  1. That's what it's always been and is still enormously popular. I looked out of curiousity and it's not an AAC conference game, each got the same number of AAC opponents as the rest of the conference and next week is a non-conference game.
  2. That’s about as likeable as he’s capable of, he’s still a piece of shit.
  3. I could get behind the idea of the champs getting the bye then reseeding after the opening round but it might further diminish the CCGs.
  4. The TE from Miami was on his 9th year right?
  5. I feel like I shouldn’t have to remind people what the program was like before Gundy (including his tenure as OC under Les Miles). You don’t can a guy who has literally transformed the program and made 18 straight bowl games over one bad season. I don’t think we made 18 bowl games in the 100 years before he came back to coach. I wish he’d manage his mouth a little better but I’ll take winning seasons over the alternative. The minute he’s gone we become a stepping stone job where half the hires will bust and the other half (if we’re lucky) have enough success and gets poached after 2-3 years.
  6. Lol wut? They were terrible. He’s always been stubborn af about replacing coordinators voluntarily. Needed to happen. His job is not in jeopardy.
  7. He’s not in any danger but the DII hire for DC was a complete bust, and Dunns offenses even in our better years never lived up to prior iterations. I was going to be super pissed if we didn’t replace them, at least the DC.
  8. I wonder if the SMU ad will feel the same if they lose and Bama is on over them. The committee should consider SMU a one loss team regardless since Bama gets to sit at home after letting Jackson Arnold drag his mediocre nuts across their faces. But like I said before they bring the ratings and the committee should just be honest about it.
  9. Pollard has a legitimate point. The 9th Big 12 game is a significant boost to the SOS but is meaningless to the committee which reasons around anything that doesn’t support their preferred outcome. Bama is in for TV ratings, period, regardless of whatever bs they give as their reasoning. It sucks for competition but realignment proved that money is all that matters anymore in CFB and there’s no reason to act surprised or get angry. I just kind of wish they’d be honest about it instead of always using bs inconsistent reasoning. Here’s all they had to say “Considering Bamas historic popularity and success including their run over the last 15 years, they receive a significant benefit of any doubt. The financial boon they bring to the system benefits everyone so they get the nod.”
  10. So were they already obsessed with "history" and "turdition" when they did this instead of going to "State" like all the other A&M colleges during that era? They seem to go hand in hand that they are the only major remaining "A&M" and also the ones dancing like Kansas City F-----s on the sidelines like it's the 1930s.
  11. I had to tune out at halftime because FML but damn CU's players really are over the top especially for a 3 loss team. The ref that pointed out that CU's players were blowing kisses to the crowd definitely should not have said it considering his position but he wasn't wrong. I know there is a lot of irrational hate for Prime and his squad but they seem to double down on it for the sole purpose of creating more haters and I do think it's annoying. I still like Prime and he's proven to be a good coach, and I don't fully blame him for the in your face culture these days. This weekend's brawls and the majority of comments about them just show that winning with class and dignity is dead as declared by a bunch of fake alphas who are now the prodominant voice in our society. Whatever, I am legitimately curious though how serious he is about his players not opting out of bowl games. He of all people strike me as the type to understand why Travis Hunter would prefer to not risk injury as the likely No. 1 overall pick for a meaningless trophy in whatever Corporate Sponsor Bowl they get assigned. My guess is he'll play but his snaps will be limited. Not sure how to do that with Shedeur without looking like a hypocrit.
  12. There’s plenty of extra money from the expanded playoff. Conference championship games just don’t feel the same anymore. I’d be fine with just using the regular season records and tiebreakers to award the trophy. The uneven schedules are already a problem so who cares.
  13. Pedo fans not buying them for reasonable price?
  14. Big 10 tickets are going for $15 right now, maybe because Oregon is so far away (fucking realignment). ACC tickets are going for $50. SEC tickets are close to $200, not unexpected considering UGA is down the road and UT is in its first champ game for the conference. The Big XII game might not officially sellout but it will be filled enough that you won’t see empty seats unless maybe if they show the Jumbotron viewing seats at the upper levels of that stupid fucking stadium.
  15. They were pretty darn good last year and have had some good seasons. That’s the difference, there’s no perennial cellar dwellers in the Big XII anymore. Baylor and even KU have learned how to not be terrible all the time. OKST was in the CCG last year and is 0-7 this year. The preseason predictions were largely backwards of where it ended up. That’s what will make the league interesting going forward. The SEC and BIG pecking order is largely permanent. Indiana is the only major outlier this season.
  16. Some ACC schools didn't want SMU, so it's pretty damn funny that they ran through it and hopefully closes it out this weekend. I'm pretty sure aggy was the only SEC school butthurt about the new adds, UT in particular. I know the BIG was hestant at first about UO and UW but my guess is they're fine considering the money. The Big XII was ecstatic to get the four corners.
  17. I don't know much about ASU's fanbase but you can be damn sure the Cyclone fans will be driving to Dallas in droves. I can't imagine the stadium won't be full. If not technically a sellout it's gonna be close.
  18. Everything I've seen is that UCF fans were happy to see Gus leave and that the parting was mutual. FSU can't be too happy. He might still have it as an OC but it's no home run at this point.
  19. I think a GM model is inevitable for every school because the turnover and money side has doubled the work of the Head Coach who already works 12 to 15 hour days or more. HC has the final say and can interject where appropriate, but there’s only so much time in a day.
  20. Our facilities are way better these days so we're not at that enormous disadvantage as in our past. Pat Jones has said on the radio that when they did oncampus visits with recruits they purposefully avoided the stadium. Everything else is correct, you don't force a guy out one year removed from a CCG appearance becasue of one bad season, the first losing season in 20 years. If they wanted to fire him it shouldn't be about the season but his off the cuff comments that keeps getting him in trouble. He's grumpy about it, as are a bunch of coaches at all levels, but has adapted to NIL and the portal like everyone else. When people go off aobut firing him I always remind them that the University of Texas, the bluest of the blue bloods with all the money in the world, went through a decade of medicrity through three bad coaching hires, why would anyone think we'd hit gold all of a sudden? If he goes the way of Mack Brown we might consider it after a few more bad years, but not this year, that's crazy. If he doesn't replace the coordinators though, I'll be pushed pretty far to the skeptics side, his biggest problem has been stubbornness with his assistant coaches. He made a comment at his last presser that programs that want to win are investing in the coaching staff, makes me wonder if he's pressuring the University for a bigger budget to hire coordiators. He made a dumbass comment last year when he hired Brian Nardo out of DIII as defensive coordinator that we "could afford him." If he's grumpy about anything these days its the same gripe he's been passive aggressivly been harping on for years, the coaching budget.
  21. The AP has ASU at No. 12 and ISU at No. 16. I think the winner will jump Bama to No. 11 and get the 11 seed with Bama getting the 12 seed, assuming SMU wins the ACC CCG and is the only ACC team in the field.
  22. I think SMU is in even with a loss and even over Alabama. They said that teams would not be punished for participating in CCGs so if they are in before the game they should be in afterward regardless of outcome. SMU would be in if the seeding was today. The Big XII runner-up isn't in as of right now so only the champ gets in this year. If they let Bama in over a runner-up SMU who should be viewed as a one loss team vs a three loss Bama the committee will do to CCGs what they said they would not, and even though its the ACC, it would not be good for the system. But I really think SMU wiill win and will be the only ACC team in so Bama will get a spot.
  23. So ND is in, Miami is out, right? Clemson is in with a win and out with a loss. I think SMU should be in even if they lose. If aggy wins tomorrow and loses to UGA does Bama get in or aggy?
  24. Try telling that to a player. If they agree and walk away they're fucking pussies. I have no problem with them pushing back.
  25. Ideally yeah, but they just supposed to stand there and let it happen? I don't blame them at all for pushing back.
