Time to get a big time recruiter to fill that open assistant seat.
Wouldn't there be two assistant spots?
Ogden's spot (if he moves back to GM) and Terry's spot (unless we already permanently filled it).

Brown called Maldonado out to the mound with a 2-1 count after he walked the first guy in the 2nd inning
sparks speculated the pitcher calling the catcher out that maybe brown was getting confused on where Maldy was setting up…
and then he proceeded to grow 2 straight balls after the visit
but sparks did say “he’s not missing by much, is he?”
the third guy he walked in the inning he fell behind, got it 3-2, guy fouled off several pitches in a row and then brown missed high on the last pitch of his outing
I hope he saw his urologist about that.

I love Pena, but let’s see him get his OBP north of .300 (really, .330) before comparing him to Correa.
Pena seemed to make the necessary adjustments late in the season. His postseason OBP was .367
We'll see how many games Correa plays in a non-contract year.

I’d consider Peña over Correa

For production levels and availability this year and into the future.

1. the act of consoling or state of being consoled; solace. 2. a person or thing that is a source of comfort in a time of suffering, grief, disappointment, etc.
I think the root word he was aiming at was counsel.

Would be the likely one to lose his place on the roster and it's not like he's locked a spot down anyway since the injury seemingly tanked his production and/or confidence at the plate.
I think/hope he should be better this year and build on the positives he showed in 2021.
Last year was a wasted season for him. He probably came back too soon and that threw everything off.
The Astros are going to give him and Chas every opportunity to show what they have the first half of the year before they move to other options.

Gonna go out on a limb and bet he makes the opening day active roster as the fourth outfielder.
Over Myers?

Maybe the staff is counting on Goram-Welch to be a big contributor...

Jamaal Charles was on the 05 team and i don't remember exactly but not giving him more carries was borderline coaching malpractice. was 5th highest in the country (in what is one of the more crazy stats i've ever seen Reggie Bush got 200 carries that year and averaged 8.7 YPC, i knew he had a ton but 8.7!) - there were 2 dudes who there were 2 dudes ahead of him who averaged .2 more YPC or he would have been in the top 3. he should have gotten the ball more, period.
Henry Melton got 87 attempts despite Charles having a 2.4 YPC higher average. Ramonce was what he was, but giving 99 carries to Melton and Chris O was way too many.
Melton only got carries in short yardage situations and still averaged 5 ypc.
Ogbonnaya got carries in garbage situations.
There's only one football. I think they did a great job distributing carries among Young, Charles, and Taylor.

Yeah, chances are Pierce will never win A national championship, since 100% of our coaches over the last 80 years have won TWO national championships.

I can't believe the Astros agreed to partner with Oxy.
