  1. Bama - Go with the Bevo model, that is pretty bad ass, and is now on my list.

I've got a 34" Scotty that the grip is worn out on.  I'm going to put one of those Golf Pride Snsr pistol grips on it, but also thought I would take this opportunity to cut it down an inch, since I typically grip it at the very bottom of the current grip.  Will doing that fuck with the weighting of the putter too much?  I've looked around on golf boards, and comments seem mixed.  Some say, no problem at all, some say send it off the Custom shop to get it done.  Screw that.  This putter is probably 5+ years old, and not sentimental to me.

I trust you guys more than the guys on some of those golf boards, so has anyone done this?  Any thoughts on doing this?  I'm thinking I just do it, and then if it feels off, buy some off brand 20 gram weights online, since I think that is what comes stock in the 33" putters.

  2. Love me some restaurant nachos, but some of my favorites are ones I make myself.

Fajita bacon and Nicks Boudin naoch from the old site

  3. Went to Tender Smokehouse in Celina last Wednesday. Ribs had an odd sweet taste to them I didn’t care for, but the brisket and sausage were pretty fucking great. Great outdoor patio for the kids too. This may become my regular place for times I don’t want to drive too far for good brisket.

On the rare occasions she is up before I leave for work, we can both be in the bathroom/closet getting ready for 15 minutes straight without a word being spoken.  As soon as I say "ok, see  you later" I get a thousand questions she could has asked as I was getting ready.

    You working out after work?
Where are you going to lunch?
    Who are you going with?
Do you have that meeting today?
What do you want to do this weekend?
What time will you be home?

Yesterday, as I'm putting on my shoes, 2 minutes from leaving, I got "hey, can you blow up that new gigantic flamingo pool float we got for 'lil JSB before you leave?  She is having her dance class come over to swim today".

We spent like 2 hours the night before watching Santa Clarita Diet together, but it didn't happen to occur to her then.

She has also perfected the art of beginning to speak to me just as I'm far enough away to still hear that she is saying something, but not close enough to make out what it is.  Drives me insane

This doesn’t have the volume, but it does have a certain je ne sais quoi:

"Fine Grandma, if you refuse to believe the logical answer that you misplaced a few things, and insist the nurses are stealing from you, we can move you, but I'm only making one trip, everything else is getting thrown out"

  6. Actual Father's day, my kids will be spending the week with my parents, so probably play golf, watch the US Open, cook some steaks or something for me and the wife, and probably some sex in there somewhere, we will see how it all pans out.

Kids will do their 'make dad breakfast and give him something we made him' thing the weekend before or after

Holy shit. This is a real problem for me. If somebody comes to my shop to bullshit and have a few beers they leave with a knife.

And where might this shop be?

  8. Said it before, and I'll say it again, I bought mine a few years ago because of this thread, and will never ever not have one in my house again.  I've shifted my entire shit schedule around to maximize the number of shits I am able to take at home vs. the office

  9. No clue what my first concert was with parents, but I was little.  The first show I went to sans parents (god I hate to admit this) was Alanis Morissette at South Park Meadows when I was 13.  I bought tickets for my girlfriend and me for her birthday, then we broke up but the ex still wanted to go to the show.  By the time the show came around, I had another girl that wanted to go with me, so I took them both.

First show I drove myself to was OzFest in San Antonio a few years later

  10. I keep my hitch on my truck all the time because I only use it for ranch stuff, towing stuff, and hauling stuff. You know stuff that a truck should actually be used for, unlike aggy who has a truck with a hitch just to have a place to put his SEC stickers.

I saw a truck the other day with a three ball hitch that was painted to match the truck. Obviously never used and even worse, ornamental. Who buys a three ball, and then pays to paint it for something that you will never use lest you scratch up that nice paint job?

Pic didn’t come out great, but wtf

I really loved that car but ended up selling it when I had a chance to get into a C2 - my current '64 Corvette.

That is damn fine.  Do you have the 64 vette and the land rover?

In high school, I bought a 1988 Range Rover for cheap that I loved.  I sold it in college to get a '96 dodge ram, which I regret.   The ram was fine, but I miss that rover

And no matter how hard I try, I can’t salt them the right way like a good fast food place that does salt them correctly.

The trick is to salt them as soon as they're out of the fryer, can't do it right after they've been sitting for a few minutes

  13. I'm in Dallas, and spent 4 years at EY before moving on.  It was hard work, but I learned a ton, and it opened a lot of doors for me.  Now that I'm in more of a management role, one of the qualifications I look for when going through resumes is Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting experience.  To me, it is a good indicator of someone that is willing to work hard when appropriate, and is a quick learner.  That said, I've interviewed a lot of dumb fucks with Big 4 experience, and hired some really bright people with no public accounting experience.

I would suggest it if for no other reason than very few have ever been eliminated from a position because they have Big 4 experience, but plenty have been because they did not have Big 4.  Unfortunately I do know quite a few people that won't consider someone without Big 4 experience for certain types of roles.

Over on TexasBowHunter ive read of guys getting 65K on Nitto's Grappler. Kinda wanting to see if anyone else runs those

Too late, but I've got a set of NItto Ridge Grapplers that I love.  Good traction, quiet for an AT... we will see what kind of mileage I get, but so far, so good.  I've only got about 13K miles on them now.

  15. Just gave my first pair of ExOf mesh sports a wear, and those are the leader in the clubhouse for me.  Just not sure they are worth $25-$30 a piece.  The Champion cool ones from Target are second.  Pair of Thieves suck shit through a straw in my opinion
