  1. Sark. Is. Dumb. There’s no other explanation. He repeatedly makes the same stupid decisions with the same poor result. Anyone with even three functional neurons would have adjusted by now. But not our head coach.
  2. All ass, no breaks.
  3. He makes Speedy Gonzales look like Regular Gonzales.
  4. I’m cracking up at the image of RFK explaining how to count sperm like Charlie telling Dennis how to count gasoline.
  5. “MIKE JUDGE SEVERELY UNDERESTIMATED OUR STUPIDITY” would be more accurate.
  6. Y’all should check out the Know Rogan podcast. Kind of in the same vein as Knowledge Fight, although not as humorous. Two dudes play clips of Rogan and dissect all the nonsense. It’s worth a listen.
  7. Maybe the best Seinfeld episode. Also, Seinfeld has apparently gone off the deep end in recent years.
  8. Shit. DT board. Can we move this to CR to have a more honest conversation?
  9. Our universities are so fucked.
  10. John Wayne was a massive fraud and a huge piece of shit.
  11. Thanks for the rec. Just watched this and will now dive into their back catalog.
  12. “Unclog toilets… FOR THE GOOD OF THE REICH!”
  13. I’m not so sure. Who’s the opposition force? Maybe this leads to an insurrection. But I don’t see how blue states could sustain an open military resistance against the US military for more than a few days. Of course, that assumes the military doesn’t fracture.
  14. Follow-up question: “And did you bother to think about whether that makes any sense whatsoever? Or do you just trust anything a politician tells you when it’s what you want to hear?”
  15. I have been insisting for a while now that UT’s academic standing in the world has peaked. I think that’s true for Texas generally. It will take a while for students to catch up to the likely faculty exodus, but the brain drain over the next decade plus will be significant.
  16. Sen. Kennedy: if we don’t ramp up food inspection protocols, we could all turn into xenomorphs from the movie Alien. If this insane shit somehow works, we should use it to our advantage. *Sen. Warren stands before a poster-sized photo of Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory* “If we don’t protect the right to abortion, your wife will turn into a giant blueberry and float away.” *Adam Schiff plays a clip of the Predator shooting off both of Dillon’s arms* “Is this what you want, America? Do you want Dillon to lose his arms? Because if we don’t protect the right to vote by mail, the Predator will shoot off both of Carl Weathers’s arms… for real this time.” *Bernie takes the podium in full Pennywise cosplay* “If we don’t start taxing billionaires fairly, evil clowns will grab your children and eat them in the sewer. Please, my fellow Americans. I beg you: save your children from the evil sewer clowns”
  17. No worries. I already have heavy metal coursing through my veins.
  18. Man, I just don’t agree with that. At all. I’ve witnessed people I’m very close with struggle to fix themselves the natural route. They fought fucking hard and endured long stretches of painful, ineffective effort to overcome their depression. Because they saw it as some kind of flaw that they were obligated to fix the hard way. Medication was a last resort, only after it became clear that all the acceptable self-help shit wasn’t working. And they only begrudgingly tried medication, saddled with guilt and shame for not being able to fix themselves the Right Way. The stigma is counterproductive. SSRIs can help people. Why force those people to struggle with a bunch of bullshit just because that’s the way men dealt with problems back in the days when high school football players treated dehydration with salt tablets and losing consciousness?
  19. A friend and his family are here from India on an H-1 visa. A few months ago, his wife explained to us that Trump will be “better for immigrants” presumably compared to Biden or Harris. I just shook my head, dumbfounded and sad. There’s a weird self-centered naïveté that emerges in model minority communities.
  20. Here’s the problem with that: it’s no different than saying that rather than transition genders, maybe try the Atkins diet, take some multivitamins, and talk to a church elder. It diminishes what people struggling with depression and crippling anxiety are dealing with. I know a few people on SSRIs and I can say with 100% certainly that they would rather not be and that they tried other routes like therapy, meditation, diet, supplements, exercise, etc., etc. with no success. I can also say that they have all tried to go off of SSRIs (some multiple times) only to spiral back into depression. And I believe that SSRIs may have saved their careers and possibly lives, and that the medication appears to have allowed them to be productive and happy again.
  21. Huh. Not sure why the fact that America’s top health official is a sentient California Raisin with a fistful of pea gravel rattling around in its larynx causes you to question reality.
  22. President @dril, imo
  23. Did you go to Catholic School?
