Pouring in round rock. Trying to leave lunch but guess I’ll have to order another beer.
It's the only way to be safe. Turn around, don't drown.

1/2” rain and as a special bonus, it knocked out the last remaining oak pollen remnants lingering in the trees.

Did he die?
Hopefully.
But really, who cares?
He won't be fighting any more either way.

Did the construction really fuck the 360 / Westlake drive light? Did the city or TxDOT change that light cycle? My commute has added 10 minutes daily now in the last month. Seems like it's solid traffic SB in the afternoon from the bridge to Westlake Dr, when it used to only back up to the light just north of it.
The light at old spice wood springs and 360 has been ill timed since November. It basically rotates through every scenario in the rotation, every time, regardless if anyone is waiting in one of the directions. I had an hour long convo with a very helpful woman from txdot that leads the 360 construction project back in February and she was more than willing to help. The next day she told me that COA is actually responsible for all lights on 360. I put in a request to COA online. It was immediately marked as closed and nothing has happened in 3 months. Good luck.

The council firing Cronk was the big shitstorm that eclipsed all else.
Well, to be fair, the hiring of Cronk was an even bigger shitshow than the firing of Cronk.

If it hits anywhere near Houston, it won't come anywhere near Austin. They need to hit the Texas coast between Corpus and SPI to get to the Austin area.

Been 7-8 minutes of solid rolling thunder above my house near 360/2222. Like nonstop steady roll. Rain just started.

did you just burn my retinas because I looked at these photos?
You say this, but I can tell you that my MIL asked me last night, in all seriousness, if she needed to get some eclipse glasses to watch the event on TV?

20 miles which direction? For an epicenter less than 50 miles away that could make a pretty damn big difference.
She is at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island.
I admittedly do not know where the epicenter was.

Not if he’s still working on it and others are already in production.
Yes, because you have an example of one single other shirt in existence, that means his "hustle game is weak" because his is at the printer less than five hours after the event.
Eat a cock, fuckface.

Good for him! Shooters shoot.
Thanks. His day job is repping expensive men's italian clothing, so he has all of the clothing industry connections to get them done quickly. He is definitely a hustler.

This is awesome. My son is actively working on a similar shirt as we speak.

It's funny how people can all experience the same event and how they report it.
My son was at work in Chelsea when it happened. He immediately texted me and said "Dad, in a about 30 minutes you are going to be inundated with news about the New York earthquake. Just know that it was nothing. I felt it for a few seconds and it was over. It was barely anything."
My GF's daughter lives 20 miles away (as the crow flies), and her report to her mom was "It shook so bad I almost fell out of my bed".

I am not going to cloak room this thread but there are ways to work that.

Why are we still pretending to be friends with China and doing business with them?

I assume that is to try and get all of the russians in crimea to move out faster, rather than just openly divulging war strategy.

Agreed. The housing here won’t be fixed. Ever. Waaay too much chicken fucking.
When we vote for things like Project Connect, we just make it more expensive but no one cares to understand that this increases both ownership and renting real estate. Pretty cool stuff to vote for. To make matters worse, they didn’t even have the accurate amount it would cost.
I can’t fathom putting together a package for a city of a million people and being a few billion off of the true number.
It wasn't that they were off by that much. They knew that they were underbudgeting so that the number would look better on a ballot.
Once it was approved by the voters, there is no repercussion to saying "whoops! sorry. we missed it by a few billion".

Meh...City Managers get fired all of the time. It's part of the job. It is usually because they have been made the scapegoat for something they had nothing to do with, or because there was Council turnover and the new council wanted to hire their own guy.
I'm not saying this is a good hire or that every CM that gets fired isn't for a good reason. I am simply saying that City Manager's get fired all of the time for a lot of reasons that don't necessarily mean they suck.

Might just be talking out of my ass here but maybe there’s a middle between backing cops that do heinous shit and getting rid of all police.
The post i quoted and responded to clearly stated that all cops are bad.

Yes they are.
A cop beat the fuck out of my father.
I've had a cop flat-out lie under oath in a case against me.
And all cops back them up. All of them. Always.
You're mistaking Garza at being bad at his job (actually doing a good job prosecuting cases) with those cops being innocent of wrongdoing. The fucking cops who killed Ambler killed Ambler. It was a bad killing. But the bottom line is, cops want to be able to do EXACTLY what those cops did, with ZERO accountability. Just medals and thank you's. Damned right they'd rather go work places like Mississippi, where their superiors cover for them when they shoot people in the fucking face in their own home. That. Is. The. Problem.
Let’s get rid of all of them then. Let’s just roll with no police and see what happens. Obviously they are serving no purpose at all right now. So we can save a few hundred million a year and all of Austin will be really happy to be rid of them.
