  1. Hadn’t heard of the Kucher story until today. He had a contract with the guy to pay - at the most -$4K. Gave him $5K (so a 25% “tip” I guess). Not really sure what to think... yeah he made 1.2 million, but they had an agreement on payment. He’s a small-time caddy so it’s not a stretch to assume Kucher didn’t rely on him for much more than carrying his bag... but again, he did make over a million ...

Kinda feel like the caddy took advantage of the situation, but it certainly worked (at least in the short term). I guess I just have a problem with people going back on their agreements after they can Monday-morning-quarterback them

K-State played almost the entire first half in man, but switched to zone with a minute to go for our final two possessions. At that point, we were 2-for-5 from BTA. We missed three 3s on those final two possessions, and then shot 2 for 11 from deep in the second half.

Roach, Coleman, and Ramey are great against man cuz they can get by their guy and get to the rim whenever, but if they aren't hitting from outside, we're fucked when we play a zone.

Turnovers and poor defense also contributed to Horns loss tonight.

I don’t think any of us are disagreeing

They switched to zone ... and we couldn't hit wide-open 3s.

Soooo, basically the blueprint to beating us every game?

Not a bad game overall, and KState certainly isn’t a scrub team, but it sure sucks to lose when you played like* the better team 75% of the game

    Edit to add: “played like”

  4. I do think he’s making the right decision though. In the short term, he’ll make more money playing FB. If that miraculously works out, he’ll make more in the long term. When it doesn’t work out - assuming he doesn’t sustain some massive injury (which is unlikely for QBs in today’s NFL) - he can go play baseball for at least a few more years. Kind of a win-win

    Will be fun to watch.

What I find interesting on this thread is that if he'd transferred to UT instead of OU (or come here originally) we'd be talking about how great he is and what a good pro QB he will be.  Much like Mayfield last year -- if he'd been OUR douchebag QB we'd all have loved him....

You must be new to Texas sports

they have been married for 25 years.  Amazon's first inclination was founded 24 years ago.

Basic math tells you they got married before the company was formed, and before they turned his fathers used book store into the worlds largest online company.

She was integral in the  expansion, served as the CFO for a couple of years. in every single sense of the word, she was an equal partner in the venture.

This is one of the few times where the wife of a billionaire earned her status, and honestly deserves a huge chunk of the combined marital funds.

although I do agree that getting $60B in the divorce decree would be a hell of a precedent.

If you look at it like “Bezos wasn’t the richest man in the world, but rather Bezos and wife are the richest couple in the world,” the payout is going to make more sense. I don’t know enough about the history to say they were 100% equal partners, but this does appear to be a really good example of why the law about marital funds exists. If they had only been business partners, maintaining separate funds the entire time, how much would she have? From the way I’ve seen it discussed, it sounds like it’d be quite a lot, maybe not as much as him, but still a shit ton of money.

  7. If the Sunset Act is to remain anything other than a farce, TABC should absolutely get the axe. Complete drain on resources to do nothing other than attempt to justify its own existence, and they’ve still managed to utterly fail at that.

  8. So glad I opened this thread to bitch about tapa and saw the suggestion to use the mobile site in chrome. Not quite as functional as tapa used to be, but with the ads and the freezing...the mobile site is currently a shit load better.

Only problem is I can’t figure out how to create a shortcut to my home screen on iPhone. From some cursory research, it looks like apple doesn’t allow shortcuts from other browsers, but I’m hoping there’s an app workaround? Anybody got a suggestion?

  9. OPs proposed solution could be better analogized by looking at air travel. The security isn’t at the physical border, but rather where the vast majority of air travel starts/ends. Obviously not as simple or consolidated as airports, but it seems like a better investment than a wall (at least in theory).

  10. After fifteen minutes of reading, I haven’t learned anything about the goings-on in Venezuela, but I can confidently say Brisket and Bad teammate would be better off if they stopped responding to each other. Y’all sound like a drunk high school couple having a fight, responding without even hearing what the other person just said
