  1. My financial goal for 2025 was to hit $4M in liquid assets. If the market stays static from here until the end of the year, we should be cruising past that number by the early fall.
Looking towards the end of 2025:
    1. Increase my 401K contribution % to absolutely, positively make sure I reach the $31K. I probably don't need to, but getting there faster never hurts.
    2. Stop renovating the damn house. In the past 4 years, we've redone the kitchen, replaced the windows, and renovated the upstairs baths. Everything looks great, but it'll be great to stop writing checks as well.
    3. I need to set up auto transfers from savings to my brokerage account so it doesn't just sit there in cash. After our bonuses last month, we have a pile that's being lazy and needs be put to work.
The plan is still to keep working until my boy finishes college. With any luck, we should be in the 8-digit range by then.

You and I seem to be on similar paths.

  2. I just started sprint interval training a few weeks back, anyone else? I do it on a stationary bike. i'm becoming a fan as I don't have to do dedicated cardio for an hour, I do 8-10 thirty second sprints on a stationary then rest for a quick minute then back at it.  all in about 20-30 mins of intense cardio - max effort. works for my ADHD brain and it mimics the rhythm of a tennis match.

It’s part of my cycling training. I have the Nordic Track bike. Auto adjusts tension and changes incline. I use the IFit trainings that are on it for a lunch ride daily. Today was 10 - 2 minute intervals pushing 275 watts. It’s a GREAT way to train and is easy on the body.
  3. There are (were?) plans to build a gas power plant here in Sugar Land city limits, by the airport. I have been aware of petitions that have been going around, and the issue came up in the local mayoral and city council elections last month. The anointed candidate ended up losing the mayoral race to some current council member known locally as "Ms. No" who literally is against everything. I went along with the fervor even though I reflexively dislike NIMBYism and have been telling people I know that this is a problem at the state, and now federal level, and not a local issue.
But after this bullshit, turns out the NIMBYs were right all along, and a new strategy needs to emerge where the fight occurs at the local level. In my dream, it would also entail neighboring communities helping each other out to the point of encompassing the entire state.
People are waking the fuck up.

Where by the airport? Along 90 heading towards 99??
  4. It's like they found a racism/sexism cheat code, and are just going to hammer it for as long as they can. Non-white, non-male = Not deserving. White men however, are always deserving.

White, land owning males. Thats the only people that they want having any power / influence.
  5. The court ruling says a president can classify anyone he/she desires to no longer be citizens. Stephen Miller, if elected, would ban any Black or Hispanic. It's that bad of a ruling.

All non-white straight land owning males would no longer be citizens. They would be a new classification with limited rights (kiss voting good bye). Yall aren’t far enough on the dystopian ledge. These assholes can turn the US into a white Saudi Arabia. White men get everything - everyone else get bent and work for the rich white men.
