LOL... that's funny. You know, I've noticed old people love to talk about their health problems and procedures. I've noticed it too much unfortunately. Don't get old
But, hilarious that someone would want to take a picture of that. We go downtown/South Congress a lot - I just like the vibe. We hear the funniest things from tourists when sitting on a front table at Guero's. I'm trying to figure out how some of these people haven't seen Tex-Mex before. Then again, I remember being in Southern California for two weeks my senior year in HS and this girl from Iowa would keep taking pictures of touching palm trees.
My buddy and I used to take his '64 Chevy C-10 down to Congress for the Lone Star Roundup Hot Rod show every year. He had a gun rack in the back window and he'd put a Daisy Red Rider in it for the car show.
Inevitably, every year, for like 7 years running, a group of foreigners would be walking down the sidewalk and shout "OMG...he has a shotgun right there in the window", which would be followed by how crazy America is.

Damn, the only way the most drought stricken areas can get any rain is when baseball sized hail is coming with it

The bigger problem on Lake Travis wasn't drunks falling out of bars, it was drunks falling out of boats and drowning.

Rain bomb has been part of the Shaggy/Surly lexicon for at least five years.
LCRA used the term "Rain Bomb" during the 2007 event over Marble Falls.
https://hydromet.lcra.org/Documents/2007_flood_report.pdf
QuoteThe rain event that began in the early hours of Wednesday, June 27 fell on wet soils and swollen lakes and streams causing heavy flooding in southern Burnet County. Rain totals over 19 inches were recorded near Marble Falls in the headwaters of Lake Marble Falls and Lake Travis. Estimated peak flow on Hamilton Creek was 56,000 cfs on June 27. Smaller streams north and south of the Colorado River also experienced high flows. By July 5, Lake Travis rose to a peak of 701.52 feet msl, its highest level since June 1997. Lake The mission of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is to provide reliable, low-cost utility and public services in partnership with our customers and communities and to use our leadership role and environmental authority to ensure the protection and constructive use of the area’s natural resources. Buchanan reached 1019.47 feet msl on July 7. This event produced approximately 1.0 million acre-feet of floodwater and ranked ninth in terms of volume produced for flood events since 1913. This event mainly affected the Highland Lakes region with only trace amounts of rain received in the lower basin. The rainfall experienced over the Hamilton Creek watershed was in excess of a 500year rainfall event for the area. This storm event will be remembered as the “rain bomb” that hit Marble Falls.

I got about an inch of rain this morning when the first line went through. Then got another 2 inches in the past two hours in the 78628.
Hello, soon to be neighbor. Moving to the 78628 in a few weeks.

Pouring in round rock. Trying to leave lunch but guess I’ll have to order another beer.
It's the only way to be safe. Turn around, don't drown.

1/2” rain and as a special bonus, it knocked out the last remaining oak pollen remnants lingering in the trees.

Did the construction really fuck the 360 / Westlake drive light? Did the city or TxDOT change that light cycle? My commute has added 10 minutes daily now in the last month. Seems like it's solid traffic SB in the afternoon from the bridge to Westlake Dr, when it used to only back up to the light just north of it.
The light at old spice wood springs and 360 has been ill timed since November. It basically rotates through every scenario in the rotation, every time, regardless if anyone is waiting in one of the directions. I had an hour long convo with a very helpful woman from txdot that leads the 360 construction project back in February and she was more than willing to help. The next day she told me that COA is actually responsible for all lights on 360. I put in a request to COA online. It was immediately marked as closed and nothing has happened in 3 months. Good luck.

The council firing Cronk was the big shitstorm that eclipsed all else.
Well, to be fair, the hiring of Cronk was an even bigger shitshow than the firing of Cronk.

If it hits anywhere near Houston, it won't come anywhere near Austin. They need to hit the Texas coast between Corpus and SPI to get to the Austin area.

Been 7-8 minutes of solid rolling thunder above my house near 360/2222. Like nonstop steady roll. Rain just started.

did you just burn my retinas because I looked at these photos?
You say this, but I can tell you that my MIL asked me last night, in all seriousness, if she needed to get some eclipse glasses to watch the event on TV?

20 miles which direction? For an epicenter less than 50 miles away that could make a pretty damn big difference.
She is at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island.
I admittedly do not know where the epicenter was.

Not if he’s still working on it and others are already in production.
Yes, because you have an example of one single other shirt in existence, that means his "hustle game is weak" because his is at the printer less than five hours after the event.
Eat a cock, fuckface.

Good for him! Shooters shoot.
Thanks. His day job is repping expensive men's italian clothing, so he has all of the clothing industry connections to get them done quickly. He is definitely a hustler.

It's funny how people can all experience the same event and how they report it.
My son was at work in Chelsea when it happened. He immediately texted me and said "Dad, in a about 30 minutes you are going to be inundated with news about the New York earthquake. Just know that it was nothing. I felt it for a few seconds and it was over. It was barely anything."
My GF's daughter lives 20 miles away (as the crow flies), and her report to her mom was "It shook so bad I almost fell out of my bed".

Ironic that the view of the capitol in this most recent photo is obstructed by buildings, yet there is a sign locating "Lady Bird Lake"* in the foreground.
* It will never be Lady Bird Lake. Ever.
