my brother in law has a 2006 F430 that he bought new back in the day. Gosh I love that car. The sound that V8 makes is just pure awesome. He never drives the thing, and has had it in offsite storage for probably 10 years now. I bet it has < 3,000 miles on it. Shame. I'd drive that thing daily. you only live once.
I'll never understand why people buy cars like that and don't drive them. I don't want to own any car I can't just go drive whenever I want to.

and you'd be crazy to get that Merc in any color other than Green or the Blue. That car demands a vibrant color.
Yep. Hulk green might be the only acceptable color on that car.

I honestly forgot about the AMG GT-R.Can't believe you guys thought ChiTown would be caught dead in a Nissan. -

The small batch select is a steal
I have been looking for it since it came out. Have never seen it anywhere up here.

Maybe it’s kind of an intelligence test for our shaggy, err...surly brethren.
How many of those of you that enjoyed it watched it sober?
I enjoyed it for mindless entertainment. It was definitely stupid.
Plot spoiler
SpoilerAnd the plot feels awfully lame. Some Senator and the Venezuelan dictator wanted to make money illegally mining Tantalum in Venezuela? Just feels weak. Not every plot has to be a terrorist attack that gets thwarted, but I expected something more meaningful than that.

It's a joke. Corvettes, especially Z06s are known to overheat on the track. So i referred to the GT-R as the GT-R Z06. But now that i have to explain it to you, it's a lot less clever.I assumed when I was discussing the heat soaked turbos, that one would assume I was talking about the Nissan. Sorry not to specify the manufacturer.

Sandwich is always hot and the chicken is always crispy. What's the problem again?Yep. Make all the sandwiches before they open and let them steam in a bag for hours before they serve them. -
I was referring to heat soak issues on the track. No, Nissan. My bad.

I forget the exact odds, but between going to 6:5 on blackjack and hitting soft 17, the house edge on blackjack has gone from roughly 0.5% if you play perfect basic strategy to somewhere around 4.0%. In other words, it's no more beatable than a slot machine. Like Lurch, I quit playing blackjack when they made these changes. And that sucks because blackjack can be really fun.

Yeah well, you can get through like CFA line in about 10 minutes. It takes 10 minutes to move up one car length at Popeyes - on a good day. If you're the first car in line.
CFA has truly perfected the drive through. Like you said, I can get through a 20 car deep line in roughly 10 minutes.

Spoiler from the finale...
SpoilerSo the one part that made me chuckle out loud is in the finale when they are in the Presidential Palace and the CIA Station Chief guy looks at Ryan and says very seriously "Don't go after Reyes, we're not cleared for that", as if they would be cleared to fly a military chopper to the palace and mow down 30 of his soldiers. But don't go after Reyes...

CHIEF Jr. drove a GTR at the track, here in Cresson. I love them, but he said it was a dog on the track, the turbos are real susceptible to heat soak, he was about the third person to run hot laps in it that afternoon.

I had it before the hype train and it was good but nowhere near as good as "The Larry Bird" and I can go pick one of those up with no wait.
Tell me more about this Larry Bird.

Gosh. What are the odds of that happening? You'd almost have to plan it.
If the shortages are on purpose, they are the dumbest company on the planet. Not selling sandwiches is not good for your EPS.

And so it begins again.Stopped by the Sherman location this afternoon-out of sandwiches. -
Rosarios for me.In San Antonio just for one day. Original Blanco Cafe or Rosarios? -
Sprinter is the way to go. More space, more customizable, more below the radar. And you can put a TV in it.Yep - that’s why I never really considered the Maybach car (Vs SUV). Looks wise you are spot on. Just people see the Rolls name and lose their mind. A Mercedes is just a Mercedes to most people, unless you’re a car person you’d never guess the S63 can run over 200k.
Seeing some of these sprinter configurations though -
Why not do a Sprinter and deck it out?Actually check out the pics of the SUV. It’s not that wild on the outside.

I started shopping for a shell jacket. As usual, things are not made to fit a...well fed gentleman. Want waterproof gorged type outside and small removable liner inner. For inbounds skiing so far, but if it lasts I may try some back country stuff in the future
What company and/or style do you guys wear and would recommend, and which online stores?
I just tried on a north face 2xl and I want more room in the belly area, but nowhere will stock a 3x and the sites I’ve shopped don’t even have it as an option.
$300ish price range
I just picked up a Helly Hansen Alpha 3.0 jacket that I really like. Much less bulky than the North Face it is replacing. I hate how most ski jackets fit because I'm also a bigger guy in the shoulders (and stomach - I'm 6'2" and 250#) and it seems most outdoor gear is made for skinny 20 year olds. The HH 2X fits me really nicely. MSRP is $450 but Epic Mountain Gear sells them for 20% off so it was $360.
The only brands I've found that will work is Helly Hansen, North Face and Mountain Hardware. All the other ones are just too tight in the shoulders and stomach, even in XL or 2X.

He doesn't own it anymore. The bank does. That's not your fault.Well, now I'm a creeper and an ass.
Did a little digging -- the previous owner has pretty much gone into a spiral since his wife died (in the house, naturally, which would please my ghost-obsessed wife) two years ago. He's apparently just not held himself together very well since then.
So, am I a vampire for wanting to profit from his misfortune? Or am I just lucky that his misfortune happens to coincide so well with my needs?
I never should have taken that damned ethics class.

Shit, even if I had something like an F40 or Porsche 918 Spyder in the garage, I would have to drive it. Cars are meant to be driven, not just looked at.
