  1. Pitching Montero in this situation is a bold strategy, Cotton.
  2. Too late to edit, so let me just say here that I don't know Brenda and thus am not sure if her triangle even has a vortex.
  3. Not to worry. This tiny echo is the lost squadron of Flight 19 finally reemerging from the Brenda Triangle vortex. Game on.

Many of us used to be bookworms. So are we now tapeworms?
  5. Kentucky vs. Ole Miss was mildly interesting, if only in the sense the Wildcats were pedestrian throughout. They swept the hosts, but that didn't take much execution or intensity. Texas looks way stronger.
  6. UGA was never really in the match and appeared to know it, though the ratchet-jawed "analyst" tried to convince everyone otherwise.
  7. The announcer suggesting Texas and all other SEC teams are "pretty beatable" suggests "by teams much better than UGA."
  8. Funny you should mention the Trojans. I fully expect Riley to be hit with an aggy trademark infringement lawsuit any day now.
  9. All things he learned at UGA
  10. Fair points. I have no real idea of Yordan's current market value; I only know he's elite when healthy. So let's keep him if there's reason to believe he'll get at least 400 ABs a season from here on out. That sounds like a pretty low bar for an MLB slugger to jump. Unfortunately, recent history offers no strong support of him getting all those ABs. And that brings me to one of the things I feel is most critical to solve this off-season: obstacles to team health. No player on earth can help when out of the lineup. To have a real chance at a title next season (or any other), this organization must address the question of whether it's doing everything possible to keep guys healthy. I suspect doing so would necessitate some personnel changes in that department, but maybe they're all smart people who've been forced to follow bad orders. Perhaps one of you knows for sure.
  11. I'm to the point with Alvarez that anything north of 30 HRs is going to be a big surprise. Simply a matter of health ...or lack thereof. Hope Diaz can get off to a solid start to help make up for any shortfall there.
  12. This problem has been clear to Surly for a good while, but even after the loss of Tucker, Bregman and Alvarez I'm not sure it registered fully with the front office. Maybe they just assumed someone would magically fill the obvious voids or that Paredes would come back much sooner, but neither happened. Cole isn't the full answer going forward, though he looks to be part of it. Jury obviously is still out on Matthews and Melton, among others coming up from the farm.
  13. I don't watch a ton of NFL, but any team that struggles to run two straight plays without a penalty is an embarrassment to the game.
  14. The lack of Yordan on there might have had me wondering if he retired on opening day.
  15. Not coaching at third, I know that much.
  16. When it doesn't matter if they win, these guys look pretty good.
  17. Perhaps players aren't the only ones drawing from the NIL well.
  18. This is not simile. It is a literal description of the game.
  19. Do your solid additions include Judge, Ohtani and Skenes?
  20. With 18 games left, I predicted on another board that we'd finish 8-10 to win 86 for the season. After the Rangers series that seemed really pessimistic, but now we might not even get there. What a lifeless bunch of dregs.
  21. Circling the drain
  22. About as tough a match as you'll see for a sweep. Love how multiple ladies are making big plays when they must. And that dig by Emma...just wow.
