Right, I thought since we've all been talking about it for a year and a half now, that what we generally mean by "impeachment" is "impeachment and removal."

But the world needs pedants too I suppose.  Congratulations on your achievement.

I figured you meant "impeachment and removal" after I posted. My bad. I wasn't trying to be a pedantic ass.

The only non-violent means I see is impeachment or election.

Impeachment is not going to happen.  The chances of the Dems winning both the House and the Senate are unfavorable.

So I'm not sure how else you intervene but to work your ass off to change hearts and minds and get them out to the polls in 2018 and 2020.

Only the House impeaches. The Senate votes for removal.

Hitting his supporters in the pocketbooks is the only thing left to try since they have no use for facts.

The thing is, it doesn't seem to faze them. They'll go broke for their clown.

Kind of reminds me of our final versus Brazil in the Confederations Cup except Japan still played as hard as they could with a 2-0 lead while we played uninspired with one.

That's exactly the match that came to mind for me. But I think we had our 2-0 lead in the first half.

Can somebody tell me how I'm supposed to feel about last night as someone who would like to see MLS in Austin? I don't have the time to go read through a full meeting minutes to understand the different items up for discussion.

Something about 60 being bad until it was watered down, and now it's more palatable?

From what I can gather, we just kinda kicked things down the road another month and a half.

    Cliff's Notes?

The City Manager will begin negotiating with PSV (item 130) while also accepting other proposals for the site (item 60) at the same time. The City Manager will report back to Council on August 9th at which time Council can get an update on negotiations/other proposals, extend the time for negotiations or approve a contract with PSV. On the whole, it's positive for MLS to Austin supporters, especially with 60 being watered down (added language to include soccer stadium in the solicitation for proposals).

Uh, where is Mertens, Lukaku, and Eden in this lineup??

Lukaku was going to rest anyway, since he got banged up a little against Tunisia. It helps that the match is largely meaningless.

All the iceland games are...dont get the love for them

They get more out of their talent than anyone in the tournament, and it's because of the style of play. They can't play like Brazil and have admitted as such, because at the end of the day, they would just be a pretty bad version of Brazil.  For a country that has a total population less than half the size of Austin, it's pretty remarkable what they've done. That's where the love comes from.

Personally speaking, I'm partial to Iceland because I love their country and their people.

Hmm I live in D7. Is there a suggested message. Should I just call and say hi I wanted you know that this D7 resident is for the stadium at McKalla?

That'll do. Maybe add in an "enthusiastically" where you see fit.

Which of the proposed host cities have a stadium plan in the works (or potentially in the works)? Eight years is an eternity for American sports stadiums. Surely there will be some badass ones that will go unused because they weren't even an inkling of an idea when the host bids for cities went out.

The most obvious new stadium is Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park. You have to assume NYC for the final at MetLife and one of the semis at LA (either LA Stadium or Rose Bowl). I think Dallas and Atlanta will compete for the other semi.

IIRC everything is "a la carte" on those flights. How did it work for you?

I added the meal a la carte one way ($45) and did the snack bar the other way (spent $28). I didn't check a bag or select a seat (the other a la carte options).  I have a spacious travel duffel on wheels that fits everything I need for a week. It helps that the overhead areas in the Dreamliner are massive. All in, round trip was around $600.

And Norwegian enplaned 6,648 on 20 (I think) flights in April.  That means there were only 6,880 seats on that route--they had a 97% LF in April.

I took the Norwegian flight in May, and it was at capacity outbound to LGW but probably 2/3 full on the return. That route is a God send for an affordable option to London on a Dreamliner.

yikes, that first year at mike myers would be rough.  traffic.  the pitch ringed by a track.  at least the actual field is nice.

It holds 20,000, and they can sell beer. It's checks those two major boxes that no place else probably could.

even if approved by end june, can they get everything built by next spring??

No. They would play 2019 and probably 2020 in a temporary place - probably Mike Myers.

Did Kentucky make it in and I didn't know it? Nope. Only 10. ACC has 6 Big 12 has 5. You say it was too many but 7 of the 16 teams still alive kinda proves it's not. Especially since 2 of us won a regional we didn't host.

Did a 7th SEC team make it to the supers, and I didn't know it?
