  1. This was the equivalent of Rick Barnes losing to Chaminade. I've been saying it for several years Shaka was an overpaid mistake. He has recruited some good talent and done absolutely nothing with it. He's just over .500 at Texas, under .500 in the Big 12 and 0-2 in the tourney, that's pathetic. Patterson made some shitty hires during his brief tenure as AD.

Let's turn the page and talk about everyone's favorite lightning rod, Lebron James and the Lakers.  At 11-9 a quarter way through the season, they sit in 7th place in the West, which is ironically led by the Clippers at this moment in time (Doc reminds folks he can coach).  Frankly, that's about where I thought they'd be at this stage.  A young team with Lebron trying to figure out how to play with all the Frankenstein pieces Magic assembled.  The pitch to Lebron in the offseason was to get more playmakers for Lebron to play with so he didn't have to carry so much of the offensive burden.  Let Lebron be a finisher, facilitator and playmaker in spurts.  Welp..... that lasted 20 games.

Lebron, who bought in publicly, is back doing his thing.  Playing the point and facilitating the offense almost full time.  It's just how the guy is built and while drawing up a new scheme for him may work conceptionally, Lebron isn't built that way, nor is he really a patient person.  Windhorst, his personal ESPN blowhard, put a piece yesterday about how Lebron is back at the point and is now regularly ignoring Luke Walton's play calls.... LOL!!!!  Shocking, I know.... To Walton's credit, he gets it.

All of sudden, the West is really wide open after the Warriors.  The Rockets are lost, Utah is a bust, Nuggets are up and coming but too young, and the Thunder are dealing with Westbrook injury issues.  A 2 or 3 seed is there for the taking for a team willing to make a move.... What will Magic and Lebron do?

It'll be interesting to see who the Lakers sign next season. I can't imagine KD or Kawhi wanting to come in and play second fiddle to Lebron even with the allure of LA and a max contract. A Kyrie/LeBron reunion tour is about as likely as hell freezing over. GS are favorites to retain Klay and Kristap is a RFA so it'll be difficult to pry him away from the Knicks. That leaves guys like Jimmy Butler and Kemba Walker as teams for the Lakers to target or even Boogie if he bounces back from his Achilles injury. If Philly makes a run this season it'll be difficult for him to leave, post season success is just as big of a factor to him as money which is evident with what transpired in Minnesota.

Makes you wonder how good Steve McNair really was. Guy might have been the greatest QB of all time for all we know.

McNair was tough as nails and would've excelled under a competent HC. It was embarrassing how they treated him at the end locking him out of the facility, he would've made a great mentor for VY as well. Could you imagine if Goff was still stuck under Fisher?

  4. I couldn't envision Pop wanting to be a part of a rebuild. He has nothing left to prove, he's won 5 NBA Titles, Coach of the year numerous times and led an impressive streak of consecutive playoff appearances for two decades. It was one hell of a run, just a shame that a dirty, no good mother fucker brought on the beginning of the end with a cheap play in the Conference Finals several years ago. That is where things began to unravel.

Losing Murray hurt the team defensively, but ultimately even with Murray the Spurs would've been a fringe playoff team competing for a 6, 7 or 8 seed. The bench is awful this season and White/Forbes were never ready to assume major roles. White was expected to be a bench player and he was thrust into the lime light if only for a moment before his injury and Forbes was intended to be a player who was sparingly used. Marco is flat out bad, Patty's salary is a detriment and he's shot the team into massive deficits on several occasions, the shell of Pau Gasol is a handcuff salary and performance wise. Poetl will likely take a year to catch on and begin to make an impact. Defensively this is the worst I've ever witnessed the Spurs under Pop. I won't lie when I learned the Spurs were bringing back Pau on a "team friendly" deal I believed it was a good move, that is until the length of the contract and salary were revealed then my jaw dropped.

    fuck. aggy is gonna win.

It's the aggy we're talking about here. They could fuck up a wet dream. They could fuck up a one car funeral. They could fall out of a boat and not hit water.

  6. It's fairly straight forward :

Win = Sugar Bowl. The Big 12 champion is tied into the Sugar Bowl. Bama is primed for the playoffs so UGA/LSU would be the likely opponents.

Loss = Alamo Bowl most likely a match up against Washington

  7. How badly does LSU thump the aggy in collie station? LSU's offense is pretty shitty, but I could see them winning by 14-20 points. It'll be a sound reminder that the aggy will never be better than a 3rd place team in their division in a similar manner to the Big 12 south days.

  8. I see it's SEC cupcake weekend.

    aggy vs UAB

    Idaho vs Florida

    Citadel vs Bama

    Liberty vs Auburn

    Massachusetts vs Georgia

    Middle Tennessee vs Kentucky

    Chattanooga vs the cocks

Beefing up that SOS this weekend, bunch of pussies.

  9. Apparently the reports of Zach Smith having anger issues were completely inaccurate after that latest tirade. I'd bet the lawyers muzzled that lunatic. All he's doing now is retweeting tweets calling McMurphy a phony. I don't know if I buy into that latest story by McMurphy, but one thing is certain, Zach Smith is a wife beating coke head that doesn't deserve to breathe our air.

  10. Everyone told Rockets fans that signing Melo wasn't going to work out and that he was washed up. Clearly the problems with that team extend beyond Melo, but last season was a clear indication that he didn't have much of anything left to offer and already had career lows in most categories last season that have plummeted even lower this season. If those dick suckers LeBron and Dwyane Wade are going to bat for him on twitter why don't they lobby for their shitty teams to sign him and see how long it takes them to tire of him?
