When I was registering in person in the 80's, my dad had actually gone back to school as well.
He already had a successful career with a string of Big and Tall shops.
Anyway, the day of registration, I'm waiting in line with my buddy Derek. Dad shows up and couldn't believe the lines, so he took matters into his own hands.
He had his limo driver pose out front of the building with a sign that said Bruce Springsteen.
Place cleared out quick....got into that Astronomy class!
Those were the days. Shit man, I really miss Dean Martin.

Likewise. I married into an Oregon State family and, even before that, I had a soft spot for the Beavers. They're just a really easy team to root for. My wife, who's family is from Corvallis, is the first member of her family to go somewhere besides OSU (she went to UT, naturally). And now, her entire family has UT as at least their number 2 college team and some of them even have us as their number number 1. Plus, some of her younger relatives (the ones with the requisite grades and test scores, anyway) are looking VERY hard at UT now after hearing my wife and I rave about it. So although the new landscape is probably going to be very good for UT, I'm definitely going to miss watching scrappy, disciplined, well-coached Beaver teams upset Oregon, UW, and USC and ruin their seasons every few years.
On the plus side, all of us at least got to have a good hearty laugh about DeBoer bolting Washington for Bama.
It also wouldn't exactly break my heart if her twin professional dancer younger cousins decided to pull the trigger on UT one of these days. One is in community college and the other is on full ride at Oregon and both of their grades and test scores should give them a very solid shot at getting into Texas if they decide to go the transfer route - and they are definitely considering it. And believe me, both of those young ladies are welcome to stay in our guest rooms here in Austin as long as they want
(No pics, you sickos. I'm pretty sure my FIL is on here and I do NOT want to deal with the blowback from that shit)
Edit: and, just to keep it on topic, I would cut off my left pinky finger to get Silas Bolden to Texas. Maybe even my right. I watched him all year and he's almost like Worthy and Keilan in one package. Not as good as Worthy but I do think he can be better than Keilan and still has untapped potential. I have no doubt Sark would come up with some incredible uses for him and I really hope we get to see it. Trying to cover him and Golden is the kind of thing that keeps DCs awake at night
I think I literally now know quite a bit more about your family than much of my own, and yes, I know the definition of literally.
And, “I had a soft spot for the Beavers” is a pretty good site slogan.

So does Texas take Bond and someone else (Bolden, Daniels) and Ryan Williams when he commits/signs?
Golden + Bond could be the extent of the portal WRs, Williams is a take regardless. I think TE is still to be done.

Cher Sarkisian
Pos rep to bad_teammate for the gloriously awful photoshop, and Butch Had Not wins the interwebs today for the Cher + Sarkisian reference. Bravo.

You rang?
Here’s how fucked up it was back in the day, they would post a list of everyone’s SSN on a bulletin board and that’s how you found out your grade.

We went through it replacing Mack....and Royal.....and heck when we hired Royal our primary targets all said no thanks and recommended Royal.
I thought it was just Royal wanted Mike Campbell but the administration said, “Naa, we’re hiring your slick former assistant who’s been chilling in Wyoming…” Who did we pursue and miss out on?

Maybe so, but he doesn’t even claim FSU as his alma mater

This thread is now essentially the Ryan Williams Watch, and he doesn’t visit for a couple weeks. Until then, meet UT version of The Bobs from Office Space, Mike & Mike, the TEX Twins. And it started in 1988.

I’m old, and did not have TEX in the early 80’s, so it apparently started sometime after that. (Just fueling Texifornia’s predicted class add digression.)
Wow. This isn’t complicated at all.

Nothing else happening that could domino some things either. Yeah, fuck it, argue over unprovable shit or argue over population counts across the country. Riveting shit.

Steele retiring about 25 years too late for Baylor fans.

Bolden reminds me a lot of the TCU kid Turpin with the Cowboys. Could be a highly specialized guy, doing some Keilan things (Robinson’s value wasn’t at traditional RB) plus punt return, but not sure we would have room for another receiver if we land Liberty Biberty or another full-sized player 😛. Probably depends on DeCamilas/Banks persuasive skills.

2024 WR Isaiah Bond (Transfer)
in 🤫$9.95🤫

I’m not trying to be obtuse, but do you mean Adonai Mitchell? He declared for the draft. I still want Bolden for slot/special teams. Johntay and Moore have gained trust over the last year, and should be in the rotation, as limited as it may be under Sark’s notorious tight control. Niblett remains an unknown.
Edited to add Wingo… he may have an expectation to play early, but I suspect he was informed we would need to revamp the entire receiver room, so transfers would be a certainty. If he’s good enough to break into the mix, then he will. I hope he has the maturity to understand the situation. He seemed to indicate his need to work for his opportunity in an interview he did with CJ Vogel at the All American Game in SA.
