    A&M 247 this morning

A couple months removed from announcing a list of top schools just before Thanksgiving, 2022 four-star Lewisville receiver Armani Winfield is continuing to take his recruitment in stride with a couple of schools still pushing for his commitment.

One of those is Texas A&M, who first put an offer on the table for Winfield over a year ago and hosted him for a visit during last year’s Super Bowl party. The top-100 receiver has grown close with A&M’s Dameyune Craig over the past year after hearing about his journey that began at Blount High School, near Mobile, Ala. before he wound up playing quarterback for Auburn, Carolina Panthers, Scottish Claymores (NFL Europe) and Indiana Firebirds of the Arena Football League.

“I love coach Craig, that's my dawg,” Winfield said. “Me and him relate, we kind of got the same backstory so that's the type of person I want to be around.”

The Aggies are coming off a 9-1 campaign and currently are on pace to finish with their third straight top-10 recruiting class under Jimbo Fisher. Both of those developments Winfield said certainly caught his attention.

“Oh, for sure most definitely,” Winfield said. “I'm not trying to go to a losing program.”

Other programs including Ohio State and Texas are also showing heavy interest in one of the country’s top receivers. The Buckeyes have made their presence felt in Texas in recent years and generated quite a bit of buzz following Quinn Ewers’ commitment to Ohio State last fall that Winfield could be next. The four-star receiver has not yet made a decision, however, he acknowledged the Buckeyes are among his top schools.

“They're still one of my top schools, but I'm not trying to take a blind commit you know,” Winfield said. “I got to visit the schools, I got to wait for stuff to open up.”

The Longhorns have also shown heavy interest in Winfield as of late with Andre Coleman remaining in contact with him over the past week despite the staff changes.

“Really I've been hearing the most from Texas,” Winfield said. “Coach Coleman he is pumped up about Steve Sarkisian coming in and stuff so that's probably who I have been talking to the most right now.”

The four-star receiver currently does not have a timetable for a decision.

    So much for that bullshit.

All this SEC investigation stuff seems weird to me. You've got stuff going on at LSU, Tennessee, Florida, and now possibly UGA? And they supposedly told Bama no on Bo Davis? Why now?

Does your BMD source not know?

  3. I'm simply not sleuthy enough (and I'm too damn lazy) to figure out the pet monkey reference with Banks, but somebody needs to explain...please.

Regardless, sign up the guy with the stripper wife and pet sex monkey...chop chop.

Don't know what kind of coach he is, but dude was a badass at San Fran.

  5. The defensive hiring situation is strange. I have a feeling Sark had Muschamp all lined up, along with his picks (Gideon, Hutzler, etc) but then Saban came in and asked him to come to Alabama. Now Sark is having to find a DC that is comfortable with a defensive staff that is already assembled.
I think you may be right.

Guessing Sark has guys he wants and already has agreements with and is looking for the DC that will accept them. Likely why Muschamp and Odom would be a no because they are experienced enough to believe in the guys they want with them.

I guess that could be the case, but I sure hope not.  Seems like an ass backwards way to get a good DC.

Y'all boys (and girls, allegedly) are a god damned beating.

Oh, look! This means he's coming! Oh, noes! That means he's not coming! Yes! No! Maybe! Maybe not! Maybe (go) fuck yourself!

Herman is out, Urban is in. We've acceded to pretty much every demand he had. For all we know, there may be written agreements already, which will be replaced by the actual contract at hiring. The "when" of it is up to Urban, basically. It appears that he wants to wait until the tOSU 2020 Title Run has played out - I can't think of any other good basis he might have for delaying. He has at least two jobs right now, one at Fox as Chief Talking Head for Football, and one at tOSU as Assistant AD for Football, and it seems likely he wants to make sure he's on his Happy Trail and his path is such that his existing commitments are handled properly. Supposably the Fox contract ends 12/19, so we likely won't be announcing hiring before then. tOSU could continue until the CFP Final, provided they're not sidetracked by Northwestern or by more bizarre outcomes with Ala-Fla or ND-Clemson. I think that Urban has already passed his pre-employment physical, although if something makes him even slightly uncomfortable, he could bail, but all the actions and talking we've seen have not pointed in that direction.

In case you missed it: he's coming, just not until his FOX job and his tOSU jobs are done. If the right refs get paid well enough, Northwestern could derail tOSU and our waiting could be over Saturday evening.

You make it sound like you know what you are talking about...do you know what you are talking about?

Can’t believe it’s signing day tomorrow and I couldn’t give a single fuck

Yep, hard to believe, but that's where I am too...have spent way more time monitoring a stupid-ass thread about McRibs, HSB, night/day crews, etc.

Pretty sad when recruiting is no longer fun.

I post semi-frequently during the day and the night.

What are the representatives of these programs prepared to offer for my allegiance?

One perfect, perfect, perfect McRib kolache with mayo should do the trick, right?
