HSB is a bit out there, and to be courted by the University, I just don't believe they'd choose that venue. They'd accommodate him at the University AT&T venue across from Moncrief, unless that's been vacated. Campus has been practically closed for a month. Play at ACC or UTGC, simple.
Holy shit, it's fucking bizarre to remind myself of the riches this University has to lure any BSD down to Austin... and we got a narcissist for $32M+, WTF.
You go to HSB instead of campus to keep away from the media. Seriously, isn't that obvious?

Are you literally only in this thread to bag on fast food and make people feel bad about eating it? It's seriously the 4th or 5th hot take I've read from you about the perils of hamburgers and now Mexican pizzas.
Some people's world is so small that they can't help but focus and obsess on one little thing, spending days on end thinking of nothing else.
Wait...

Oh I don’t. Even if this thread is about nothing it’s more entertaining than the last decade of football. And it’s a hell of a lot better than what the 9.95’ers are spewing. With some notable exceptions.
All these “insiders” are hedging now. Lots of “not sures.” Which is outstanding. Let’s me know we aren’t gonna goat-rope this. Unless Mayo is involved. Mayo ruins everything.
This guy ruins everything? But he's an officer and a gentleman!

I didn’t realize how many kids Vets Memorial took away from Judson. The Rockets are close to 5A size now, that’s insane. They’re a lock for D2 and will avoid LT & Westlake. That’s huge for them. Can’t imagine there’s any other decent 6A Austin teams, and Judson can handle pretty much any SA team. Should in theory mean a cakewalk to the semis for Judson barring virus shenanigans.
Vandegrift could give them a challenge.

Agreed on #1. 2 and 3 are both battling for the same callup spot.

Reps fly back Monday night. Same plane then goes to Pitt (Meyers lawyer/agent? ) and to Columbus to pick up Meyer and then a quick stop to pick up his son in Cinci so he can be there for the announcement?

I'm sure they don't want to cram everyone in a stadium like Vernon, but Wichita Falls Memorial would be plenty big enough. Old High and Rider play Friday. Maybe Thursday and Saturday didn't work for Canyon/ Springtown.
Even Shotwell in Abilene would be better than Midland. Although it is a lot closer to Springtown.

I would gladly take him. He's one of the brightest minds in all of football and I have no doubt he would put together an all-star staff. Outside of Meyer, that would be about as good of a hire for any college program outside of Saban or Dabo. Every recruit will think twice about having the opportunity to be developed by a young NFL coach that was a play or two close from winning the superbowl.
Why the hell would we offer Shanahan $12 million?

I thought I was the only one on here who didn't like Ferrell's acting. I made it through Elf until the scene where he lost his shit when he heard Santa was coming.
I like some of the old Christmas movies.
White Christmas (how could anyone watch Danny Kaye shove off Vera Ellen and not know he was gay?)
Miracle on 34th Street
Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
Others listed (Scrooged, Die Hard, Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation)
I love White Christmas. One of my faves. But, man oh man, Vera Ellen's anorexia was showing in that movie. She was a twig.

I think we can all agree that Sam Ehlinger has endured a pretty rough and tumble four years as the starting QB at Texas. Not just riding the roller coaster of emotions of wins and losses, but physically, he has given his body to the game and his team.
So when Sam Cosmi, a team captain, elects to opt out and go pro two or three games early, thereby leaving Ehlinger theoretically more exposed than before, I’m sorry if I don’t clap for Cosmi on his way out the door no matter how he performed in his career.
Nor do I clap for Caden Sterns. Another captain who wasn’t really a captain after all.
By no means am I denigrating their play on the field. Even though I think Cosmi never quite reached the level of All-American, I think he came as close to maximizing his ability as any talented Texas OL has in years. He should be applauded for that. And while Sterns has his deficiencies, especially against speed and quickness in space, he too is a mostly solid player.
Yet I feel strongly that neither captain is actually acting as a captain. The captain goes down with the ship, he’s the one everyone else looks to for guidance in times of tumult. Either they do that or the captains shouldn’t have agreed to be captains in the first place.
I know not everyone will agree with this opinion, and that’s fine. But football, at its core, is a team sport. Your actions impact those of your teammates.
So on Saturday, as we watch the left-side of the Texas pocket collapse earlier than usual because a true freshman is thrust into service at left tackle and Ehlinger takes a hit he might not have otherwise taken, I ask everyone to realize that all choices a person makes can not be about themselves, no matter how justified or financially motivated. Choices impact others.
Especially the choices of “captains”.

I spent some time looking into possible hires of Urban Meyer at Texas.
One name was brought to me from an Ohio State reporter that was interesting.
UCLA offensive coordinator Justin Frye was a GA at Florida and worked for close Meyer friend Steve Adazzio at Temple and Boston College. Frye also coaches the offensive line which would more naturally allow Meyer’s son-in-law Corey Dennis to take the QB coaching position.
Does this mean Meyer to Texas is definitely happening? No, of course not. But it’s a peak into what Meyer might be thinking.I agree with him on the captain issue.
