I would trust a coach like Strong to be able to possibly keep a kid like Quay engaged and on campus.  Guys like Herman, no way.

I was listening to big titty Taylor Estes who said the players hate Tom.  After recruiting Bru McCoy, Herman refused to acknowledge him in the hallways when Bru would say hi.  She said he would just ignore him and walk by.  She also stated when they all flew to California to convince him to stay, Bru simply told Herman he doesn’t want to play for him if he can’t even acknowledge him as a player.  I know McCoy is huge flake but it’s also an indictment of what an asshole Herman is.

Yep, and everyone thought it was just a comedy routine Herman had going on about not acknowledging his special team players by name.  TH is just a stupid fuck, plain and simple.

Let's keep the "bullshit" passing to a minimum, there is enough ammo without needing to make up crap. There is ZERO chance Herman is talking shit about a quote "generational" 5-star QB or that said QB would decommit because "it got back to him" and his feelings were hurt or that he actually would believe it anyway.

Haha, whatever dude.  I was passing on a quote, but if you feel like it was made up I don’t know what to tell you. Go back and listen to the show, or better yet, check his Twitter where he was asked about it later in the afternoon and doubled down and backed his info, and even gave a tad more detail.

  3. I also posted this in the Quinn Ewers thread in Recruiting...

On 104.9, Trey Elling just said that he's hearing in recruiting circles that Herman has been saying some negative things about Ewers, and that stuff got back to the Ewers family and that's how all of this came about.  Also said that Herman made no effort to rectify the comments or keep him committed.  I'm officially on the "he knows his fate and he's burning the place down on his way out."

It was a totally WTF moment.

Yeah, why would it be a big deal if we lost the #1 recruit at the most important position and that started a mass exodus from that entire recruiting class and a bunch of them went to 1 of the 3 schools that are already head and shoulders ahead of us and everyone else all the time?

You must be reading impaired or too lazy to read the rest of that paragraph/post.

  6. I’m not terribly worried if Ewers and Co commit to tOSU.  Herman is gone, Urban is on deck.  And Urban will pull some of his staff from tOSU, those guys have loyalty to him.  That gives us a chance to get them all back by signing day 2022.  And you’re crazy if you don’t think an Urban hire changes the recruiting landscape drastically and immediately, even in the 21 class.  Hell, Bowman is still out there uncommitted, playing the long game of wait and see.

If we lose a close one in Stillwater, Herman is done on Sunday.  If we get shellacked, he’s gone Saturday night.  CDC is a smart man, make no mistake about that.  He could not afford to be reactionary up until this point, because it’s sets a bad precedent for the future.  But now he wouldn’t be reactionary...recruits and their families are sending a clear message, not just fans.  When the team is officially eliminated from title game contention, this shitastic Herman era is over.

Regarding staff...Urbs keeps Yurcich and Drayton on offense, Ash, Vilai and Hutzler on defense.  He pulls the rest from tOSU, and hopefully leaves a spot to cherry-pick someone from the SMU staff since honestly they are locking down DFW right now.  Urban can’t be announced right away, but Yurcich and Ash can sure as shit get on the phone Sunday afternoon and start locking recruits in with the future of the program under an Urban Meyer regime.

reminds me of the new poster that showed up early in the morning to give us a heads up that Ewers was committing that day.. oh what a wonderful day that was.

    Take me back there please.

I’ve effing had it with a bunch of couch burners coming down and getting top recruits. I’m sick of this shit and someone needs to take a bat to some recruiter’s kneecaps - figuratively of course.

Maybe you're looking at this all wrong.  Urbs is in, is working on his staff, and is having those guys start to form a relationship with the kids Texas wants.

    One can dream, can't they?

I just listened to it. He is being a little extra pissy than normal. He's mentioned Covid and not being able to have spring ball multiple times and talking down to reporters.  No new injury news which is good.

Probably my favorite part was, when asked about Ossai's injury, he said "in lay man's terms" then proceeded to give the medical journal name.  It may have actually been the most condescending answer to a question he's ever given.

  10. I think it would depend on how early it happens.  If Urban is named at least by Thanksgiving, I think all bets are off with this being a "transition" class.  Give Urban one month before ESD and I think our recruiting outlook would flip quickly.  He is one of the few guys out there that has some serious name value that would resonate with recruits.

Boulware is suppose to be a good recruiter from what I understand, but his special teams coaching has been almost completely ass my dude. I say almost because we seem to have stopped fielding kicks and returning them to the 12 yard line. Blocked punt, blocked field goal, fumbling on the returns, and holding every got damn time we run one back well. Herb hand is...is...I got nothing man. If i talk about it I'll just start raging. McKnight has become a problem also it seems, the players appear to be built well but they lose their burst and turn into china dolls. Other then that leave the staff intact until Urban can bring in some bag me...I mean home run hires and lets win a fucking title or two.

Rod Babers mentioned earlier in the week that Tom coaches the Punt team and FG team, so Boulware isn’t responsible for those two.
