So we're tied for most picks now right?  Looks like Michigan and Washington also have 9.

Oregon had 5 (FIVE) in the 4th round alone.

    They also had Nix.

Don’t know who else, but they have to be close.

EDIT: Oregon has 7 so far.

Bullshit from “draft experts” that most never worked in a pro personnel office or scouted. Or played the game. They got beebe and their original target with the trade down. Kneel and is highly rated on the edge.

It’s always interesting to see where these experts are after three seasons. They have about the same success rate as a monkey with a dart board.

    ACCURACY

Kiper has received sustained criticism for the low accuracy of his predictions. According to COLD HARD FOOTBALL FACTS, Kiper's accuracy for the first round of the 2005–2008 NFL drafts was 32 of 127 total picks (25.2%), which included players that had already signed or were in the process of signing with a team before the draft.[12][13]

According to THE HUDDLE REPORT in 2014, based on Kiper's final mock drafts, he had accurately predicted 23% of the first round picks in the previous five years.[9] Kiper's initial drafts were even lower, correctly predicting 17 out of 256 from 2010–2018.[4] In 2021,

FANTASY PROS ranked Kiper's final mock draft 87th of 182 and

GRADING THE EXPERTS ranked his draft 32nd of 38.[14]

In 2023, Kiper correctly predicted only one of the 31 draftees in the first round despite updating his analysis on the morning of the NFL draft after gathering additional information.

Which NFL coach's wife did JT Sanders plow to get this treatment?

Probably the coach married to a strength coach who was busied getting plowed during their sessions rather than getting him physically prepared for the most important day of the start of his post-collegiate career.

He both pissed off a coach as well as showed up at the NFL combine in sub-optimal physical condition.

    Keon Coleman over Adonai!! What!!!

I didn’t want Adonai to go to the Buffalo winter, so I’m fine with Buffalo getting a former Michigan State WR.

I don’t see Harbaugh drafting a questionable blocker.

Felt that it would be Ladd or one of the top two defenders:  Iowa CB or A&M LB

Adonai isn’t Harbaugh’s kind of guy.

Would love to see him go to Atlanta.

  6. That was a hell of a 3rd set and a hell of a tie-breaker to cap it off.

That Danielovic (sp?) can play when she isn’t letting nerves overtake her. She can crush it.

But Danimal gets her 14 win in a row and she’s on to the 3rd round.

    espn.com has a round 2 mock up:

Mitchell to New England at #34

Brooks to Las Vegas at #44

    Sweat to Dallas at #56

    Sanders to Houston at #59

should be an exciting 2nd round tonight!

Don’t know if Sweat will go that high, but as a Cowboys fan, I would love it.

This is about where he was projected pre-DWI, so if he goes this high, then the outrage/moral high ground didn’t last a month.

Nailed it, always making the contrarian pick. Resulted in busts like Trey Lance and Javon Kinlaw

Kind of like Bill Belichick. That guy absolutely sucked ass picking in the 1st & 2nd round, but got bargain prices on veterans who wanted to come get a ring with Tom Brady… who also took less than market so that there would be more money for free agents.

If SF hadn’t lucked out on Brock Purdy, Kyle Shanahan & John Lynch may be gone by now, or on the hot seat going into this season. Their move to get Trey Lance could have set the franchise back 5 years if not for Mr. Irrelevant saving their asses.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch got a text from star receiver Brandon Aiyuksoon after drafting Florida’s Ricky Pearsallwith the 30th pick.

Aiyuk's message about his former teammate was glowing: “Fire pick. Can’t lie.”

The Niners ended the first day of the NFL draft by adding a rookie receiver in Pearsall and keeping its established stars Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel despite heavy speculation that one of them could have been moved Thursday night.

San Francisco is trying to get a long-term deal done with Aiyuk after giving Samuel one two years ago, raising the question of whether the 49ers would trade Aiyuk if they can't sign him or trade Samuel if they can and aren't willing to carry two high-priced receivers on the roster.

Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan wouldn't definitively rule out any potential trades of Aiyuk or Samuel but deemed it as unlikely, especially now that the first round of the draft is over.

“I know that we’re continuing to have positive talks with BA," Lynch said. “We are really efforting to get something done with him. We’re excited about continuing down that path with Brandon being a part of this team and Deebo is a part of this team and a big part of this team. We feel great about that group and we feel like we’ve made it better.”

Pearsall had 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns last season at Florida and gives the Niners a possible option as a slot receiver. Pearsall was known for some highlight-reel catches during his time in college and now is the latest potential playmaker added to a dynamic offense that made it to the Super Bowl last season.

Pearsall began his college career at Arizona State where he was teammates with Aiyuk in 2019, leading to the happy text Aiyuk sent to Lynch and a congratulatory call to Pearsall.

“We have a really good relationship,” Pearsall said. “I just got off the phone with him before I got over here on this Zoom call, and he was just congratulating me and telling me over and over again, ‘You’re a first rounder, man. Soak it up.’ There's been a lot of work put in since we last ran routes together. I feel like I’m a totally different player since the last time we've seen each other.”

Pearsall got on the radar of many observers thanks to his one-handed catch against Charlotte last September that quickly became an internet sensation.

It was the more routine work that impressed the Niners, who stressed his ability to play inside and outside, his attention to detail on route-running, ability to block downfield and refusal to go down at first contact as big reasons why they drafted him.

“There’s not one play,” said Shanahan, who compared Pearsall to a far more talented version of himself as a a little-used wide receiver at Texas more than two decades ago.

“He’s going to go over the middle and do everything he can to catch that ball and not worry about anything else. When he’s on the sidelines he’s not taking the easy way out. He makes guys tackle him and is not looking for a place to fall. When he doesn’t have the ball, he plays just as hard.”

This was the first time the Niners had a pick in the first round since 2021 when they drafted quarterback Trey Lance third overall. San Francisco traded their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 to move up nine spots that year to take Lance, who started only four games for the 49ers before being traded to Dallas last August.

I know that he didn’t play, but only some Mustangs moved the switch out of the strum path.

R.L.’s guitar maker apparently fixed Leo’s stupidity.

Maybe Sark is hearing impaired and trying to further endear himself to the Austin community.

And maybe CTJ has not suffered hearing damage yet.

Lance has something like 19 college starts, against FCS “talent” and (I think) 4 NFL starts. Here:

    IMG_4703.thumb.jpeg.c5252ffca04a32c0f1568f3022c67382.jpeg

And then you look at what Penix did against mostly Power 5 opponents.

    Penix has…

    IMG_4704.thumb.jpeg.39ac49abd29b5856d07bbdbb6aef4712.jpeg

Penix has about 2 1/2 times as many college games under his belt as Lance and about 4 times as many pass plays in college as Lance has in college and the NFL combined.

Lance could ultimately be a good QB, but he needs to play some spring football every year just to get experience.

The spring league is better than what he faced in college and would really help him bridge the gap. It sucks that he and his family chased that first contract, because the contracts that follow may never be above league minimum.

Brilliant moves by Bills if they can get the guy they wanted, pay him 2nd round money, and load up on other picks.

Could be Mitchell, could be someone else.

sucks, that with a 1 pick difference, just being able to say "1st round pick"

we might have won the 1st round if they stayed put

Washington and LSU had 2 guys in the Top 10 and 3 guys in the 1st round.

Alabama had 1 guy in the Top 10 and 3 guys in the 1st round.

Texas was never “winning the first round” with our first pick coming in at #16.

Eastern Time Zone probably has 53% of rabid college football fans.

In general, the west coast doesn’t give a fuck about college football.

They’re talking about JJ fucking McCarthy being the number 2 pick.  Quinn would’ve been a mid 1st round guy after the combine.

Show me a game last year where JJ self-sacked or looked a little off.

I don’t think that JJ is going to be a great QB, but he was much steadier than Quinn and not injury prone.

I don’t see any draft pattern that ha had Quinn going in the first round this year. Too many question marks

I would think that he would be on the back end of the Nix/Penix grouping at best.

If he played every week like he did against Alabama (both years minus the injury), then he would be a Top 4 pick. But he didn’t.
