  1. i do it for all our players. and for the 4 or 5 people here that actually want to discuss players, i'm happy to do it. otherwise 20 pages of posting screengrabs from 55 year old texags morons seems a bit redundant.
  2. he loves to recruit those guys, they just all end up at alabama.
  3. i fear that's gonna hurt his ranking in the industry composite.
  4. they upgraded with two guys we thought we had a shot at in banks and carter. he's probably a safety/corner tweener, and we have plenty of those already.
  5. this is gonna get awkward with shepherd is an all-america at georgia.
  6. if this is an honest question, the answers are not really, yes, and i think we'll be ok. linebackers - really shaky. anthony hines is more pedigree than anything at this point, but we have to hope he's a contributor. i like buddy johnson, but not sure he's a guy that can play consistently if he's not in space. one of ke'shun brown and andre white are going to have to be ready to go (probably white) and you pray somebody (hansford, kiante mccoy, grad transfer) rises up to take some snaps. dline - has a chance to be really good by mid-season, needs to get there early. i think bobby brown moves to dt because leal will be better day 1, and between him, diallo, madubuike, and jayden peevy we'll be just fine, even if derick hunter (who i love) and adarious jones take a while to get ready. the weak spot is a guy that can bring pressure, but hoping someone between tyree johnson, clemons, or leal can provide that. max wright also should be back to full health and i'm curious if he gives 10-15 good snaps a game. at corner, not sure how it can be worse - always dangerous to hope too much on a juco, but elijah blades' film is awesome, and another year in the system should give us some more options at the boundary corner. (renfro, elam, fuller and chattman all have their good and bad - i fear oliver is broken forever). we also should get better safety play year 2 - elko demands a ton, and i wouldn't be surprised if brian williams ends up playing a lot of snaps at some point. i said on here earlier i think we're a top 25 s&p+ defense next year (after 36 this year) - nothing spectacular, but if the linebackers hold up (big if) we should be ok.
  7. no, i think you're correct, every guy we're losing was "critically important with a huge dropoff in talent behind them" and texas will "easily reload with quality talent."
  8. i think ezra's post said something along the lines of "three 2-song drops every month until the record is out" which I believe start next week . . .
  9. am i the only one truly excited for the vampire weekend double album, or am i setting myself up for massive disappointment?
  10. supposedly a really good kid. needs to go somewhere that he can flex out some as i'm just not sure he's got the frame to be an in-line tight end.
  11. primarily a combination of sordid american history and socioeconomics.
  12. i think spiller is one of those guys who went from being overrated to underrated pretty quickly. not sure he's a franchise guy, but really liked the limited tape i've seen of his senior year. i think he can help next year, part of which is the lack of guys other than corbin with his skill set.
  13. we're recruiting him at lb. dude has a pretty big frame. not nearly the size / speed combo of christian harris, but wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize.
  14. we're all pretty pissed at jimbo for the #3 overall class. hard to find a single guy in there worthy of a power 5 scholarship imo.
  15. pine valley is the only acceptable reason to step foot inside the state.
  16. that company sold my friend. and leon will be interesting. his highlights are fun, but not sure where he fits in the scheme going forward.
  17. i'm always spot on. unless i've been drinking in charleston for 3 straight days after personally watching kenny hill throw for over 500 yards. then, i would definitely take the opposite side of whatever opinion is being offered.
  18. there are some holes to fill, but i believe in elko and some of the options he has at those spots. i fell hard for tim deruyter (who is currently kicking ass at cal) and i'm trying to keep myself from doing the same with elko, but the guy's pretty damn solid.
  19. this . . this is actually more or less correct. mack was also quietly pretty awesome this year. pre-bowl we're 42nd in defensive s+p (which has its issues, but is as good as anything else from an overall metric standpoint) coming off a sweet 71st ranking in chavis' final year. i'm guessing we're top 30 in overall s+p next year. please feel free to bookmark and bring up repeatedly when clemson puts up 60 on us next september.
