  1. How might one tell?
  2. Even the sunshine pumpers are starting to spew raw sewage. And I'm thinking rightly so. Because if the team has capitulated, can a mass fan exodus be far off? Hurry, football.
  3. So this is why Urias isn't starting today. Makes perfect sense.
  4. It's actually fascinating to see how poorly they can execute and yet somehow remain in contention. Although that says much more about the division than about the Astros. I guess a fan could be encouraged that the team at least tends to be competitive against elite squads. (No, I didn't mean "other" elite squads.) But let's face it: This is a staggering run of garbage and plenty of justification to can the skipper.
  5. This game would be entertaining if I didn't care who wins.
  6. The fact we get so few guys on base makes the DP total that much more impressive. Situational hitting, guys.
  7. Seems we're either really good or really bad. I'd naturally feel better if we'd played bad ball early and now were on an huge upswing. I think I really just need to temper my expectations about what these pitchers are (including guys rejoining the rotation) vs. what they were at their peak. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Yordan is back at anything close to his old self this year.
  8. Current AL West race
  9. First I've seen us play. Hopefully an anomaly, because during the minutes I saw (admittedly our worst of the day), we looked marshmallow soft. Our guards' inability to get by anyone was disappointing, as was everyone's inability to shoot. Cunningham did make a few layups. Then Howell bullied us out of the deep end of the pool all by herself.
  10. Looks like women against girls at the moment.
  11. I've been watching for 20 minutes of actual time and have seen us score a whopping 4 points. Bad basketball.
  12. I've only seen the last few minutes, but man...we've looked bad. I assume this isn't how we've been playing.
  13. Just 13 days until Texas football. That's easily the best news I have for y'all.
  14. At this point (actually before this point) I'd probably just fire the manager. Might not light a spark, but where's the downside risk? Of course, many will scream Espada doesn't deserve to be canned. I guess I get it. Then again, as ol' Bill Munny said....
  15. At least we get to lead off B10 with our best baserunner on second.
  16. You know, I've watched MLB since Joe Morgan was an Astro...but this year, more than any other in a long time, I'm having trouble telling which of our guys can actually play. Seems to be getting harder by the month.
  17. Darn. I was thinking we were about to have a JAG toss a perfecto to complement Kurtz's all-time offensive outburst from a few weeks ago. Two guys on cellar dwellers punking us in our own park would be the chef's kiss in a season to forget...which this is quickly trying to become.
  18. He's going to get a perfecto. I'm sure of it. Simply because I don't want it to happen.
  19. About the time I think our stud starters are getting locked in and our bats are turning the corner, we get this kind of debacle. Put Metzger in.
  20. Joe Sambito has something left.
  21. Brown, somewhat like Framber at times, often seems to lose focus quickly once there's a baserunner. I don't know if it's a windup vs. stretch thing or what.
  22. Turns out Javier was the least of our pitching worries tonight.
