he won a natty (totally Winston) and he nearly killed all of aggy QBs during his robbery stint there with his vanilla playcalling trying to be both HC and OC.
  11. This. DeBoer is dealing with extreme pressure. Same for Dabo and Smart and down the line. Day was almost shit canned. Damn. Good point as always @Pancho
  12. Look at who we have hired (per BMDs) in the last 30 years. Their checklist isn’t the same as the one we would have for a HC and that’s the whole fucking problem. 1. how long have they been a HC? This does matter. This is not the place for a first timer nor a place for someone who in previous stints showed they couldn’t get it done. Where? cuz it matters. What did they accomplish record wise as a HC? This matters. Beating OU or Bama or Georgia is not a record. What did they win before coming here? A conference championship? This matters. A MNC? Or at least make the playoffs? All this shit fucking matters. It should matter. 2. do their teams show year over year improvement or do they have one or two crazy years because of a badass at QB and just a bunch of mediocre years? this seems to be a trend our big money dipshits cannot spot. Maybe use AI, fuckers (speaking to BMDs) 3. do the coaches fix their mistakes? Or do they merely just say the right things and continue making the same ones over and over? this should be the list. Obviously they have to accept the portal and NIL bc until a competent body cracks down on it—it is what it is. Sadly.
  13. I would hate for this to be the end of the road for Sark but his last two stops as HC don’t inspire much confidence. His staff doesn’t inspire much confidence either. I can’t even think where we go from here but if we do go HC hunting can we interview some people? See which coaches have routinely showed year over year improvement. Have fire in the veins? Have routinely shown they can win with far less than we have ever had on our roster? Cuz that’s the guy for me. Whoever that is. A guy who can win like we have Kansas State money. Not a guy who can’t win with Texas money. Miami just took the script from Ohio State and barring something bizarre will be in the MNC. We may not even make the Alamo bowl. And With all that money spent.on this roster. At least so far Texas Tech is backing up all the money they spent this year with competent play on the field. How embarrassing we have this much money and we can’t even buy a win over a 1-3 team that sucks. I don’t want this to be the end or beginning of the end for Sark but if you can’t win with Texas money it’s time to hang up your HC spurs. Sorry but it’s true.
  14. Someone needs to write a “fictional comedy” with our cast of coaching characters over the last 30 years. chardonnay drinking drive around in a convertible asshole who was fired and who’s subsequent team pulled a mutiny on the bounty on his ass. a middling game manager with cookies and orange slices who leaves teams a shell of itself like a vampire when he blows town leaving the cupboard bare but just loves for kids to have fun. a mid-tier clueless doesn’t even know his own zip code type who looked so lost in games one wonders if he accidentally pierced his brain with that finger cleaning out his ears. a coked up hand grenade who could beat OU banging crusty Jewelry store lady and whose wife almost opened an airplane door mid flight to Mexico and who had to be watched by campus police just in case. Who got fired from his last and likely final HC gig. And who had on his coaching staff a coach who clogged up a recruits toilet on the recruiting trail and Sark. Whose first year here started with a coach on his staff’s girlfriend named the Pole assassin who’s monkey bit a child in a maze on Halloween who wasn’t impressed with doctors of neighborhood. Like how did we expect this to turn out man. It doesn’t matter who the big money donors want next. This could be an epic comedy with the shit they have already done to us in 30 years. Thank god for Colt and for Vince. Because it could have been a whole lot worse.
  15. We all hope he can be flexible and bend to common sense. And not try to be like Jerruh Jones the GM. Cuz the difference is Jerry is the owner and will never fire himself for 30 years of being a shitty GM. The BMDs gonna get restless really soon with all this money being spent and we all know how well that goes when they get restless. sark can still control his destiny here if he can accept he cannot be both HC and OC. He has been quoted as saying he will never give up play calling cuz it’s his super power. Well something has to give. And if his superpower is being an OC there ain’t no shame in doing only that. But it doesn’t leave us anywhere either.
  16. I feel bad for him but pride comes before a big fall and I personally hate to see it. I quit drinking 4/24/22. I see what he’s been able to do and it is inspiring. I don’t want him to fail but the mother fucker won’t listen. 👂
  17. Watching a banged up SF play and beat the Rams with Mac fucking Jones (a major reason Sark was hired as we know and touted a QB whisperer—course this was as an OC sitting in the mother fucking booth—and coordinating for Nick fucking Saban before NIL) I was feeling some major envy. About Shanahan. Dude even WR’d here. He’s a Horn. He has proven he can make Brock Purdy, Jimmy Grabaho and Mac Jones look amazing. I wish fixing our issues could be as simple as just convincing Sark to get in the booth. But it’s not. Maybe 🤔 those of you who have played at the QB position can say: but is it helpful to have the person calling plays on the sidelines (1) not take into account what you do well (2) not see what the defense is doing because he is on the sidelines (3) absolutely will not take what an opponent’s defense gives you (4) has NOT addressed glaring problems with the O-line. I am genuinely asking. If a HC is doing 1-4 above how well could you play as a QB? Wouldn’t you get injured a bunch? Wouldn’t you start rushing thru your progressions or holding onto the ball? Wouldn’t your fundamentals start to suffer bc you can’t even trust the play calls? Or your oline? Doesn’t Sark being Sark make it almost fucking impossible to be his QB? When he’s not solely responsible for being an OC calling plays up in the booth? How well did his other QB’s at Washington and USC pan out? I wish we could solve this. But the writing on the wall that this would happen has been tattooed in many ways in the past 5 years: poor development of Ewers and Arch. Coming out flat after a bye many times. Oline issues. Play calls that a 5 year old could predict. QBs getting injured unnecessarily. Penalties for days. Shit red zone presence particularly the last 3 years and honestly if it were for the athletes and a bias to Texas we don’t make the playoffs. Does anyone remember rooting for Rock Chalk a few years back to decide our fate. Or leaving it up to committee. Cuz I fucking do. Damn. $15 million team. Ohio state spent $20 million and won. Miami seems to be on that trajectory. We have the money to buy anyone we want. What would sark look like if we didn’t? Penn State and Franklin with it have a ceiling. Sark’s floor is about to hit his ceiling as it has done every stop he’s had as a HC.
  18. We get Ewers. Who was highly sought after. Sark is supposed to be the QB whisperer. Sark did such a great job Ewers almost didn’t get drafted at all. manning was highly sought after. Kirby smart was creeping like a creeper on all his highschool games. Saban wanted him. He gets here sits for two years and regresses in every fundamental. people think putting in Caldwell is the answer need to understand what sark already has done the the prior two QB’s development. Caldwell will be lucky to DoorDash when sark works his magic on him. Or maybe Caldwell is the one and only QB who can do all sark needs. Yeah right. Tons of OCs could have done far more with Ewers and Arch than sark did. Truth.
  19. Solid post. We can quibble about who should starts or Arch or Ewers last year and blah blah blah and Caldwell. Sark is a major problem and if our press core weren’t such pussies they would ask sark why we look so flat as an entire team coming off a bye week. Why we disappear for quarters and halves during Sarks entire 5 year tenure here. Why he won’t get in the fucking booth when he wants to be both HC and OC. It hasn’t been done successfully in a long time. We have wtf games every couple of weeks. We look like we are a team under a complete rebuild, this is on him period. Period. And his head is up his ass right now if he can’t see what’s going on. its wishcasting to think otherwise. Does Caldwell do better? Maybe so. Can he play special teams and defense? Run? Cuz if he can’t do all these things it don’t matter. It’s sark. Pretending it’s not will be even more painful when the BMDs come crashing down on his ass when we get butt fucked by OU in Dallas next weekend.
  20. Sark’s current wife L’Oréal (whom Sark left his previous wife for—L’Oréal knew he was married when she basically went after Sark) recently gave birth to another man’s child while she is still married to Sark. Yet he wears the shit she picks out for him with pride. Makes a ton of sense. 🎃 Belichick is sideyeing the messy of all this.
  21. I’m like raging. Just to twist the knife I hope Texas Tech and North Texas both make the playoffs. To shove it in the BMDs faces loud and clear. An offensive coordinator needs to be in the booth to see what the defense is doing. Everyone with a brain knows this. All his old foes from his failed stints at Washington and USC repeatedly said he doesn’t take what a defense gives him bc his ass can’t see that from the fucking sidelines. He’s more worried about wearing what his cheating azzhoe of a wife tells him to than he is in recognizing his strength is in the booth not squatting on the field like he’s shitting out an out of wedlock pumpkin. 🎃 👻 🎃 🤘🏼 💩
  22. Maybe Sark’s first year? Or Georgia last year? Or after our MNC loss under Mack? what is concerning is that we have the money to buy any player we want so recruiting isn’t the issue. Teams with far less do far more, what the fuck?
  23. Because he ain’t calling running plays. Arch is the entirety save a couple of yards of the offense. Sark and his cheating ass bad fashionista wife can get fucked by a pumpkin.
  24. Gee I wonder who could call a bunch of running plays. And get the running game going? who would be in charge of that? It’s fucking baffling to me. Must be a real head scratcher for old sark there. If fucking Sark stands up at the post game presser and says we should have run the ball more….like he has done a couple of times in the past…he deserves the hot seat. We look as messy on the field as Sark’s marriage looks. His shit looks messy even by Belichick standards.
  25. He was to me a risk higher with a high ceiling. His floor is rapidly coming up to meet that ceiling. And it’s the same story as his other two HC gigs. Same type of team making same type of mistakes just wearing different uniforms.
