Go root for Pedo and lecture people about clowns LOL
Pedo state deserved to have their football program disbanded forever.
Doesn’t change the fact that Michigan sucks.

So Michigan:
1. Cheated
2. Got caught
3. Wants to play the role of victim
Fuck these clowns

Any team with a pulse can sleepwalk their way into 9 wins in the Big10. Their brand of football is total garbage.

At what point does ownership get involved in this issue? Fans aren’t showing up on Sunday to watch Jonnu Smith jet sweeps and to buy a Tyler Allgeier jersey. I know Blank is a “hands off” type of owner but this issue has pretty much gone viral and turned the Falcons into a laughingstock.

Because I hate Big 12 refs and have too much time on my hands I decided to look at the data for this year’s conference games and try to figure out whether there is any validity to the idea that games are called different against us. I looked only at the teams that we have played so far (Kansas, OU, KSU, BYU, Baylor, Houston). Here is what I found:
Games not against Texas
——
Average penalties: 5.4
Average penalty yards: 48.9
Average opponent penalties: 5.4
Average opponent penalty yards: 45.9
Against Texas
——
Average penalties: 3.7
Average penalty yards: 26.0
Average opponent penalties: 6.2
Average opponent penalty yards: 48.5
Conclusions
——
Against Texas, an opponent can expect to be called for ~2 fewer penalties and ~26 fewer penalty yards than their average in Big 12 play. They can expect their opponent (Texas) to be called for ~1 additional penalty and ~3 additional penalty yards than average.
Officiating crews are, statistically speaking, having a much greater effect by failing to call penalties against our opponents than by calling extra penalties against us. This is consistent with the examination of holding / PI calls posted earlier in the thread.

I don’t think losing to WVU is a possibility this year.WVU is not an easy out this year. They’re 6-3 and should be 7-2 if it wasn’t for the miracle Hail Mary that Cougar High completed against them.
The only team with an “easy” remaining schedule is Okie State (UCF - UH - BYU). As long as we take care of business, I think they’re the odds on favorite to be our opponent in the championship game.

CMU played Mich State on Sept 1st. He was on the CMU sideline to scout Mich State.

I stand correct. But…is Michigan State actually better than CMU?

Did they really need to cheat to beat CMU? Aren’t they supposedly a powerhouse? By all means, Michigan, go ahead and give Harbaugh that contract extension. It will make the court battle after his show-cause penalty a lot more interesting.

The NCAA will not act before season end because of their processes, and I don't think the conference will act this season either. The question is whether UM will sack up and sack Jim. They have to know that it is appropriate, but will they sacrifice this season? (Of course, they should imo.)
They won’t. A national championship is worth potentially hundreds of millions of dollars. They’ll beg for forgiveness later.

I understand everyone is a little delusional about their own team but seeing Michigan fans trying to rationalize this as no big deal is pretty funny.

He was trying to win a FB game, and a 1st down there was critical. I admire him for his guts. Sometimes things just don't go the way you want.
IIRC he actually took the hit on that run with the left side of his body. I think he was injured when he was sacked on 1st down right before the 1st half ended.
Edit: which would explain why he checked down to Brooks on seemingly every pass play until he was pulled.

Ugly win. However, the one of the only gods takes from this game is that we had 0 turnovers. Houston had 2.
While this is technically true, the fake FG and the incomplete deep shot to Mitchell on 4th down are effectively turnovers. We also had two of these against OU - running into the kicker conversion and goal line stop - which effectively made the turnover battle 0-5 in OU’s favor. Sark’s 4th down decision making is proving to be questionable at best.

That and if Sark’s dumb ass takes the FG while up 14, it doesn’t matter
This. The reason we nearly lost this game is because Sark asked Sideshow Bob to convert a 4th and 7 on the edge instead of kicking a 44 yard field goal. Combine that with PK’s patented deep quarters coverage that allowed them to move the ball 10 yards at a time for free and all of a sudden all of the momentum was on the other side.
Quinn injury didn’t help but this game should have never been close, regardless.

Iowa is favored by 3.5 over Minnesota this weekend with an O/U of 31.5. The implied score of 17-14 sounds a little ambitious.

USC just does not look like a good football team.

I think OU had the psychological advantage due to having an entire year of focus on getting revenge for 49-0. This is not making an excuse for Sark / Texas. Great coaches and teams would maintain the motivation to go out and beat them by 49 again. But we didn’t have that. It was obvious from the opening snap that they had more fire and were playing for revenge.
If we can take care of business and win out the rest of our B12 games - and there’s absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t - then we should have plenty of motivation in Arlington.

It was absolutely the wrong call on 3rd down. So we made it a 47 yard FG instead of a 52 harder? That doesn’t really make a difference these days. Field goals are not missed short from 50.
Then it was the wrong call to not go for it on 4th. Ask yourself this - would you have taken a single snap where we have to gain 4 yards to win the game before kickoff? I certainly would have. Going ahead by a field goal is not some great victory.
And that brings me to the last thing. It is ESPECIALLY the wrong decision to follow up this sequence by playing prevent defense. What was the goal here? To give up 10-15 yards a snap and hope they miss a field goal or take a sack at the end of the game?
When you look at the entire sequence, it almost seems like we were playing for overtime.

This was a painful loss but we deserved it, to be honest. We simply didn’t play like we wanted to win almost the entire game.
That being said, OU has been on the losing end of this game twice and ended up getting the last laugh (2008 and 2017). Let’s return the favor. We should be heavily favored in all 6 of our remaining games. Roll into Jerry World at 11-1 and win the conference.

Oh man. I've been hoping a "Brian Ferentz watch" thread would get going here. This has the makings of an all-time classic CFB storyline. My favorite part so far is when Iowa, leading 34-10 with :30 left in the 4th quarter, went full Bob Stoops mode and ran up the score with a rushing TD against Western Michigan. After only scoring 24 & 20 points in weeks 1 and 2, Ferentz was already in desperation mode.
12 point favorites against MSU this weekend. Can't wait!
Assuming that they can score 2 TD against anyone is not without risk.

Who the hell do they hire to replace him? I would say that you can’t fire Jimbo without a replacement already lined up, but this is aggy.
