Bruce isn't running anything.  He has good awareness, and is doing well winning advantages, but the only votes he is steering is when others let him.  Drew, Emily, and Dee are playing winning games, with Austin and Julie in positions to make moves.

Bruce will go as far as his advantages take him.  People can win doing that, but it's the more difficult path.  He may have to become a "take them to the end because they can't win" person to save himself at some point, but I don't think that is his game.

i get that, but hes winning in the sense that nobody likes him, they all want to vote him out, but he's still there.  they all know he has an idol, want to flush it out, but never do.   the girls should have stayed loyal to their alliance.  have no idea what advantage they think it is to them to keep boston jake and give up kellie.  dumb move.

  2. there was some major editing in that episode.  they showed pitching the idea of kellie to the girls but they just stared at him blankly and never brought it up again.  shocked that dee and julie voted for her.

drew and bruce are running the show.  it's theirs to lose at this point.

He’s not a good killer right?  I mean he has all these rules and mantras but he isn’t very good at what he does. He’s a legend in his own mind. Isn’t his whole revenge tour against his own rules?

that part made it almost a comedy.  the professional that has all these rule in his for how to be successful and he fails.  maybe a rule about not letting your targets mistress walk into the shot?  might want to jot that one down.

i'd like to see fassbender play one of the dumb and dumber characters. maybe a taxi driver with a bronx accent. the dude seems to have zero range.  he's the same character in every movie.

those negative points aside, there did seem to be some excellence in the script and direction.  i wouldnt go as far as brilliance but it was above average for a netflix production.

I am heading to BB tomorrow with friends.. We have South Rim, Santa Elena Canyon, and McDonald Observatory on the agenda..

I have a question about Ernst Tinaja.. I have a 2wd Ford Expedition.. Is this sufficient to drive on the road to access this trail? I took the same vehicle down Old Maverick Rd last year, no issues..

done ernst tinaja several times in a standard suv.  you shouldnt have any problems.

I really thought Kaleb was going to be in it for a bit longer.  At least he made the jury.

They made it look like telling Katurah about Bruce's idol is what turned her to the other side, but I think that was editing bullshit.  She would have been crazy to be willing to go to rocks if she could easily avoid it by voting out Kaleb.

    One Lulu left.

telling katurah about bruces idol backfired on kaleb.  he thought it would be some bonding experience and show honesty and trustworthiness, but she quickly realized how many people her part of letting bruce get the idol to begin with and keeping her out of it.  all she got out of that is the opposite of honesty and trustworthiness.

Emily is having to pivot to an "under the radar" strategy with no natural allies left other than Kaleb, which means demonstrating that she is willing to work with others.  It almost bit her in the ass, though.  Either she was confident that J would get at least one vote from someone else, that J would become the obvious target on a revote, or she didn't bother thinking about the contingencies if Kaleb won his shot in the dark.

Regardless, the remaining Lulus live to fight another day.  Sometimes a bigger threat emerges after something like this, but obviously it is in Kaleb's best interest to find an advantage or win immunity for the foreseeable future.

I still think Kaleb and Emily are getting favorable editing, but that episode certainly tested my faith.

yeah, i get all that.  but what would it take, what was her mindset, to write down the name of the only ally in the game you have?  that must have been unnerving, unless there were some conversations edited out.

  7. okay, whats going on with this liquid smoke issue?  i cant tell who's serious.  i was raised by a smoker and liquid smoke was as taboo in my mind as beans in chili.  not only was i taught that, but i tried once.  i mean who doesnt want the convenience of smoke in a jar in your cabinet 24/7?  sound great, but doesnt work. the taste is off-putting.  is there someone on here that believes its a legit ingredient in bbq or any kind of cooking for that matter?

I've never seen the shot in the dark work.

I guess Emily voted for he ride or die to leave tho?

i didnt understand why she didnt vote for j.  that would have been the end of it with no revote needed.  i'm guessing she didnt want to put a target on her back.  kind of a cowardly "go along to get along" thing.

Younger brother is headed down from Boston for the KState game and looking for some Austin BBQ recos (not going to spend the time to wait in Franklin-type lines). I gave him most of the standards, anything else I should put on his radar that hits the right balance of great bbq + not killing half a day? Haven't been in austin full time in a while, so not up on many of the newer spots

    Terry Blacks

    Blacks

    Micklethwait

    Valentinas

    Leroy & Lewis

    La Barbecue

    Stiles Switch

micklethwait, valentinas, leroy and lewis, and la are the top 4 on your list.  they should prioritize accordingly.  i might add interstellar and distant relatives if they want more.

They do seem to be hinting at that, but I would not call that one a casting failure, just bad luck.  Casting someone with that accent was the failure.  They were clearly hoping for another Boston Rob.

hitting your head is bad luck.  i'm thinking it might be a medical condition, which they could have caught.

    Another quitter. Fantastic. 🙄

that didnt make any sense.  dude may be bipolar.  he went from one second of pitching himself and saying how loyal he'd be and his positive energy and what he brings to the tribe, to vote me off.   what the ?  i thought it might be a ploy to keep sifu from playing his shot in the dark.  still not sure if he wanted to be voted off or if that was a ploy.

and where did the vote for dee come from?  it was always between sifu and shawn.  you can tell sifu is already going to be vindictive and headhunting enough that someone wrote his name down.  i wonder what dee is going to do.  that was an utter cluster of a tribal.  amateurs being amateurs.

Well. I would just disagree with that. Some in San Antonio won't go to Mi Tierra because they think it is too touristy. Sure. there are always lots of tourists there and the prices are touristy but I have always believed that Mi  Tierra offers some of the best mexican food in San Antonio.

agreed.  is mi tierra great for out of towners?  hell yeah.   just like the riverwalk is, but its still badass for locals.  a feather in our cap.  i'm not a local anymore, but lived there for 11 yrs.

  15. ya'll are more confident than i, which makes me feel better.  however, i urge caution.  we cannot overlook them because we cannot afford another loss.  every team left on the schedule is capable of beating us, including the cougs.  they remind me of cu - all heart and no talent.

I’m legitimately curious why it’s universally viewed as outside the chili realm. The bacon? The ribeye? The celery? It’s, meat, onions, peppers, tomato purée, chili powder, and cumin at its bones..

Look at the color of your picture compared to anastasis'.   see what's missing?  it's the red.  i dont mind the bell peppers, but the celery and bacon were a tad off.  mainly it was inssufficient chili powder, imho.

They’ve inserted so much luck into the game that things like this don’t really matter as much as it used to, but Kaleb seems like one of the best players they’ve had in a long time.

not sure why you think this.  he was toast until emily saved him.  and completely clueless and naive about it.

CSB, I almost moved to SF for at least 16 months for my wife's clinical rotations. I was very much looking forward to wandering around the mountains and skiing while she was preoccupied with school. At the last minute, they decided they no longer wanted Greenspoint-style nursing students. We were instead sent to beautiful Decatur, Texas, where some friendly neighbors wrote racist shit on our cars and drextras.

So I can't speak much to NM (10,000 waves was still there and still awesome in 2019), but I would advise avoiding the Fort Worth exurbs.

10,000 waves is gone?  fuck me.

Ok.  Still, for me, it’s just as easy to throw in a half teaspoon of sugar in an OF glass and mix it with the bitters and a splash of water until it’s well blended. I’d have to experiment with unheated SS to get the sweetness just right for my taste.

i stand strongly against overly sweet also.   anytime a recipe calls for simple syrup i used hummingbird food.  its 1:4 sugar:water ratio as opposed to the 1:1 of simple syrup.  plus i already have a tupperware container constantly made up in my fridge anyway.
