    2) I could definitely see rocks being used to hold tents down in place on a windy day, and I'd bet the pigs would call anything near them as being "strategically placed within the encampment"

    “Furtive placement,” imo.

Why are they setting up tents in the first place? Are people resting in them in between protests or something? I don't understand what purpose they serve.

What makes you think it’s any of your fucking business, Karen?

This is too much for me, but that would be incredible. Pretty sure you can’t open carry on campus though.

You can’t stifle free speech on campus, either, but the commies who passed that law found out that you can’t stop brave American Patriots willing to stand up to oppression and stomp some smartmouthed college kids for fun.

I have a God-given constitutional right to carry a semiautomatic rifle with me at all times. If purposelessly wielding an AR15 in a powder keg situation is wrong, then everything America stands for is wrong. And god dammit, I’m not about to stand here and let you besmirch the United States of America.

Dude all the protesters are in the South lawn. No one here is going to be impressed and want to fuck you.

Oh cool. You're like Beetlejuice, except I only had to type “dumb fucking fascist” once for you to suddenly appear.

I understand what you're saying but to me this is what actual small government conservatism should be completely against.

That may be how small-government conservatives spin it. But what that movement has always truly been against is fair taxation, sensible regulation, and an equitable society.

I didn’t get as much out of the Army as some people, but I will say that basic training did a number on making me stop being self-conscious . . .  I sometimes think some of these incels could use an experience like that

Hey, that’s a good idea! Let’s give these depressed loners guns and combat training.

Sorry if this has already mentioned, but as far as the argument that Jewish students might feel threatened, keep in mind that Abbott and Magastans crusade for “free speech on campus” started with attempts to preclude hateful right wing nut jobs from speaking on campus because Black and LGBTQ students often felt seriously threatened. The response was a resounding “fuck your feelings, first amendment bro.” For the record I’m generally against precluding those speakers too based solely on the content of their hate speech, same here, the hypocrisy is fucking maddening. It’s a fucking constant from that side, one set of rules for them, and another for “others.” So for that alone, Abbott wheel lickers are scum of the earth.

It was never about principled free speech. It was about trolling the Libs. And, of course, supporting Nazi bullshit.

Yes there were tents. Yes the protestors violated rules. But yes, there was an over-reaction to the situation. So in reality, like everything these days, the truth is somewhere in the middle

What a lazy fucking bullshit analysis. “One side violated silly rules without harming anyone, the other violated constitutional rights by force. Both sides were wrong!”

Do you work for the New York Times?

That’s some serious bullshit. It’s amazing to me that the University is tripling down on this. This is some serious backwater shit.

None of this should be surprising. Fascism has been gaining strength in this country — and especially this state — for a long time. Anyone who reacts to the latest outrage with surprise just hasn’t been paying attention or has been leaning on normalcy bias.

While a fair point, my guess would be Hartzell was told there would be DPS guys on campus and that was it. What the cops were told to do likely didn’t come from Hartzell in the chain of command.

You don’t have to guess. Just read his letter and texts.
