No way San Antonio should be that high

Time will tell. You can't make the claim the Spurs are worse off than they were last season when they narrowly missed out on 50 wins and finished as a 7 seed with one player carrying the team. I could see the Spurs securing a 3 or 4 seed now that LMA has a legit All-Star who can score 23-25 ppg to help shoulder the load and won't have to carry the team on his back. A lot of people are critical about DeRozan, but he did lead Toronto to a #1 seed despite vanishing in the Cleveland series. Are the Spurs among the elite ready to challenge GS? No. Are they going to disappear? No. A starting lineup of Murray, DeRozan, Gay, LMA and the shell of Pau Gasol or Poeltl isn't all that bad and will be an improvement over last season.

  2. I'm happy with the trade and relieved it's finally over. Yes DeRozan is a subpar defender, he lacks the ability to shoot threes and has a tendency to under perform in the playoffs those facts are well known. His 3 is improving gradually and in a new system maybe he finally kicks it up a notch in the playoffs? LMA had to carry the first team unit offensively last season, now he has a player who can put up over 20 points a night to help shoulder the load.

Poeltl has been likened to a younger version of Splitter minus the bad calf. He's not going to be an offensive juggernaut, but he's going to become a valuable role player who can defend more than the inside in the modern nba which is invaluable for a player his size. He'll eat up minutes that would otherwise go to the shell of Pau Gasol. His contract still infuriates me to this day.

I'm just not buying into the projections that the Spurs only win 37-38 games this season. Last season they bested that total with a soft ass bitch pouting in NY with his asshole uncle coddling him. I hope Kawhi does sit out this season, he'll have ruined his career wasting two years of his prime and nobody will offer him a max deal. Losing Tony wasn't a big deal, he wasn't going to play a big role this season, losing Kyle Anderson did hurt, but it is what it is the Spurs didn't have the cap to match the offer and Danny was still a valuable defender, but his offensive game was dwindling away and it's always possible he could return next season.

  3. This is the best the Spurs were going to do. Anyone expecting the King's ransom in exchange for a player who has 1 year left on his deal and sat out in a controversial manner was deluded and it's that simple. The Spurs acquired a potential 1st rounder, a big with promise who was a former Pac 12 player of the year at Utah filling a position of need along with a 20+ PPG player who can so desperately provide a punch as a compliment to LMA that was sorely lacking last season. This trade was about remaining competitive now and with DeRozan the Spurs should still be in the mix for a 3-4 seed and certainly would've been better than a 7 seed last season if they had his services instead of a bitch ass who played 9 games and essentially abandoned his team.

  4. Lavar recycles the same old bullshit and the media gives him glory by publishing his idiotic comments. He's an attention whore who loves the spotlight and the media makes it possible. He'd embarrass MJ or Lebron...........What's next is he going to call out Kobe, Shaq and Magic?

    Fucking bullshit.

So a broke down Trevor Ariza and a one shoulder'd Luc Mbah a Moute are really huge losses.

They had the 3rd best record in the NBA 2 years ago with Harden and Gordon.

As long as Harden and Paul are healthy, the Rockets will be at the top of the Western Conference, i.e. the NBA.

That's a bold claim to make with a dominant Golden State team becoming even better. They're better at every position than Houston except for SG but it's not like Harden the playoff choker is much better than Klay Thompson who actually shows up in the post season and doesn't choke on his own dick. Houston may have pushed the series to 7 games but the majority of their wins they scraped by when GS won they won by 20+ in dominant fashion. Houston did drub GS in one of their 3 victories, but game 3 set the tone for the remainder of that series 126-85 that's just embarrassing and when GS won they blew Houston out of the water every time.

He was a beast his first season with the Titans leading the AFC in rushing. Injuries and a high workload took their toll last season and his production ground to a halt. Despite being a sooner he always came off as a classy guy and he speaks highly of Derrick Henry and took him under his wing the last 2 seasons.

  7. Every day I expect to read a headline that Kawhi was dealt, but it never happens. I imagine it's difficult to deal a player with 1 year remaining on his contract who's health status is unknown by the team attempting to deal him and factor in a bitch ass uncle to the equation who is a complete and total amateur I guess it'll be sometime until something happens if anything happens at all. I never would've expected Kawhi to be the type of person who surfaced in the last year, he was going to get paid at some point in this season as well. Too bad he can opt out after this season or he could be dealt to a shit team like Sacramento where he can toil around on 20 win teams for the foreseeable future.

  8. The only logical destination in the East is now Philly. Why would Boston need Kawhi? The Celtics can essentially sleep walk their way into the finals with or without a healthy roster they have the blend of young talent and veteran players to easily control the East at this point. The Celtics wrecked the 76ers 4-1 without Kyrie and Hayward. The pressure is on Philly to acquire Kawhi, the Lakers won't offer much when they can sit back a year and sign Kawhi without surrendering any assets. The Spurs wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for Kawhi's fuck stick of an uncle.

Here is a trade proposal from SI.  I have no idea if this is a good idea or not because I didn't follow the NBA at all this year so I don't know much about the young players.  I also have no idea if Boston would do this or not.  I do like the idea of the Kings' pick next year as it should be pretty high up in the lottery.

Spurs receive: Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Morris, Aron Baynes, 2019 First Round Pick

Celtics receive: Kawhi Leonard, Derrick White, Pau Gasol

I seriously doubt the Celtics would give up that haul. But yeah, the Spurs would be making out like bandits in that deal. They would acquire an elite PG, A young SG/SF with a ton of potential, a 2019 lotto pick and they would unload Gasol's ridiculous contract. It's too good to be true!

I actually like LeBron. That said, I can see him ending up in Philly or San Antonio. He loves Pops, and Philly has two young upcoming superstars that he was saying he needs to win. Just my two cents

Spurs fan here. It'll never happen in a million years.
