Some mockery at my right wing neigbor.

He put up some sort of Walmart special flagpole, then ran a dOTaRD flag up it. It lasted a couple of days, maybe a week (not sure on the exact day it went up), before the wind bent the flagpole over at the base and it just fell over.

This thread has turned perverse and macbre with all the legitimate death wish talk. The fact that politicians rile people up in our society today so much, as a political laymen, that is scarier than any politician, policy or political outcome IMO.

Could you guys imagine if there was a thread about how people wish every day that Kamala Harris wakes up dead, choked on a KFC chicken wing, and that they are legitimately just wishing her death? You people would be outraged.

Here’s my question: What does the “everyone is in the tank for Trump” crowd think about the judge today torpedoing every motion Trump‘s team urged, lambasting Trump’s defense attorneys, shortening Trump’s appellate timetable, and setting the Stormy Daniel’s hush money trial for next month?

Trump’s dip-shit lawyer went to jail for that.  The evidence is overwhelming. Almost all of it is confirmed in written documentation, and the written documentation confirmed by witnesses.

Al Capone’s lifetime of murders was not what he went down for. It was tax evasion. This ass-clown’s treason might not be the thing they get them on, but instead lying about banging the porn star and paying her to keep quiet when he was thought vulnerable because of the ‘grab them by the pussy’ disclosure - and worried about the election if further stuff came out.

I say call me when he actually does jail time.

He was terribly burned when the helicopter he was piloting was shot down in Vietnam 55 years ago. Barely surviving, he spent two years recovering in the burn unit at Brooke Army hospital - much of that time face down in a sling apparatus.
The plastic surgeons grew him a new nose by cutting a flap of arm flesh and attaching it to the stump of his burned off original one. His arm was strapped up by his head for months while the arm flesh grew onto his face.
The surgeons did not try to replace his burned off ears and he wears a full toupee to cover his scarred bald head.
By some fortuitous miracle, when he crashed and the chopped exploded in flames, he covered his his eyes with his arm, saving his eyesight. But that arm was severely burnt.

When he was discharged from the hospital, he stayed in Army as a career officer and after several command assignments in Europe & Asia, retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Early after getting back to active duty, he married a beautiful young nurse, with whom he adopted a baby girl to raise as an army brat. (❤️).
Unfortunately tragedy struck his family about 10 years ago when his wife unexpectedly passed away from a neural event.
But he has continued to keep trucking’ on, doting on his daughter, a nurse, who recently married.
He is quite an inspirational gentleman and all around good guy.

Incidentally, He & Mrs. Brat went steady their senior year in high school and dated all through college even though they went to different schools. They broke up in their senior year a few months before I met her at a mutual friend’s wedding (that’s when she & I started our relationship and married in June of 1967).
We are all friends and are grateful to be able get together at their Taylor Duck class reunions.

When news came down that Texas A&M was hiring Trev Alberts as their new Director of Athletics, shockwaves were sent throughout the collegiate athletics landscape. Alberts has been a leader in the industry for quite some time, and is an alum of Nebraska. For those reasons, Texas A&M’s hire was rightly seen as a seismic move.

I had a seismic move this morning after my second cup of coffee.

Maybe these are all good album names for a single band.

One of my proudest moments in life occurred when I was ~10-12 years old and on a family vacation. The hotel we were staying at had live bands in the bar area and a little chalkboard sandwich board thing in front of the entrance to advertise each night's act.

"Cat Sass" was the name of the band one night, and I found their chalk and added an apostrophe so that it then appeared to proclaim that "Cat's ass" would be playing that evening.

When I worked at Barton Springs Pool as a lifeguard back in the day, there was this poster in the first aid room of a kid diving into shallow water. There was a girl yelling at him "Dave, don't dive, that's the shallow end!" Then a picture of Dave paralyzed in a wheel chair.

The caption said "Dave will never dive again." Except that it was two lines centered so the caption actually said

                                                                                                   Dave will never

                                                                                                       dive again.

Some clown with great penmanship took a sharpie that exactly matched the color of the caption and wrote in the word "muff" at the beginning of the second line. Matched the font perfectly. Unless you looked really really close you couldn't tell the word had been added.

You can sue in small claims court.

You might try one of those high frequency emitters that send out a high pitch noise that is painful to their ears when they bark. Stick it in the ground as close to the barking dog as you can get it. However, my mom tried one on the dog across the fence line and it didn't really work. Depends on the dog I guess.

There is no fucking way that the sheriff, other deputies, even the local judges and prosecutors, local mayors, local cops, didn't know this shit was going on.

Lock up every single fucking one of them. Lock up their wives, parents, children over 12, lock up anybody who is facebook friends with them, lock up anyone who voted for them, lock up anyone they owe money to.

Woman Asks Fellow Passenger To Move From Business Class to Economy So She Can Move Her Husband Up

"He's already heading this way!" the passenger recalls the woman telling him in a post shared on the subreddit, 'Entitled People'

A Reddit user recounted a shocking request made of him by a fellow passenger.

In a post shared on the Entitled People subreddit, the user canada11235813 recalled an incident in which the woman sitting next to him in business class asked him to voluntarily downgrade his seat so that she could sit next to her husband, who was seated in economy, in business.

The original poster (OP) was on a flight from Toronto to Vancouver on an unnamed airline when he says the woman sitting next to him in a two-seat center pod configuration asked him if he'd mind switching seats with her husband so the couple could sit together.

He said yes assuming that her husband was sitting somewhere else in business class, at which point the woman casually revealed that her husband's seat was actually 18B — a middle seat in economy.

"You can't seriously expect me to swap a pod for a MIDDLE seat at the back of the bus. Are you kidding me?" OP recalled saying, adding that he kept looking around to see if he was being recorded for some kind of YouTube prank.

Not only was she serious, she proceeded to throw a tantrum over OP's refusal, saying "But you said you would! He's already heading this way!"

The woman, he says, had originally been seated in economy with her husband, but took a free upgrade when it was offered to her, apparently assuming someone would readily downgrade their seat so she could sit with her spouse.

The OP said that if she could find someone in business class to switch with her husband, he'd move to any pod in the section so that they could sit together in the double pod. Or, she could sit with her husband back in economy.

Seemingly unhappy with these options, he says, she replied, "But we both want to sit together up here!"

Unable to facilitate either option because of the seating assignments, OP writes, she eventually sat down and traveled apart from her husband for the 5-hour flight.

Husband breathes a sigh of relief and enjoys the flight in blissful silence. Chuckling to himself he thinks "Fuck those assholes in first class, let them deal with her shit."

If she gave really bad/wrong jury instructions that force the jury to acquit on the classified information counts, we're looking at acquittal with no remedy.

However, that would not affect the obstruction counts, where the evidence is maybe even stronger.

The problem is that the government indicted on the section of 793 that requires that the defendant lack authority to possess the classified information in the first place, while they could have alleged the section that doesn't require that.

She appears to want to instruct the jury that the PRA may initially have made his possession of these documents rightful, even after they had left the white house.  And they have to make a finding on that.

The PRA does no such thing.

My initial read was that she was attempting to use this process to make it easier to grant Trump"s motion to dismiss on the PRA.

But she could just be girding up to give bad jury instructions. For which the government has no remedy except to dismiss the case before a jury is sworn and bring it again. In that event, doing jury instructions early like this helps the government. If they were done after the jury was sworn as is more conventional, the government would have no remedy at all.

Bring it again and get a different judge?

Good to hear. I’ve been to Barcelona before but my wife wants to go. So I want to squeeze in some new places if we do Spain as our next trip. Barcelona to Bilbao/SE then down to Madrid

If you are driving, try to drive from San Sebastian along the ocean road. Don't remember what its called, but it follows the northern coastline pretty closely for a ways out of San Sebastian. Very scenic coastlines, cliffs, and small villages along the way, although not nearly as fast as a highway.

If you are a foodie, San Sebastian is the place to be.

If you are into art or architecture, Bilbao is the place to be.

Been to Bilbao/SS several times.  It's amazing.  Just returned from a Seville / Granada trip a couple weeks ago.  Also amazing, and the weather is great right now.  I'd wanted to make that trip for years but not in the summer.  Make sure to get your tourist-type tickets online ahead of time because 2 days at each of those spots will be very tight, and you don't want to waste time standing in line.  If it were me I'd drop either Barcelona or Madrid and use those extra three days to pad the rest, but I'm sure you'll have a good time.

I'd drop Madrid before Barcelona. No question.

Is it worth it? The northern coast seems less traveled and thus more interesting to me.

    Yes, definitely worth it.

Its been 20 years, and I toured the northern coast and the Basque region (Spain and France) on bicycle. Parts were along the Camino de Santiago, more or less. Day drunks in dive bars would buy me drinks (sidra mostly) if they thought I was following the Camino (I wasn't but they didn't know that).

Also made it down to Pamplona for the Running of the Bulls (San Fermin). Check that madness out if you have the chance. Lots of tourists there for that though.

Loved the area around San Sebastian and the northern coast. Very scenic, beautiful country, friendly people. Great beaches. Bilbao is very cool, great architecture. Beautiful little towns along the coast, not very touristy at all (at least back then). The entire Basque region is pretty awesome actually, and the food is absolutely incredible. I'm not a world traveler, but I have been around some, and that area is one of the favorite places I've been to.

People are friendly and gregarious, just don't mouth off about Basque independence in any dive bars. In some of those bars, you are in Euskadi, not Spain.
