It's entertaining enough, I guess, but the fact that it's hard to tell whether it's supposed to be perfectly obvious that Maeve is the grass, or if they're trying to set it up to be a big twist, or if they're trying to set us up for a big fakeout that she isn't the grass just amounts to annoyingly ambiguous writing.
The fact that it requires subtitles is a problem for us. Mrs. Doom invariably falls asleep much more quickly than otherwise when subtitles are involved. We seem to be averaging just 15 minutes of watching this show on a quick night, and 35 on the long side.
I'll keep watching because Tom Hardy could make reading the phone book entertaining, but I feel like this show could end up being anything between a solid A and a low F when it's all done.

There will be a comeuppance - history says this shit always ends with a comeuppance. Slavery, Nazis, Stalin, the French about 20 different times...
I'm afraid of how much shit will happen between now and then.
I hope you're right, but the state, role, and prevalence of, as well as the reliance upon and capacity for misuse, etc., with respect to technology is very different right now than in the previous circumstances you cite, and it will only get harder to overcome from here.

Fine it can be bullshit to you. But Its a talking point on movies. You don’t have to like it.
But it's not a talking point. It's a please stop talking about it and find something else to manufacture your outrage over point.

That's also one benefit I count from Covid is QR code menus at restaurants. Do you want to hold this lamenated, but drug through shit paper menu or just hold your phone that belongs to you? "Yeah, i got it right here on my phone..."
I would absolutely, 1000% rather hold that shitty paper menu than have to scroll all the way through an equally shitty and buggy interface to get the full scope of a menu.
Separately but relatedly, if you're a restaurant that offers carry out but you don't have a paper menu I can keep with the other menus in the junk drawer because "the menu is online" then your food better be really fucking good for me to want to deal with that shit - especially when ordering for more than 2-3 people.
Finally, I hate how goddamn difficult it is to just peruse a menu online. I don't want to start an order, etc., etc.

So I have watched every race since about 2021 now and that Bristol race may have been the most boring piece of crap I have seen in that time frame.
Yeah, you know the sport is in a bad place when even Bristol sucks.
I didn't watch any of the races live during March Madness (and conference tournaments) so I have been slowly making my way through Martinsville when I eat my lunch home alone. Really glad that the producers chose to deliberately showcase these two characters/creatures.
Not a word of acknowledgement from the booth, either.

This is surprisingly fun and catchy.

Living alone in a dumpy apartment complex the year after undergrad, I passed out with a Hungry Man pot pie in the oven (one of those gigantic things that requires an hour or more in the oven - terrible drunk food, obviously) and awoke hours later to my apartment not exactly filling with smoke, but definitely containing smoke.
I turned off the oven, opened the doors and windows, and got ready for work.
When leaving, I placed the cooled and remarkably solid and hefty carbonized disc on the porch chair of my downstairs neighbors, the same miscreants I had been up all night drinking with.
When I came home that evening, I discovered the used-to-be pot pie had been bolted to my steel front door with a sizeable metal screw driven right through the center.
Good times.

Is she modeling men's clothing? Those are the most unflattering jeans since those giant baggy ones the skaters wore (Jenga or some shit?).
JNCO - from when the pants were gigantic and the wheels barely larger than bearing-sized.

All the interpersonal drama, general bullshit, and Walking Dead-like decision-making wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
They seem to have ample electricity if Ellie is using it for a desktop lava lamp.
Are we supposed to remember who Eugene is?

So... like a gaydar, but for people with liquid shits?
In all seriousness, my last shart was a few decades ago. January 1, 1998 to be exact. Kind of a grey day with rain threatening . My ex and I at the time were eating at Kirby Lane Cafe. I stepped outside to fart. I was wearing green boxers, and it just ran down my khakis. Luckily I was able to get my ex's attention (no cell phones back then) so we could leave.
I drove home sitting on a stack of weekly newsletters. It was squishy.
Sound like you're due.

Let me try putting it another way:
People who use drugs are really good at picking off other people on drugs.
Alcoholics can spot other alcoholics from a mile away.
This dude shits his pants and something in him said, "Hey, tell this guy. He'll understand."....and you did.
Perhaps it is something in your aura, but it looks like people know you're a sharter and they come to you.
Real recognize real.

I guess that may depend (at least in part) on the life insurance policy.
