Mine must be a dud. I have to fire from point blank (like 3-6") to even disorient a common housefly. It's boring as shit and nearly as useless. Give me an Airsoft any day.

Mine is the same.  I don't even use it anymore.  Killed probably 15 flies the old fashioned way yesterday.

  2. Didn't get any pics, but I did pork chops last night and they were the best damn pork chops I've ever eaten.  Just amazingly tender and moist.  1 hour at 140* and then sear them off in cast iron.  I don't think I'll ever want to cook them any other way.

    fuck social media.

dipshit stay at home moms are adhering to the bullshit advice of their equally stupid facebook friends and not listening to doctors and years of proven practice.

Don't blame this shit on home schoolers.  We home school and my kids have gotten all of their vaccinations.  Anti-vaxxers are just fucking idiots.

I have 2 dogs, Abbey is 55 pounds, and Bells is a 6 month old Eng.Bulldog/Labrador mix and weighs 48 pounds already.  I expect her to be close to 70 or 80 pounds when she's filled out.

Living conditions will be determined on whether or not they can stay there.

You should be good, then.  Most apartments out here are dog friendly, but most will prohibit dogs over 80#.  So just say she is 65-70 and you'll be good.  They don't get out scales or anything.

If you are willing to go the apartment route (especially if you're willing to get a 1BR) , you'll have a lot more options in your budget.  Based on your criteria, I'd look to be somewhere in Riverfront park.  I think it's the best downtown area for dogs as there is a big park right there where you can walk them.  And it's right in the big middle of everything.  Another option would be Wash Park.  A little bit away from downtown but still walkable to lots of restaurants, and again, a big park right at your door.  Golden is a great choice for getting away from downtown, but food choices are much more limited, Morrison even moreso.  Gets you closer to the mountains, though.

They have been living in isolated countries and have just started getting out and seeing the world the last two decades, and are just starting to travel to nature destinations in numbers the last few years. Once people see the finite nature of the world, conservation usually takes better hold. As the world communities continue to bash Asian black markets for animal products, and more Chinese get out, I think things will improve.

I hope you're right, but after seeing how they behaved in Yellowstone when I was there last fall, I don't have a lot of hope.

Purportedly, more people believe in Traditional Chinese Medicine than believe in The Bible. Cultures evolve over time, I'm optimistic that things will get better. A hundred years ago, we were in a similar place:

"Here in the United States we turn our rivers and streams into sewers and dumping-grounds, we pollute the air, we destroy forests, and exterminate fishes, birds and mammals -- not to speak of vulgarizing charming landscapes with hideous advertisements. But at last it looks as if our people were awakening." -Theodore Roosevelt

Their cultures are a lot older than ours is.  And they don't seem to be waking up to conservation.

I was at Cosmo 2 weeks ago and they had $25 3/2 tables even during busy times.  Some were even in the same pit as $25 6/5 tables and it was amazing to see how many people would play 6/5 when there were available seats at 3/2 in the same fucking pit for the same min.

And that is the reason they went to 6/5.  Gave the house better odds and your average gambler never even knew it happened.

With just the change from 3:2 to 6:5, the house odds increase by 4x (from .5% to 2%).

Ah, renting is a lot more affordable up there, especially if you do an apartment instead of a house.  My daughter (me) pays $1700 for a 3BR apt in Golden -- it's not nice/new, but it's not bad at all.  3-BR houses in that area are more like $2400 minimum.

The hard part with an apartment depends on how big a big dog is in Doc's case.  Zeus would not be allowed at most apartments, even those that allow dogs.

Not going to find a whole lot in that range if you are looking to rent a house.  Park Hill would probably give you the most options.

Sunnyside might be an option as well.  That neighborhood is really changing fast.  Not gonna sniff renting a house for $2k in any of the more desirable areas.

End of the year and no later than March, I'll be moving to the Denver area. I work 100% remote and can live anywhere.

For those that know the area, what parts should I focus my attention on for living?  Must be large dog friendly, would enjoy a social scene, grocery store close by, and a bar I can walk too. Ideally, I'd want something "affordable."  Not looking at downtown and not looking for child rearing suburbs.

    Gracias in advance.

What is your budget?  Denver as a whole is not really all that affordable anymore.

  11. What the fuck is wrong with Asians and how they treat the natural world around them?  They singlehandedly keep the ivory trade going as well as poaching of tigers, rhinos, sea turtles, etc. because of supposed medicinal benefits of ingesting these things.  A Mexican dolphin is about to go extinct because the Chinese will pay $10,000 for the swim bladder of a fish that lives in the same area as the dolphin, so poachers use gill nets and kill dolphins.  The Japanese would pull every last bluefin tuna out of the oceans if they could.  I don't get it.  It's like conservation is a foreign concept to them.

  12. I am born and raised in Texas and I love my state.  We do a lot of things really well (BBQ, Mex food, seafood, football (well, we used to), etc.).  But state pride just isn't enough to drink bad whiskey or wine.  I haven't had any Texas whiskey or wine that's been worth the price.   It's for the wine thread, but Texas wine is way worse than Texas whiskey.
I feel the same about CO whiskeys. Not worth the$.
