  2. Watching a little Women’s Doubles now and Martina Navratilova is doing color commentary…

She knows more about tennis than everyone else on the Tennis Channel put together.

If people would do everything she told them to do, she would e the best coach in tennis. Singles or doubles, but her doubles expertise is many times greater that the #2 expert out there than her singles.

But she is like a supercomputer of tennis analysis.

And she’s retiring later this year (most likely after the US open) so she can start a family! 🤰

I knew that she was retiring and I think that that has helped her temper her temper.

She was locked in and hitting some excellent shots yesterday.

    In other news…

    SINNER is fucking on 🔥!!

The Cowboys trading up to take the deepest position in the draft when it isn't even one of their biggest needs is a baffling take.

If anything, I'd like the Cowboys to trade down and pick up an extra day 2 pick so they can get an additional starter at LB/DT/DB/OL.

Otther than that DL slug from Michigan last year (?), the Cowboys have drafted really well the last 5 years or so.

Given that, I don’t see the Cowboys trading UP to pick up any WR.

    What I’ve been saying!

Against us in NOLA, he was placing the ball in his WRs’ hands with a precision that most NFL QBs will never experience in their lives.

He also had 5X the pocket awareness and sidestepping ability that one Quinn Ewers has ever shown. Yes, the same Quinn Ewers who some people think will go 1.1.

I’m sure that there have been many more “Deuce y Uno”s, than “Dos a Cero”s, but I doubt that this is the kid’s first.

…but it appears that Grigor has hit a wall (energy wise).

Carlitos now 0-40 to get back on serve. Grigor looks dead.

Bought those like two seasons ago, when first posted, and they look good. One thing is they have very thin soles (volleyball shoes (?)), but you’ll feel more stuff under foot than a regular shoe. Of course they are “Nike Narrow” too.

    Hook’em!!!

    I am a 2E shoe guy and so I don’t buy NIKEs.

ASICS is my brand. Don’t think that they make a lot of Longhorn shoes.

Think he means this guy. His film is real good. He can really move. There is one funny play where he gets blown 5 yards off the LOS but he still makes the tackle (1:20). Not sure I would have put that one in there.

After watching above video... Jayden may not last more than a few years as a starting QB in the NFL

After watching the video, I am thinking that Jayden is going to be glad that he no longer plays college football, because QBs are much more protected in the NFL.

I disagree. Bob Bradley was fired after making the Gold Cup final in 2011. Granted, we had Klinsmann in the wings ready to go when that happened, so that had a lot to do with it.

But still, I can't help but think there is some consideration that the decision to retain Bradley isn't some mistake This team isn't getting a lot better with the maintained continuity. If this team flounders and/or flames out of the Copa American - I wouldn't be shocked to see Berhalter relieved of his duties.

    I would be floored.

After all of the shit from the World Cup fallout and then BJ wins the Nations League with ease in 2023, to then bring back a shlub that some players were vocally not impressed with, you are committed to this guy.

US Soccer hired a guy who was then given Gregg’s strengths as strengths to look for when hiring a new manager and low-and-behold, Gregg checked off all of the boxes? SHOCKING!

I don’t even think that Gregg would be fired if we lost all 3 group games at the Copa.

    His seat isn’t even warm.

We needed to lose to Jamaica’s B team AND not make it out of the group in the Copa and only then, would there be a hot seat. Then it would depend on a player mutiny and pushback from financial sponsors & talking heads.

Not one talking head thinks that Gregg is a good manager, but they all accept that he is the guy.

That last quarter of the Michigan game was eye opening.  If you give him a clean pocket and time, he's Mark Rypien and will tear you to shreds.  If he has to do it on the go/underpressure, he's also Mark Rypien and his game falls apart pretty quick.

For other Mark Rypien comparisons see:

Is there any indication whatsoever that Gregg is at risk to lose his job if he doesn't get a certain result in the tournament?  They REHIRED the guy, when they already had a built in solution to move in another direction.  Get used to him remaining on the sidelines.

Gregg would have only maybe  been in trouble if we had (1) Lost to Jamaica 🇯🇲, AND (2) Not made it out of the group in the Copa.

    #1 didn’t happen.

Gregg will be the manager through 2026 barring his demise in a car crash, falling off of a hotel balcony, slipping in the shower and falling on a gun that unloads 3 to 5 rounds in his back & head, food poisoning of the Putin-esque kind, a politician sicks his mob on him…

The loss to Jamaica really needed to happen. It didn’t.

The talking heads on podcasts and such ask “Which big name coach is available? Who would really take this job right now?”

I would take BJ Callaghan in a heartbeat right now.

It doesn’t have to be a big name, it just needs to be a person who understands how to let the players cook.

    🤬

  14. Apparently Sabalenka was no longer with the “boyfriend” who came to Miami to commit suicide.

Aryna Sabalenka capitulates in sad scene at Miami Open after ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov’s death

The Australian Open champion’s emotions finally came pouring out after bottling up a tragic week.

A tragic and emotional week for two-time Australian Open tennis champion Aryna Sabalenka has come to an end with a third-round loss to Anhelina Kalinina at the Miami Open — just days after her ex-boyfriend reportedly took his own life.

Former Belarusian national ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov passed away on Monday morning in what the Miami-Dade Police Department described as an “apparent suicide”.

Sabalenka and Koltsov dated for about three years but had recently broken up before the 42-year-old’s death.

And after a gutsy second-round win on Friday over best friend Paula Badosa, the world No.2 appeared to have little left in the tank physically, mentally or emotionally for a late night Saturday stadium court battle with Ukrainian Kalinina.

When her return wide gave Kalinina the 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 result, the 25-year-old Belarusian bowed her head, took a few steps then flew into a rage, venting her frustration by smashing her racquet to pieces at centre court.

With racquet destroyed, she then turned and walked off court without shaking the Ukrainian’s hand.

“It’s always tough to play on big stages against these top players,” Kalinina said. “Today was really tough with nerves but I managed in the tough moments to deal with it. So, I’m a little bit proud of myself today.”
