I've mentioned this before, but way back when my wife and I were having troubles, I finally decided that there was no sense in fighting, so whenever a disagreement came up, I would say, "You're right, my fault."

That eventually drove her fucking bananas.

This is how I deal with pretty much any woman.    On my floor, there are about 200 people.    Easily 75% of those women.   They get super pissed off when there is some kind of disagreement on procedure or policy or what not and I just kind of sit there with reacting.   Low steady voice, calm.   Pisses them off something major.

I worked at Pappadeaux when I was in college and our clientele was the worst. The term "canadians" is used to point out difficult customers regardless of race. Most people do not tip, or would only leave maybe 10% if that. *Note: the lunch shifts during the week were fine because it was mostly corporate businessmen and they were always nice and polite. Plus, they tipped well.

I worked at the TGI Fridays by Greenspoint Mall in the summers during college.   Anadarko still had their HQ there so week day lunches were the shifts to get.   But week nights sucked and weekends were full of Canadians (we used that term too.)

As for the special ordering, yeah, that's a known tactic to set up a bitch for later.   And women, as a group are the absolute worst tippers.  They round EVERYTHING down.  If the entree cost $11.95, drink was 2.50, they thought their meal was $13.00 (11+2) instead of $14.45 + tax.  Fucking hated waiting on tables full of only women.

Military isn't that big in J'ville.  There's a sub base and an air station (I think).

Um, NS Mayport has 15+ ships home ported including an amphibious attack ship (The Iwo Jima, think small carrier), 4 cruisers and 4 destroyers.   The harbor is being prepped for nuclear aircraft carriers with the goal to have one there by 2019.

  4. My bad..   I read that as making 80-120 besides the TRS.

And not many teachers in Texas are bringing in 50k from TRS.    If one of them retires after 30 years with with a last 5 average of 60k, they'll get about 40k a year.   And they arent eligible for SS.    It's  decent annual amount to start but it pretty much guarantees having to work after the retire from teaching.

Meanwhile teachers in MA, IL and NY take home close to twice what our teachers make.  And retire on much more.

  5. Yeah, because the TRS payment is so much...

And how many private school jobs pay that much?  Seriously.   Plus, going private sector with 20 years teaching experience isn't likely to lead to a high paying job.

  6. The people who argue that Texas teachers are overpaid are morons.   People with 20 years experience making about 50k a year.  And we expect more and more out of them every year.

I would think holding school design contests for new school construction would be beneficial. Maybe, a more compact design with parking across the street from the building with a wide walkway bridge over the road. Also, limited entry points with a short wall all the way around that is difficult to climb (no climb paint) and is aesthetically pleasing.

    So... a prison?

I've never understood American's fascination with British royalty.

I can explain it very simply....   Every girl wants to be a princess.  Royal weddings exude everything they want/wanted theirs to be.

NYC always provides. Here's another one, Matt Harvey thinks he's dating Adrianna Lima until the Met Gala in 2017 when she talks weekend flight Julian Edleman with her to the event. This causes Harvey to flip out, he misses a throwing session, shows up late for a start and his Met death spiral has officially started. Is ESPN willing to report this type of stuff? If so, they can stay relevant, but if not, why be in NYC at all?

By becoming Sports TMZ, which demographic is that supposed to appeal to?  Is there a strong segment of the millenials that will gobble that kind of shit up?  Because the over 35 crowd sure as fuck doesn't care who Matt Harvey is dating.

bartender said all new taps had to be approved by their corporate office,

I really don't get this line of thinking and it's not just at the Gingerman.   Why does some corporate idiot think they know better than the local guys?

There's a sports bar by my house with maybe 18 taps.   12 are rotating micros and the owner has a bar manager that he gives complete control to.  Owner runs the kitchen.   Bar guy runs the bar and orders whatever he wants.   Probably turns his taps at least once every 7-10 days.   He'll have some "regular" stuff from 8th Wonder, Southern Star or Back Pew but at least 8-9 of the taps very from week to week.

And guess what?  There are ALWAYS people there trying the new beers.

But I'd guess that downtown Austin rent has as much to do with this as anything.   They could have been packed every afternoon/evening and the rent would still be killing them.

They played it on the news this morning and I heard one (yanni I think) and my wife turned on the blender while they were repeating it and i heard the other while the blender was running.

When she turns on the blender do you piss yourself and forget who you are for a half hour or so?
