But now you can get to the beer equivalent of the Super Bowl with Brock Purdy.
Maybe it's just because it's Monday, maybe I'm just dumb as rocks, but I'm scratching my brain on this one.

This definitely would take some of the fun out of being a hot shot college athlete today.

This reminds me of going to the liquor store in college and picking up some 'imports' to try new things.
Had the exact same thought. A lot of those I haven’t drank since I was 19

I stopped at Zilker last time I was in Austin (en route to 2018 Alamo Bowl). Damn good beer.

Notre Dame, Stanford, and Cal should start their own "Independence Conference" to simply bask in the smell of their own farts. Hell, Utah can join them if they're gonna continue bitching.
Nah. I want Utah to hang around long enough to get their shit shoved up their asses in one of the numerous Plains backwaters they're so opposed to associating with.

I would have loved to hear the Mats play World Class Fad.

The only thing it's missing are his reaction tweets from when the schools actually left.

Bumping this thread. What are people's thoughts on Westerberg's solo material? I've been down that rabbit hole a ton lately and while I don't think he made any great solo albums, there are absolutely staggering songs littered through that solo career.
-
Yeah, I wouldn't call Prince (or any solo artist) a front man.
Mick's the goat on the front. I think Plant, Daltrey, DLR, Bon Scott are all in the conversation, but it's absolutely Mick. I love Rod and the Faces, but he was onto the solo thing so quickly that I don't view him really as a front man even though he was for a couple of years.

I live in an area where there is considerable ranching, so lots of ranch trucks pulling cattle or horses or loads of hay, which is fine. Just no reason to idle when you are parked three feet from somebody.
But yeah, it didn't look like it was being used on the ranch much.
Same, but I also know lots of guys who work at the co-op or a factory and drive big diesels just because they have small dicks.

Gram was a huge influence during that period.
Absolutely. I'm not quite exactly sure on the timing of him and Keef becoming buds, and if it precedes Beggar's (which is IMO their first real foray into country) or if he showed up prior to LIB. Either way, their friendship took Keef way down the rabbit hole and gave rise to the best country music ever made by people who weren't from North America.

Prior to his last three HC appearances in the big dance, he was a four year assistant at Purdue under Matt Painter (and played a big role in recruiting Eddy apparently), and seven years before that under McDermott at Creighton. He's also from Texas and has lots of recruiting connections in the state which is important to OSU (and a positive when compared to Sprinkle and DeVries who many of our fans wanted as well). There's no "home run" hires available for our program, so if he's the guy, I'm happy.
Yeah, having recruiting connections in both Texas and the Midwest makes him a really, really good fit in Stillwater.

Sitting at Sonic last night with my daughter after her track meet. Enjoying my small oreo blast while she ravenously devours her cheeseburger. Nice night, windows open, talking about her races, until douchebag in his pristine F-350 parks next to us and leaves his diesel idling while he orders and eats.
1) Now we are breathing diesel exhaust while we eat, so I have to roll up the windows which means I have to turn on the engine so we don't suffocate.
2) Idling diesel engine is so loud you can't have a conversation, even with the windows up.
Dudes who drive diesel pickups and never pull anything with them are definitely a trivial thing that makes me surly.

I think they've been distributed nationally for a long time. Our small town grocery store in north Iowa sold them in the 80's-90's when I was a kid.

People (usually women but sometimes usually young dumb dudes) who have no fucking clue at the gas station.
You Know how many times I have to ask them to turn off car while filling up?
I just had to this morning and got SOOOO much attitude and a scoff. But I stood their brow beating them until she did.
I mean, how clueless do you have to be to think having an ignition source so close to a flammable vapor generating action as well is ok?
if it was diesel I’d at least somewhat understand while still thinking it’s not a good idea at all. I mean risk and reward and spill and all. But gasoline. Are you kidding me?
Arggh.
With diesel farm equipment we almost never shut them off to fuel mid-day, due to the low risk of diesel igniting and the wear and tear saved on the engine.
But with gas, I won't fuck with an engine running while fueling.

I'd file that under "solid but not flashy".
It probably won't get the immediate splash that hiring someone like Alford would, but I think it would probably work out better in the long run. The guy has taken some pretty out of the way places into the Dance.

He enabled Keith to be as Keith as Keith could be.
Exactly. Woody fits and grooves with Keith better than anyone else, but you just wouldn't get "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" with anyone other than Mick Taylor.

I checked the font of all pricing, Amazon. Looks to me like the singles are less expensive per drink unit. There, anyway.
That could get my ass back into the Soda Stream game.

Ladies and Gentlemen.....THE ROLLING STONES!!

Posted
I know some people hate Far Away Eyes because they feel like it's mocking country music, but I just can't relate to that. The Stones clearly loved country music, and they loved it so much they made it better than a litany of American artists that actually call themselves country artists.
IMO their top 5 Country Songs are as follows:
Dead Flowers
Wild Horses
Let It Bleed
Far Away Eyes
Sweet Virginia
That can go shoulder to shoulder with a lot of the greats of country's top 5, and I say that as an avid fan of country music.
