  1. Here's a split second later in the video. After Quinn releases it, Bond accelerates away from the CB and has at least two steps on him and is running away from him I think it was the right read and the space was there, just needed less float on it.
  2. Yeah that seems like a feature, not a bug, of a Sark offense. Maybe he'll evolve little by little and incorporate some of that, but if I remember correctly, when he was hired, one of his big priorities was getting guys the ball in space and on the run. I think he even specifically said something about not wanting guys to be stationary when they got the ball. I know there's plenty of Quinn haters on this thread that say "hE hAS nO NFL fuTuRe!!!!" I'd like to remind everyone that Spencer fucking Rattler has thrown for over 1,000 yards in the NFL this season and Skylar Thompson has over 100 career completions. Making an NFL roster is not that hard of a bar to clear for a QB with experience and a willingness to study and improve. Will he ever win a super bowl or be an All-Pro? Eh, who the hell knows. But he's got the tools to be on a roster and get playing time for several years.
  3. I think that's expecting a lot of a safety who is already moving forward to, in a split second, stop, reaccelerate backwards, and close that window, especially when that's not his responsibility. Quinn's eyes are telling him one thing here as soon as that safety starts moving forward: "Safety vacated middle of field, GO NOW!" I agree though on the sight adjustments. From everything I've watched on Sark's offense though, he loves to let his playmakers "run to grass" especially on over routes. We've seen it time and time again. In a different zone look, Golden is running to grass. I'm starting to think that he doesn't ask the WRs to make that post-snap read and adjustment. The only player he asks of that or that I've at least seen do that is Gunnar.
  4. I disagree. I'm guessing there's a pre-snap trigger to determine the read. If Quinn thinks it's Cover-2 or Quarters, safety is probably the read. If it's a cover-3 look or a Man look, then yeah, linebacker is probably the first read. If he's reading the safety, hitting Golden as he clears the first line backer gets him lit up the way Taafe lit up their guy at the end. Granted, yes, it's probably a completion, but if the first read is play side safety, you're not going to throw it to the guy he is moving towards unless it is a "must get a first down" situation. When Quinn throws this ball, the backside DB is on the numbers. With the air that he put under it, the backside DB still only arrives AFTER the ball gets picked. Put less air on it and throw it towards the fat post, not towards the upright, Bond has at least 2 steps after the catch before the backside DB gets there.
  5. Not sure if this was covered yet, but the skycam view showed Quinn reading the play side safety. He made the right read and then made a terrible throw. The safety take a step forward to close in on the Golden over. As soon as that safety moves forward in Golden's directly, Quinn lets it rip to Bond coming over the top on the post. If he puts less air on that, it's a touchdown. Eyes on the safety Safety moves up Quinn pulls the trigger
  6. Committed.... But not yet signed? What are the chances he doesn't sign anything until WSU does or doesn't hire Arbuckle?
  7. For Navy people, addressing someone as "shipmate" gets an immediate wtf
  8. I wonder if Bo Davis did his exit interview, cause then I'm not surprised at all and wonder if Swanson left a few cuss words out lol
  9. The problem I see is that they went out and bought a bunch of teenagers. Sure, very talented teenagers, but teenagers. To me, that says we're setting you up for success in 3-4 years, not necessarily right now. That was a conscious decision by management, I assume with the foresight that it was going to cause some growing pains. Do they have the stomach to make it through the growing pains and stick with Ange? Today certainly made it easier
  10. Marshall just pulled out of the bowl game against Army. Too many opt outs and transfers
  11. Go Navy beat Army!! 12 years and counting in the Navy (plus a tour with the Marines) and still going strong.
  12. Seeing that brisket is what makes me think that the lightsaber actually has already been secretly invented.
  13. Well more specifically, he was seemingly speaking out against ownership. Made it clear that he and the team love playing for Ange, love the style of football he wants them to play, and that they've been decimated by injuries this year.
  14. Lebby was was the OC that recruited him to OU, so maybe he feels like that would be a good QB battle? Or maybe this info is from the player's side and he wants to go to Miss St to reunite with an offense that he has experience in?
  15. Pretty sure it's just a typo this time, not slang. He meant to type "it didn't matter if we were in the (instead of free) SEC" Also I'm pretty sure his "Amtway" was supposed to be "Anyway"
  16. Happens in the NFL from time to time. Division opponents play twice and if they both make the playoffs, then they might play a third time. And guess what? Whoever wins the playoff game moves on and nobody questions it, even if they lost the first two. Also, if Texas gets left out in your scenario for losing to a playoff team twice, who gets their spot? Miami, who has lost to 2 non playoff teams? Fuck that.
  17. Honestly dude, I don't disagree with some of your thoughts. Maybe they did organize an autograph session later and backdate contracts and try to (illegally) legalize it later on. Maybe, I doubt it, but maybe. But it's trying to give credit to A&M for being innovative and for doing something that they didn't do that I and I assume many people here disagree with. Many many people here (not me, I just pay the minimum into Burnt Ends and TOF because that's all I can at this time) worked very very hard and very long to be innovative and groundbreaking and to get Texas One Fund legally off the ground and for it to be the first of it's kind. The reason so many people are coming at you is because saying we were "months late" compared to A&M and then doubling down is insulting and a slap in the face to the many hard-working Longhorns (some of whom are members of this Surly community) who made Texas One Fund the first of it's kind. I'm not trying to say that you don't respect or don't appreciate their work (obviously you're here as a Longhorn fan and contribute to discussions here), but to say they were months late when they were actually among the first ones in the entire country to successfully launch a plan to adapt to the NIL environment is insulting to the hard work they put in to make sure that everything we did followed every rule, back and front, iron clad.
  18. Sorry everybody, but I guess I'll try one more time. The simplest difference between UTs legal NIL efforts through Texas One Fund and aggy's non NIL pay for play is contracts. The reason why it took until November for Texas One Fund to get released is that it takes a long time for something that massive to get pitched, organized, funded, vetted through lawyers to ensure it met State law, vetted through compliance to ensure it met NCAA rules, get launched, get basic contracts written up, get those vetted, and then get them signed. A&M said, "Nah, fuck all that". UTs Texas One Fund was not "months late". It was actually what you are trying to argue about A&M.... Texas One Fund was the earliest and first of it's kind. It was not "months late" compared to anyone or any other NIL initiative, certainly not A&M. So yes, I will argue the notion that "A&M's disorganized booster led NIL was not really NIL". Because unless they started organizing a year before NIL was announced, there is no way they went through the proper steps in time to ensure it was legal. Texas athletes signed legal contracts in relation to their NIL, reported that income, paid taxes on that income, etc. I would be confident in stating that A&M athletes in the 2022 class did not sign contracts for those payments, did not report it, did not pay taxes on it, etc. As mentioned above, if everything was on the up and up and it was legal because "that's what the Texas lege lazyly allowed", then why would Jimbo publicly and vehemently deny that it was NIL? If it was legal, it would've been in his best interest to say "Yup! We have the best and earliest NIL and it's all vetted and legal! Come get paid at A&M!" But he had to lie about it because it was not vetted and legal. And therefore it was not legal NIL. And A&M was certainly not first in the NIL race.
  19. No one here is contending that A&M paid that class a shit ton of money. Here's the part that people are arguing : The Aggies were not, in fact, in on NIL months faster. NIL = endorsements. NIL = conditions that must be met to get paid (be in this commercial, do this interview, show up at this charity, tweet about my product, etc). That A&M class had none of these. It was straight up, unconditional, "I'm going to pay your uncle to get you here", cash. NIL is organized, vetted, within the rules, and above board. Aggy cash that year was under the table, hidden, lied about, and unconditional. It was not any sort of organized NIL attempt. As to why their next class cratered in comparison, you are partially right: everybody's else NIL efforts quickly surpassed and dwarfed what aggy was trying to do. However it's your assertion that we passed their early NIL efforts that is wrong. They didn't have any early NIL efforts. They had an under the table, outside the rules, non -NIL payment system. Everybody else's legitimately organized NIL efforts quickly passed aggy's under the table bullshit, and their recruiting started to tank as a result.
  20. Didn't see this posted anywhere. NSIAP. Slow mo replay of Arch's TD with a little epic music to it. Really reminds me of one of the old NFL Films type of highlights. The way he stares down the aggy before he trucks him is ice cold.
  21. Hadn't seen this yet, but NSIAP. Epic.
  22. It's not that difficult of a concept to understand. We lost the Austin area to Georgia. When we played Florida, we had already lost Austin, but had moved on to gain other territories. Georgia lost it to Ole Miss, who lost it to Florida. It's like racing for pink slips. I might beat you and take your car from you, but if I lose my car to someone else... Well you might end up with my car anyway if you beat that person.
  23. Today's game was shown at both COSM LA and Dallas
