  1. Not going anywhere anytime soon, friend. Sorry that triggers you so much 🤘
  2. Back in the day it was: win the big 12 reg season - top 8 National seed. win both reg season and tournament - top 4 or 5 seed Granted, in the 2000s the conference also had Nebraska and a&m and a good baylor team to bolster the conference’s rpi along with Missouri from time to time As far as this year goes, Texas could go 0-2 in the tournament, and they’re still well within hosting status, despite my prognostication after inning 1 of Friday ¯\_( ツ)_/¯ Should’ve believed more
  3. Have gone both nights so far. Unlike anything I’ve seen there in years!
  4. Man, in your head too, huh? Too easy.
  5. No. X-wing has actually posted more about Texas baseball than you have. Play again.
  6. Fans that actually go to the game? Fans that actually attend to cheer their Alma mater on? Cool story, bros. I tell it like it is. We look shook at home against the mighty tcu horned frogs whose rpi is around 60 and the coach is probably leaving for a new job keep shooting the messenger though. I wasn’t the one who couldn’t throw strikes in the first inning
  7. Almost forgot this is Texas men’s sports post 2010. Should’ve known we would’ve crapped our pants with something on the line. Hopeful our 2-seed regional bid will be a favorable one
  8. Correct, thanks to the guts from Nolan Kingham and a hilarious choke on behalf of the gooners. They scored 4 runs in the top of the ninth, then surrendered 4 runs in the bottom of the gram and lost it in the 10th. They could miss out on the field of 64 if they keep screwing around
  9. Just got back from the disch. Idk what it was, but something just felt like old school atmosphere at the disch before the renovations when it was real die hards there screaming “legacy” when Street would take the mound in 02. Awesome experience. Nolan got a proper curtain call right after the eyes.
  10. What's so annoying is those Western Carolina and Nicholls State type games come in the dead of November as basically a second bye week during conference season. That's bullshit. Call me a puritan, but unless it's something like Florida-FSU or Georgia-GaTech or S Car-Clemson or whatever, all your non con games need to be before conference, just like every other major men's sport (sans baseball season tuesdays)
  11. I think you are correct on all of that. The Penn St. beatings came in 2011 and another a year or two before that, with Bama just waxing PSU in Happy Valley in 2011. That was kind of the beginning of when the Saban era went from already successful to just unstoppable well oiled machine. I think you'd have to go back to 02 and 03 for the OU games. OU basically what Alabama and Ohio State are now, constantly winning 11 games per season, while Alabama was in large part pretty mediocre during the 2000s before Saban. Yet OU just got past them each time iirc
  12. Lol sorry aggy. No room for you. We want our non con opponents to be programs that earned relevancy and respect, not teams that tried to buy it. But enjoy barn burners against Nichols St and Lafayette!
  13. Typical tcu to get hot when it matters when people think they’re falling off. Still, this year’s hole they dug was far deeper than any years past. Coupled with the fact that they’ve had some terrible luck with injuries. Starting to think with how congested teams ranked 9-25 is becoming, it could legitimately take a sweep to stay in serious hosting contention. Thats not all bad though. I’d take the Stetson or Minnesota regional projections rather than being host matched up with the 1-3 overall national seeds in supers along with probably one of the best 2 seeds of all the regionals
  14. aggy should be worried. If they lose 2 of 3 to a hot S Car team at home, that's a 13-17 finish in the SEC, and like Kendall said, that's pretty tough. Finishing 12-18 after two consecutive sweeps, and you can essentially write them off as finished barring a miracle in their conference tournament. I'm intrigued to check out texags again today to witness more of their rankings bitching, but my brain can only take so much punishment
  15. Correct. Just like basketball, and football in 2014, the teams would be considered "Co-champions" if they have the same record at the end of the season, but Texas would be the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 tournament due to head-to-head. It's created kind of a conundrum, bc if Ok St limps to their regular season conference crown, Texas and TTU could be hosts for regionals while Ok St wouldn't be. Not saying that's never happened before, but I'm sure it's rare. Even though Baylor helped Texas out a lot, Ok St is still firmly in the driver's seat. Even if Texas is perfect, OSU only has to win 1 game to be considered co-champs, and 2 to be outright
  16. The disch looks like total dogshit. I thought it looked best in its Astro turf days, but I understand why that’s a terrible surface as well. Granted Astro turf was a huge play advantage That said, as a catcher and infielder, artificial doesn’t give you bad hops
  17. Dude, what’re you talking about? Didn’t you see Starkel shred that vaunted wake forest defense in the belk bowl last year?
  18. Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if they placed Texas at No. 15 to Stanford’s likely No. 2. I feel like those teams used to meet up a lot in the postseason. Outside aggy and rice, they’re basically Texas’s biggest baseball “rival.” Also, Unc totally choked in their own regional to a 4-seed last year, and kind of like Florida State, they’ve made a name for themselves doing that often. Basically the entire reason aggy pranced to Omaha last year was because unc croaked. Wouldn’t be surprised if that happened again. Would sure love to see David Pierce reach his first super regional this year by getting to stay in austin
  19. Gonna be hard for Tech to fall out of hosting discussion altogether with their collective resume. Ok State also in tremendous position with their stranglehold on the conference regular season title thus far Looks like Texas will need to win 3 of 4 next week, and probably even some work to do in the conf tournament just to secure it. Texas’s crap losses have really crippled their rpi. It’ll be hard to imagine a scenario where the Big 12 gets 3 hosts, but I guess that’s not impossible. Ok st really screwed the conference with such a bad showing at Iowa If baylor can somehow knock osu down a few pegs, that would be great for Texas. It’ll take a miracle, but as I’m sure many of you have done the math, it’ll require either ok st going 2-4 in their last 6 games with Texas sweeping tcu, or 1-5 with Texas taking 2 of 3 from the frogs. Obviously a long shot, but not impossible. Ok St’s magic number is 3 wins, so they’re clearly in a dream position with 6 games to go
  20. I don’t suppose many of you spend much time on texags (which, why would you even want to subject yourselves to losing brain cells while reading their opinions?), but they’ve had a true meltdown over the rankings that came out today. They trashed some of the pollsters so much, that Kendall Rogers, d1 editor/owner and aggy grad (and by all accounts a good baseball writer and never comes across biased) had to interject and defend his site. Lol True to form, aggy was much less concerned, albeit still concerned to a degree, about being unranked as much as they were FUCKING FURIOUS that those dreaded t-sips moved up as high as they did. I emplore y’all to read later, because their tears never cease to result in hilarity
  21. Never understood how Texas tech builds a powerhouse in Lubbock out of thin air, yet I can remember the last time texas lost less than 20 games in a regular season
  22. Already playing like total dogshit. Color some shocked
