  1. Two garbage foulouts to 1B by the GOAT who's quickly becoming the goat. But Javier is throwing BP anyway, so whatever. It's a train wreck in slow motion.
  2. This clown show is no longer entertaining. Fire the ringmaster.
  3. True. But for now, I'd let him "break out" at 6 or deeper in the lineup. Not that other options at 4 are great, but I'd much rather have Diaz there while he's swinging it well.
  4. Hmmmm. Altuve at 4 seems bad. Put Diaz there. We're hamstrung enough with Trammell and Dubon in the lineup.
  5. I started to add a "but" diatribe noting that Altuve has fallen off the face of the earth, but I decided to see if he might do anything at all productive over the next few weeks. I doubt he will, but who knows? I suspect he's somewhat like Verlander: old and stubborn and at this point only occasionally useful. Hate it but won't deny it if he doesn't come around before October.
  6. Correa's swing has looked good. Thumbs up to Citron and the player for that.
  7. That was a true gut check. Errors everywhere, but tough as nails late.
  8. This dude does not abide.
  9. Good stuff. Stanford and the last few points have to build some belief, no matter how it ends.
  10. Hammer time, to go with some major digging.
  11. Not saying they're bigger than us, just that they were playing that way. Or conversely, that we seemed to be playing smaller.
  12. Looking rather small and shy out there. That's not how you beat a big, skilled opponent.
  13. Hmmm. Guess I'm blind. But on to the next.
  14. Not quite the way you draw it up, but a W. Too bad JA didn't get it.
  15. Always a pitch away. Always a hit away. Both signs of a team going nowhere.
  16. Louisville looks solid. Digging a deep, early hole didn't help.
  17. With Garcia going out, it's obvious we need to find that voodoo doll and bury it. Along with someone's glove. Perhaps while the player is wearing it. So what's different now from a few years back? I question that it's fully explained away by the departure of Bregman, Tucker, JV or Yuli or a lack of team health. We're not supremely talented across the board, but as much as anything else, there seems to be a serious lack of clubhouse leadership. Maybe that left with the aforementioned players or has been disguised by terrible injury "luck," but I have a hunch it's mainly an Espada issue. And I say that as never having been a fan of Dusty, though as this train's kept heading off the bridge he's started to grow on me.
  18. Brice time. We're not winning jack this year, so throw some fresh meat onto the grill. And just get the inevitable Espada canning over with.
  19. Who's the actual leader of this bunch of misfit toys? Do we have one? If it's Altuve, no wonder we're a wreck.
  20. Surprised we didn't get walked off. Nice 30-pitch meltdown, but at least we're still alive.
  21. If he could hit a lick, he'd have 100-plus RBIs and we'd have at least another 8 Ws. But I'm not bitter.
  22. Meanwhile, fun to see the Yankees melt down hosting the Tigers. Bullpen getting shelled again, down 10-2.l late. Oh, and another glorious spiked OF throw by Bellinger to dump more gas on the fire.
  23. I'm getting pretty inflamed thinking about what terrible "luck" it is to have this stuff keep happening one after another.
