  1. This sounds awesome. So what are the other details? Is it you and your dad, anyone else coming along? Do you plan on stopping along the way for any significant amount of time, or just really stopping for a night and a meal or two? Are you driving the rental car the whole way? If so, what are you thinking of renting? For such a long drive, that is important. Also, I hope you plan on posting as you go or at least a recap afterwards. Vicarious living and all.

    This.

Also going to the store on the golf cart, I've got mine where it will run right at 35 mph. The look on the faces of the other old farts when you blast past them at almost twice their speed. They have the high speed gears, but still have a governor.

Consider me jealous. In my town, I can only cross a road with a speed limit greater than 25mph, I can't drive down it without making the cart fully street legal. That said, I have found a back way that crosses through a few neighborhoods and down a short stretch of sidewalk that gets me to Kroger. It takes a hell of a lot longer, but on a nice day, its an awesome way to go pick up something to cook for dinner

  3. Last pair of my shit kickers were Double H, which I had for 5 years until they fell apart. I wear them 2-3 days a week. 6 months ago, I went with Ariat, and I fucking hate them. I keep waiting for them to break in, but after 6 months, my right foot still hurts after a full day of wear. Eventually I will give up and get something else, but it just sucks pissing away money.  They do look great though, for what its worth.

  4. I used Turo to rent a fun car while in Carmel a few months ago. The car was 5 years old but in great shape and cheaper than the traditional rental company counter. I also had an issue where I got a flat while driving it. I was able to keep it aired up enough to return to the owner, who took it to the dealership, who claimed I cracked a rim on the car. I disputed it saying there was no way to tell if it was me that caused the damage and I didn’t drive it in any out of the ordinary situation. A Turo “adjuster” stepped in immediately and determined I wasn’t liable for anything within 48 hours or so. I would use them again, but I did drive this car a hell of a lot more carefully than a traditional rental. It was also a much more fun car. Couldn’t find a convertible Porsche from any of the traditional rental fleets for that time period I was there.

The only toilet paper sold in stores is quadruple roll which doesn't fit on the fucking dispenser. The people that decided this shit is a good idea should be forced to wipe with 36 grit sandpaper for the rest of their lives.

Don't know what kind of 1970's dispenser you have, but you sound poor

  6. I sang in an a cappella group in law school. Female-company-wise, there are great merits to the exercise.

Also belongs in this thread, maybe. While I didn’t sing in an a capella group, I sang in 5 or 6 musicals in high school and won 2 state titles in baritone solo. Always wish I would have tried to do something with it, but now I’m a Controller at a sports technology company. Waiting for the crooner movement to come and then I’ll make my move.
  7. Was in Austin this weekend because my wife got us tickets to the Basketball game for Christmas, just the two of us. I come down a few times a year for football games, but haven’t brought my wife in a few years because she usually stays home with our daughter and the boy comes with me.

All that to say, we haven’t looked for a nice dinner in Austin in a while, and decided to go to Garrison Grill. Despite being inside a hotel, and downtown being a complete cluster fuck for the marathon (poor timing on our part), holy fuck what a great meal that was. Honestly one of the top 5 meals we’ve ever had, and we’ve been to most of the top spots around DFW and a handful around San Jose/Monterey area.

Sourdough bread with avocado spread was absolutely “I want to mainline this” amazing, grilled octopus was good, but the mole with it was delicious, steaks were perfect...seriously perfect, and was such a great pair with the bitter/hot shishito peppers, tator tots were awesome although I would have liked a cheese with a bit more substance/body than the gruyere. Top it off with a great chocolate soufflé, fuck yes. If you haven’t been, put it on your short list.

  8. At lunch I drove through a car wash and parked in my normal spot back at the office. Just had to go get something out of my truck, and fucking maintenance crew had been testing the sprinkler system, leaving me with water spots all over. I know they are doing their job, but fuck man, now I’m going to have to spray it off and dry it again when I get home.

Typically the sprinklers run before I get to the office.

  9. Ok, back to Club Champion. Finished my fitting, and am getting ready to order a set of P790s. CC tells me that manufacturers really suck at putting clubs together, so when they get them, they tear them down, and rebuild them exactly to the specs I was fitted for. My question is, do manufacturers truly suck at putting clubs together or is CC just trying to upsell me??

Between the discount I get at my Club, and the cost CC is going to charge to rebuild each iron, I could get them for $50 cheaper per iron from my Club. CC also suggests getting them pured, which would add another $30 per stick.

    Klipsch.............either way

Good brand, but they vary widely. Unless the in-walls have a built in enclosure, you are going to get much better sound (especially for the money) from free-standing speakers. I've got a Klipsch setup myself, and am very happy with them. For my rears and sides though, I went with on-wall speakers.

    sorry for the derail.

Motherfuckers that will not turn right on a red at an intersection.

Motherfuckers that don't turn into their lane. The road both sides are turning onto is a 4 lane road, there is plenty of room for both sides to be turning at the same time, yet your stupid ass sits there until the other side is empty, causing all of us to miss the light and have to sit there another 5 fucking minutes for the next cycle

  12. My question will be much more simple, but it has me stumped. I've got a tab with accounts numbers down the left column, unique identifiers across the columns that I want to pull data from a separate data dump tab, without manipulating that data dump tab too much. At first I thought an INDEX formula, but the data dump tab is all in rows, meaning the account number and the unique identifier are both in the same row, and the data I want to pull is also in the same row. This is what I tried and it didn't work, I presume because my IF formula refers to an entire column.

    =IF(D$7='Data Dump Tab'!E:E,VLOOKUP(Main Tabi!$B102,'Data Dump Tab'!L:V,11,FALSE),0)

where D7 is the unique identifier on the main tab

Column E on the Data Dump tab is the unique identifier

B102 is the account number on the main tab, and the rest of the VLOOKUP is normal.

    Any brilliant ideas?

Way up north houses are built with separate water shutoffs for exterior faucets so they can winterize and drain water from the exterior lines, or spigots with recessed valves so the water stops well within the wall.

Helpful, thanks. I'm not gonna retro-fit or anything, but will keep that in mind if.... and believe me, its a big if hqdefault.jpg I ever build another house, I will be sure to add that feature
